The food was mediocre when we tried the place back in May 2013 — it wasn’t bad, but it was anything special either. We decided to try their breakfast a few days ago and there was a sign on the door stating that they were closed. I also tried calling their number and I got a recording stating it had been disconnected. I’m assuming that they went out of business. This location hasn’t had a very good track record(I believe they are the third owners to go out of business at this location).

Anthony’s Restaurant opened about four months ago in the former Kate O’Shea’s Restaurant & Pub(Sal & Anthony’s) before that. The atmosphere and layout inside the restaurant & bar is pretty similar with some minor modifications in the décor with high top wood table seating and bar counter seating, old brick fireplace in the center of the bar area and booth seating. Complementary popcorn is offered in the bar. Live piano music Thurs-Sat nights. Beyond the bar area is a casual dining room. The menu offerings feature neapolitan style pizzas, calzones, subs, burgers, appetizers, salads, pasta dinners(served with salad), and dinners(steak tips, grilled chicken, haddock, shrimp). The prices here are pretty reasonable, pizzas(12″) start at $ 5.50, subs $ 5, calzones $ 7, and dinner entrees $ 6-$ 9.75. They also serve breakfast daily until 11AM and on weekdays, breakfast is 20 percent off(dine-in only). I stopped here for takeout very recently on a quiet Sunday night. I ordered an Eggplant Parmesan Dinner($ 9) and a Cheese Pizza($ 5.50). The cheese pizza was decent, which had a thin chewy crust, thicker along the edges. The sauce was good, but the cheese blend(mozzarella, white cheddar, provolone, & asiago) was on the greasy side, needing a napkin to soak up the grease. The eggplant parmesan dinner was pretty good, which had al dente ziti, topped with semi thick breaded eggplant slices, a thick tomato sauce, and the thick layer of melted mozzarella cheese. The salad(served in a round foil container) was fresh with crisp lettuce, tomato slices, green peppers, red cabbage, & red onion, dressing on the side. The food took about 25 minutes to be ready as I sat at the bar counter and watched some TV in a «not so busy» bar. The bartender who took my takeout order also offered me a drink while I waited, but I was all set.
