The sushi was fresh. I did not like there selection of rolls. I wish they could have more sushi roll options as most seemed kind of the same. Kind of expensive even on happy hour since they dont really offer any rolls on the happy hour menu except your basic options. What is pretty good is the Las Vegas Roll and the drinks. Im giving them four stars because there mixed drinks are delicious.

Absolutely delightful! Not only was the sushi innovative and delicious, the cocktails were refreshing and the service was very good. We paced ourselves: starting with the seasonal special watermelon Shrimp roll, we then moved ont to the Pacific Roll and the Lobster Salmon roll. All were delicious with creative flavor combinations that worked well together. This was an outstanding dining experience that inspires me to find reasons to return to Phoenix soon!

Went to late night happy hour last night — 5 stars for the calamari — best thing on their menu — perfect tempura — will be back for more! Rainbow roll was small, expensive and did not look the photo.

Stumbled on RA while waling in Scottsdale on Sunday evening. The place was pretty full and we decided to try it. We requested a seat outside and were seated immediately. Had an amazing server — Mikayla(purposely remembered her name so i can include it in my review), who made our experience great! She recommended a great cocktail based on my description of what I like and she also suggested what rolls and sashimi to order. The sushi was good, though the rice was not the best(hence 4 stars and not 5), and the fish appeared fresh. If i am ever in Phoenix again, i will be sure to go back to RA.

I love RA! Not for their sushi, but for their bento boxes! They do not cheat you! The bento boxes are only available during lunch time. I got the salmon teriyaki bento box and it was scrumptious! $ 9.35 and packed with food. Sign up for their email and get a $ 20.00 certificate for your«half-birthday» via email. Seriously!

I love RA. Normally I wouldn’t choose to go to a chain sushi place but RA is awesome. The Lobster Spring Rolls are amazing. they used to be on HH back in the day, now they’re around $ 11/12, ouch. But they come with 4& great for the table. I am a pretty simple person when it comes to sushi — love the Philly roll(also not on HH) & the Tootsy Maki(is on HH). The HH is really good, and until 7PM! We came on a Saturday night around 8PM and it was pretty crowded. They told us 30 minutes so we went to the bar to get a drink but it really only ended up being like 10 minutes. Our waiter(didn’t catch his name) was super attentive & nice! Love the patio!

Overpriced Sushi, and not so good. Just a popular hangout but without much merit for food or comfort.

I give this a 3 star because of service. We had to look for our waitress several times to ask for water… soy sauce… and the check place. The last one took forever. The service wasn’t the best. I give the food 3 stars too. Lots of the sushi and rolls that are in the menu have cream cheese and mayonnaise in them. Not That sort of taste that i look for a good sushi and roll.

We started with the Scallop Dynamite appetizer. It was really good, but it should be served on a bed of rice, as all the yummy juice is wasted without the rice.(We ordered a side of rice and dumped it in the leftover sauce, which was really good.) The Chili Shrimp roll is phenomenal. The Crazy Monkey roll was just ok. The Next time, we will try the Scallop Dynamite roll. Great location. Excellent customer service.

Let’s start with the good, food is always pretty good and the service is okay. I have eaten at this location numerous times and the service is usually on point but today, it’s a bit mixed. 2 stars because the food is good… Now moving on to the bad. I have two people I’d like to talk about. Our server, didn’t get a name but was a younger blonde, great service and super friendly. Another server that brought food out for her, not so nice, in the food industry customer service is everything. If you are going to bring food out, make sure you have an available hand in case you need to move stuff or pick something up. Don’t bark at us to «move your plate» in a rude tone and add please at the end to make it sound better. It is not our fault that you aren’t prepared and the fact that we were not fast enough to move our stuff before you could bark at us is rude and unnecessary. This ruined the rest of our meal and after that she was rude and just gawking at the table the rest of our time there. Not much of a ranter but this was pretty disappointing

I was pleasantly surprised. We walked in there at 10:30 on a Friday night, were immediately greeted, seated and waited on. The service was great. I had hamachi sashimi, spicy tuna hand-roll, rice & soup. The fish was fresh, buttery and a fair portion. The hand-roll was made with a rice wrapper instead of nori. I can see where this could be an issue because in my vast experience, nori is the default wrap of choice & the rice wrap is normally an option that is asked for. But it tasted good enough and the amount of tuna it was wrapped around was generous and it was fresh. The soup and rice were good. My friend had your basic spicy tuna roll and another item I don’t recall, and he was pleased also. The price was very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and the slick, touristy Old Town location.

LOVE the sushi, but the service could use a hug, especially during lunch-hour.

We came back to use the un-birthday coupon and it was well worth the trek to Old Town on a holiday. We tried some different items this time. The clam udon, the sashimi bowl called Krish-something and our usual Rainbow Roll. Everything was delicious and fresh. The clams weren’t the best but you really can’t expect the biggest and best while in AZ. I enjoyed some hot green tea this time which was lovely. My only complaint is the service was slow. It varies who is working it seems and where you sit. We usually sit at the bar at Happy Hour, this time we sat in the dining area. Overall it was a great experience and we will be back!

2-star for their wonderful food. Dont get me wrong, their sushi is fantastic. Really authentic! But their service is horrible. I sat there for 5 minutes and no one came to me. It took 4 people to help me order a bottle of sake. The waitress who supposed to serve me brought me a bottle of water 10 minutes later and didn’t show up the rest of the time until I asked her for the check. Another mid age white guy later on sat 2 seats away from me. The waitress showed up immediately and served him really well. Seriously? Even I’m a young single Asian female, but it doesn’t mean I will tip you bad. It’s actually fine that the response speed is not fast if the restaurant is busy. But it’s not.

We go here for happy hour. Off the happy hour menu we love the Vegas and rainbow rolls. I also really like the Gojira roll. It’s definitely not the best sushi but the happy hour deals are good.

Food was sensational for happy hour, great deals too. But my boyfriend and I had a hipster Ryan Gosling doppelgänger waiter with a lot of attitude. HE got our drink orders wrong and then I was immediately able to visualize him rolling his eyes and shaking his head at our request. Massively unprofessional. Also, I don’t entirely appreciate restaurants assessing that we are a young couple and think we’re willing to sit at the most undesirable tables. We were out right at the entrance, by a window, with invasive foot traffic that took away from our conversation.

Good for lunch. They were quick. Food was usual quality for a Japanese fusion place. Server accommodated splitting the check for a party of(4), and the prices for lunch bento box were very good. Quick for lunch in a pinch

I used to come to this location very often in the late 90’s. And like it is still pretty much the same. Good sushi good service friendly atmosphere has a nice outdoor patio and is right in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale.

This was my second time at RA. I decided to give it one more try after my first not so impressive lunch. I am surprised at how different my experience was now! My husband and I ordered 5 different rolls, all of which were fresh and delicious! The rolls came out in no time; we were sitting at the bar and every thin was prepared on the spot. The service was great the whole time we were there. I am so glad I decided to go again and try other types of rolls. Will definitely be going back again!

The service was HORRIBLE. Everything took forever to arrive and some of it didn’t even arrive. I had to remind my server again and even ask a server assistant for something and it still didn’t arrive. RIDICULOUS. The food was great. The restaurant was clean. I like the setup and the location is pretty neat being in Old Town Scottsdale. Later on, a new server came in the picture to help out the other one and she was GREAT. She remembered everything and was very nice. Good job, lady! I am not sure if I will return or not.
