Leigh Brown is the hair stylist you refer your friends, your co-workers and the strangers on the street that compliment your cut and color to! She listens, suggests ideas and follows through with amazing work. Her experience is obvious and her attention to detail is clear. She is better than a therapist(if needed) ;) and extremely professional. Not happy with the choice you made? No problem! Leigh will work to fix it until it’s just right. Her prices are industry appropriate and frankly the finished product would be worth paying more… yet you won’t have to. She doesn’t try to get people to book their next appointment too soon(like some do just to get more money more often). She does what’s best for the client. I’ve come across other hair stylists who specifically, without fail, compliment my color. I used to be blonde with warm tones, now I’m a deep red/brown shade. My hair is healthy and shiny — because of Leigh’s solid advice on hair care and the quality of product she uses on me. P. S. Leigh and Don are an awesome duo and hanging out at Salon Ivy is always fun!

My review is for Leigh Brown at Salon Ivy(NOTDONCROW) Leigh Brown was my stylist for 1.5 years and seemed to do a decent job, although I never left the salon looking fabulous. After 1.5 years of «Just .O.K.» services, she turned my hair yellow with what she called«bumping my base.» I had asked for more highlights, since my highlights never seemed bright enough and instead of giving me more highlights, she changed the base of my hair color to a dull yellow orange. When she took the towel off of my rinsed wet hair, I knew immediately that she had ruined my color. When I spoke up, she blamed it on a couple of the lights in her salon needing to be replaced. I gave her the benefit of the doubt but when I got home and looked in the mirror, I was beyond unhappy with my hair color. I called her to let her know, and she said that she could fix it by adding low lights and/or more highlights, which I knew would not be a complete fix. I went back in the next morning and she threw in a hand full of additional highlights, which helped tone down some of the yellow, but my no means was it a fix. Everyone knows that lowlights do not hold in hair that has been bleached out and for me; the whole idea of my getting highlights is to be more blonde, not darker, so I declined the low lights. She also gave me a deep conditioning treatment afterward to try and help with some of the damage that was being caused by her adding more highlights to my already over processed hair. She also suggested that I go out and purchase purple shampoo(which in my opinion, she should have provided to me free of charge.) She promised that my hair would«not look bad» while growing out,(which it currently does) and that I could come in for free highlights to break up the now, harsh line that she created by «bumping my base.» After 2 weeks of being unhappy and dealing with dried out over processed hair, I contacted her again and told her that my hair still looked yellow, was damaged, and that I was still very unhappy. She came back with an apology, but stated that she did not believe that she damaged my hair. She also offered to refund the $ 90 I paid for the color. I then thanked her and asked her to mail the refund to my address, as picking it up would be awkward and inconvenient to me. After all, I had been inconvenienced enough already. She refused to mail it and insisted on having me pick up the check. She would not agree to let my husband pick it up either and then shot me a text later in the evening saying that«She had changed her mind about refunding my money and not to contact her further.» In my opinion, if someone isn’t happy with services and the sub-standard job cannot be fixed, then the client should be entitled to a refund. Leigh obviously does not subscribe to this type of customer satisfaction policy and feels it’s appropriate to keep a client’s money, even though they’re unhappy. On a positive note, her partner Don is very pleasant, knowledgeable, mature, and seems to take his time with his clients. He’s obviously a much better choice if you do chose to use Salon
