I am starting to think that Arizonans don’t know what a farmer’s market is. Because so far I have only been to one, though at least three tried to claim that status. A farmer’s market is where you can buy things that a real farmer or co-op has grown, milked, cheesed, or baked. And those kettle corn people always seem to show up too, but that’s besides the point. When you arrive at a farmer’s market you should see loads of greenery and maybe a goat. The Market at DC Ranch had NOFARMERS when I went there last Saturday. There was not ONESINGLE vegetable at any of the 12+ stalls. The closest thing I could find was a jam seller and a catering company selling bread. The rest was jewelry, quilting garbage, pet adoption, glasswork, and ceramics. FYI that is not a Farmer’s Market that is a Craft Fair or at best, an Open Market. Who can I sue for false advertising?

This would be a really awesome spot for a farmers’ market as soon as it grows beyond the currently limited food related offering of 1 small vegetable stand, the other 1 raw meat stand, and the catering stand. The rest were all arts and crafts. That’s what I saw on my visit. The Market is every Saturday 10am-2pm(Fall through Spring) Would love to be able to give a Farmers’ Market more than 1 star. Hopefully, more vendors will show up as the weather cools down.
