Gary and his crew have serviced my AC unit for the last two years and I remain satisfied with their professionalism: timely response/on time, budget minded… but not willing to cut corners, and generally left me with a strong sense of being treated fairly and working hard to keep the customer cool and happy. On the way home in late August — wife phoned to say that interior temp was 92 degrees… and that the AC was blowing hot air. No sooner had I hung up, I dialed Gary and he arrived quickly. As I looked over his shoulder… he went through the routine to determine the status of my 16 yr old, 8SEER system. As he worked the system up, I answered his questions and based on my responses, he clearly communicated in laymen’s terms what his strategy would be to get me back into a cool home. In the end, he pronounced the air compressor dead and began to explain a broad range of solutions from least expensive — to more expensive. And he provided a pro/con of each. As a customer, I valued his expertise and again felt like he understood where I am coming from when facing such a critical decision. He explained the compressor is the ‘heart’ of the system… and placing a ‘new’ compressor into an ‘old’ system is like putting a new heart into an old man’s body… sure it will work(and you spend less) — but the other components of the system are more at risk and likely to break down… plus, you retain the older efficiency… etc… I candidly mentioned that i had already been evaluating full replacement of system and had received two other quotes from the ‘big guys’. The two bids I had received were similar in suggested systems… one was more fancy, and one less fancy… so i knew what equipment/system was appropriate for my home. As Gary was packing up his equipment, i asked about his experience with brands of AC units… his response was approximately equal to what i had read online and this further boosted my confidence in his work. Gary stated he would have a quote for a similar system in the morning and if given the green light, his crew would be in to tear out/replace the entire system and have the home cooling as quickly as possible. Gary called at 8 am in the morning — the price was better than the big guys and they were able to get the service done ASAP. Making such a significant purchase from a small business and deciding to have GP A/C replace my older unit was a decision I made in confidence. Note — he is certified by the manufacturer of equipment — so I know that the warranty will be honored… Throughout this 24 hour ordeal, Gary was readily able to communicate clearly and efficiently… we talked face to face, on the phone and via text… very convenient. Two weeks out from the full replacement of my AC system… Gary has returned to my home to ‘calibrate’ the unit and ensure that everything is running properly. Gary will make frequent visits before each season to ensure the unit is up and running to standard. I have spent a sizeable chunk of $$ — a chunk that every home-owner dreads — but I feel as though I have made an investment in my home and that it is in good hands with GP A/C. I highly recommend Gary and his crew to help any homeowner facing a similar situation and/or to just have regular maintenance to keep AC working optimally. Thank you Gary and GP crew for work well done!
