Oil Can Henry’s

These folks were awesome! Shayne and Mike were friendly and helpful. They took time to explain everything to me and did not patronize me. They even found me a discount for my services. I didn’t have to wait and it was fairly fast. Go here if you need auto services!

Unbelievably gracious and efficient service. Yes, I had to wait my turn, but they were busy every second, and not one of them was standing around. I have been less than pleased with OCH in the past, but this one has really beefed up their efficiency and service! A lady waited in me and she was amazing!

Unbelievably slow. Was told 20 minute wait; it is now one hour and twenty-​five minutes and still not done. One hour waiting as the next to be serviced. All I wanted was a simple oil change. Not the standard of service of other Oil Can Henry’s.

I loathe car places. It always feels like a stand off situation each time you go in. I can change my own oil, but for the cost, effort, mess involved… if I have a coupon, it is cheaper to have this place do it. Go on their web site and grab the coupon for 24 bucks.
Pulled in and received a paper nice touch, though the Daily Astorian leaves a lot to be desired from a journalistic standpoint. Nice young lady (new employee) took my info while I waited in the car. I had never been to an Oil Can Henry’s, so the staying in the car was a novel concept for me. Pretty nice actually. They were training another older gentleman, so it was interesting to eavesdrop on the manager doing the training. All seemed pretty legit. Of course they do the dreaded «up-​sell» on everything, but were not pressuring at all. Their «technique» is pretty comical in that the upper crew yells off checklist stuff down to the service lads in the work bay below your vehicle. You can watch it all on a monitor next to your car.
They did catch that I had a high beam light out on a light inspection… so that was cool. I was in and out in less than twenty minutes.
Be advised though… I later found out in talking with a few former employees (not from this location) that women are targeted «marks» and they are expected to try to up-​sell at least $ 75 bucks worth of services for each customer. It is a goal of theirs. If you are told something that doesn’t seem right, verify it with a trusted mechanic.

You don’t want the cheap oil, we have better, better filter to and u need tranny flush, radiator flush, we doing special on brake fluid. What you crazy I show you the book, Don’t get it done u all gonna die. Besides. I get commission on every useless thing i sell you. Oh and you need a motor flush even though you don’t.

Came by for an oil change at last minute. Employees there welcomed us in, even though we only had about 5 minutes left till the closed. Quickly changed our oil, recommended the typical services, but did not hassle us in any way, which is awesome, since places like Jiffy Lube try to scare you in to getting additional services done.
Forgot to bring the coupon, but I believe it’s $ 9 bucks off if you bring it in.
