Maximum Scuba

This is the best dive shop around!!! Very friendly/​helpful staff. Best thing is they don’t bug or pressure you to buy anything or sign up. Everyone is very laid back are caring. I have stepped into other dive shops before them and I will never go anywhere else.

Outstanding instruction.
Came here to do my Divemaster certification and never left. Jeff Gordon, the owner, really cares about his students. Its a great value compared to all the other dive shops in Houston/​Seabrook area. I can’t recommend this store enough if you want to get certified or continue your diving education.

I got both my open water and my advanced open water with these guys a year ago. I have nothing but good things to say. Everyone was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. I cannot wait to get my more advanced certs. I will definitely only go to maximum!

I purchased two Groupons from this store for my husband and my daughter to take the advanced dive class. They scheduled the class for a weekend in June, went into the shop and picked up their books, and made arrangements for the equipment.
On the first day of the class, the start time was delayed for over an hour, as the instructors waited for all of the staff to show up, and then allowed extra class members to sign up. Meanwhile, those who had enrolled early, and showed up on time had nothing to do but sit in the heat and wait. (The instructors were all from the Houston location — no idea why)
The second day of class brought a different set of instructors, more delays, and very little choice as to which dives they were allowed to complete for their certification.
The kicker to this story — the class they took was in June! and as on September 25, they still don’t have their C cards back. Three phone calls so far, and no answers. I’m not sure the shop even knows whee they are, or that they were ever submitted.

Best Dive Shop in the Houston area. The owner, Jeff, is very customer oriented. I have sent many students his way, and everyone reports back great things.

I stopped into this place looking for some anti-​fog spray for my swim goggles.
This place is one of those local shops near the bay that is all about business. And they’re in the business of scuba diving. No frills – just a place filled with oxygen tanks, wetsuits, and other scuba apparatuses. Oh, and a rack of fish spears. And a plaque for Best Spearfishing 2009. Awesome.
The staff and the two locals were friendly and helped me find some anti-​fog liquid (which I only found out later does not work for swim goggles… only scuba… weird).
They offer some scuba diving lessons, too. Maybe next time!
