I have been getting my haircut and color with Melissa for a few years now and I always walk out happy. Thank you Melissa!

I had a really great men’s facial here last year and called them last Saturday and left a message and still no call back on Thursday :(yelp says they open at 8 am is wrong because the front door sign says they open at 9am on Saturday. It was 9:30 when I tried to go there and it was closed so I left a message.

Danielle is a hair magician. She consistently tames my unruly, frizzy, curls and makes me feel so comfortable and welcome. She always takes her time and makes sure that I am completely happy with my hair. She’s the BEST!!!

I have been coming here for a while now. I come to see Tina to get facials. My skin has never been better. A very laid back relaxing setting. Already looking forward to my next appointment.

Everyone in this salon is friendly and welcoming, which is a great feeling when you walk in.
I get my hair cut, colored, trimmed, whatever it might be by Monica. She is the best! She’s more than willing to try whatever it is her client wants to have done and manages to make her client walk out looking and feeling like a million bucks. She’s easy to talk to and explains exactly what she’s going to do to ensure that her client understands. Hands down, I will continue to see her on a regular basis.

I go to Essentials for my facials and my hair. Love the girls that work here and love the owner Linda too. Tina is the best for anything skin/​waxing! Her facials are amazing and she makes me brows look amazing! Love her to death! Melissa does my hair and also does an amazing job. Cant recommend enough!

Abby is a wonderful hair stylist. My hubby and I have both been going to her for our hair cut and coloring needs going on 5 years now!
She’s great with men’s as well as women’s haircuts. She is also fabulous with hair color. She doesn’t miss a beat. Abby is incredibly nice, is attentive to details and does a great job each and every time.

I have been getting my hair colored and cut by Melissa for over 10 years! She is an excellent colorist, especially if you are a blonde like myself! She is patient and kind, and really knows how to do hair! My daughter and I, owe our brilliant blondness to her! She is awesome and is reasonable. Honestly you will not be disappointed if you go to her. She gets a ¹⁰⁄₁₀ from us!

I have finally found a salon that is really comfortable, friendly, and where I get a great cut and color from Abby. Abby takes the time to listen to what I want then carefully cuts and shapes my hair so I can easily manage it; and the color is «naturally perfect» :) An added bonus was having her gently wax my eyebrows while waiting for the color to do its thing. .. just what I needed in one stop!

This place is rad, I followed my stylist Danielle from Bella in naples. The feel of this salon is SO MUCH BETTER, very relax, very seal beach. As a guy with probably the most difficult hair on earth, Danielle has found a way to make me look awesome!

I love Essentials, not only is it my one stop shop for my hair and esthetic needs, the folks there are fun and knowledgeable on the latest trends. I highly recommend this Salon to anyone who wants to receive high quality service at a reasonable cost!

I gladly followed kristen from bella salon. She is a professional, talented young woman who knows hair! I have been going to her for about 1.5 years. My hair was dry with split ends and bad color. She has transformed my hair so that it is healthier than its ever been and the color is magnificent. I would like to add that the only draw back to going to kristen was having to go to bella. I felt it had a wierd unhappy vibe to it. Essentials is supper fun and friendly… a great salon!

I love this salon! It’s on Main street so there are tons of cute shops and restaurants around. The salon has a great vibe to it and the ladies are all so friendly. Cleanliness is very important to me especially in a hair salon and this place is always super clean!
I’ve been a client of Lindsay’s for almost three years (before Essentials). Let me tell you that I have never maintained hair upkeep until Lindsay! She is very knowledgeable on products, styles & has an eye for what color, style etc. will look good on me. I have never left an appointment without feeling less than AMAZING. I refuse to let anyone else touch my hair besides Lindsay and it shows! My hair is now longer, gorgeous and overall more healthy. If you’re looking for an awesome stylist and a beautiful head of hair I suggest Lindsay!
Parking is easy! Plenty of street parking and they also have a small lot beside the salon.
P.S She gives great scalp massages!

i have never found a good hairdresser other than my mother then she retired due to carpol tunnel :(so i had to find an alternative… Kristin was amazing… she spoke english and understood exactly what i was looking for. When i went to visit my mother she said WHO DID YOUR HAIR!!! i said why … she said it looks great… good cut and color… I will have this hairdresser forever… my mother has never liked when i went and got my hair done unless she did it… LOL…

I had my hair colored today by Lindsay at Essential’s and, as always, I LOVE IT! Lindsay knows hair — she always guides me in the best direction. Lindsay tells me what type of shampoos and conditioners to use and which ones not to use. She also gives the BEST neck massage and shampoo scrub I’ve ever had. The bottom line is Lindsay is a fantastic hair stylist, knows what goes best with my skin tone and my face shape. I am blessed to have found her, and whenever I leave the salon, I feel like a million bucks!

I want to state up front that this review is not for the salon, it is for the individual hair dresser. I visited Lindsay when she was at her former salon in Long Beach about 2 years ago. I was a walk in customer who had just moved to long beach and who just happened to stumble across the Salon on 2^nd Street and who hadn’t ever heard anything about Lindsay or the salon.
When I arrived for a cut and color I was asked for my phone number and full name. When I left my appointment not only can I remember being disappointed in the cut, but the color was awful!!! I told myself, I AM NEVER GOING BACK!!! To my suprise I started recieving text messages at least 3 times a month with «Lindsay’s New Specials». Since my first experience was SO BAD I requested to be taken off her text message marketing list. The request to be removed was ignored and ignored and ignored. I have probably sent almost 10 requests to be removed from her more than annoying series of marketing texts. This morning I was at the end of my rope. I wrote to her after recieving yet another marketing email this exact text, «For the millionth time, please remove me from your list… you are starting to make me really mad».
I was called a bitch in her response… GUESS WHAT… Not only will I never return to recieve any of your sub par hair styling, but I want to make sure everyone knows how rude of a person you are. If someone doesn’t want to be on your list, it is YOUR responsibility as a business professional to prompty remove them… ten requests and 2 years later is not prompt or professional.
I hope everyone thinks twice about going to see Lindsay, not only because her services suck, but she is rude and you too will probably be responding tri-​monthly to her annoying marketing pitches trying to get off the list.

I moved to Long Beach last summer (2010) and couldn’t for the life of me find an affordable place to get my hair done for the longest time. I had walked by Essentials a few times after I got my job in Seal Beach and I figured I’d give them a try. I called and inquired about their prices, and at $ 25 for men’s haircuts I quit searching and set up an appointment.
Kristin is a great stylist and she’s great to talk to! She prefers to cut hair dry because that’s how it’ll actually look day to day (kudos, because that’s how I like it cut!) and she has an incredible memory. I’m startled by how much she remembers about me each time I go in. Plus I never have to remind her how I want my hair done, and she gets it perfect every time. I can’t say I’ve ever left feeling dissatisfied. She’s always good for a hug before saying goodbye, that’s how much she enjoys her work!
