A true classic old town dive bar. Priceless! Very small. Worth it! A place to see and be seen!

Don’t underestimate the«dive» in this dive bar. First, it is very small. It is old, think shack. Service was friendly and fast. Prices good. But… the only redeeming factor in my book was watching the behavior of the bizarre patrons(aka drunks). Several older, single men(think 50 – 60) that were smashed and hitting on the 20-something girls. Funny, but pathetic. Then there were the hipsters drinking PBR. The cowboy. The part that made me mad was watching a group of 4 who where drunk to the point of stumbling, walk past security and get in the their car. They could barely get the car doors open. And the staff did nothing to stop them.

First dive bar I have truly enjoyed since moving to Phoenix. I plan on going back any time I’m forced to go to old town. It’s a much better option than the club scene. I like the outdoor seating, and look inside. The only thing is that I go there to play darts and you have to shoot from inside the doorway… Which kind of ruins the flow of the game. But I’m sure I’m not the only person to say that. Good beer prices, good vibe.

Brought them 15 patrons. Went inside to purchase a to go soda. Obviously I’m driving and NOT drinking. Paid $ 3 and at the door they made me throw away my to go cup. Lame shit hole of a place. They don’t even have a paved parking lot. Believe me, the dust bowl of a parking lot does not add to the ambiance. It just shows what tight wads the ownership is. Perhaps they need to have particular cups designated for non alcoholic to go beverages.

What you get here most of the time is a great friendly neighborhood dive bar. By that I mean pretty good efficient service at either of the bars, great drink and beer prices, and a place to sit and relax. The place just got spruced up with a larger covered patio, and some much needed repairs and TV’s inside. It looks great, and I really wasn’t expecting them to re-do the bathrooms but I would love it if they had lowered the urinals a few inches. Most times it’s a regular cast of character’s with plenty of industry folk looking to gather with co-workers to revel or bitch about the night, but this is the perfect outlet for that, and close to home for so many of my pals. Sometimes there is food(for just a tip) but usually not. There is plenty of bike parking and a huge parking lot to the east, but please be safe on your bike and don’t drink and operate a motor vehicle. Be warned around Christmas time after the decorations go up it gets very crowded, and usually a line to get in. It at times becomes a Scottsdale freak show with limos and tour busses everywhere and lots of really drunk people trying to have a good time but completely out of there element.

Love this place, been coming here since 1996. It’s a dive bar what more can I say? Cheap drinks, dim lights, earthy smells & interesting people. Five stars.

Fun place to stop during a bike ride. Cold drinks and on weekends often a cook out or live band. It’s the ultimate old Scottsdale dive bar! Bartenders are attentive and the staff runs a good operation. While we were there they had a tent set up in the parking lot with a band and cookout serving burgers and dogs for tips. Enjoyed yet another visit to the Coach House!

Coach House is the oldest bar in Scottsdale and the place is a real gem! If you are looking to get away from guys without bends in their hats, frat boys and ladies that brain-dead this is your place. Coach House is a very low key dive bar and that makes a mean cocktail that packs a little punch. How many places can you go where they still have a spot where you can leave your horse. They also frequently have BBQ’s which is a treat.

Lights… Camera… well, and more lights! A visit to the coach is similar to a visit to an aunt who has too much money to spend on Christmas decorations… And I love them for it. Having a drink at the end of an old town Scottsdale night is a treat in this«LSD flashback» of a pub. Great place to start a pub crawl, great place to conclude a pub crawl. The outside is covered in lights. The bar is cover in lights. The walls are covered in lights. The ceiling is covered in lights. God said«Let their be light». He probably looks down upon The Coach House quietly saying to Himself, «That’ll do pub, that’ll do.»

Xmas lights explosion + dive bar = great fun. Highlights: — Décor: over the top cheesy a la Buddy the elf and I loved it. — Rooms: several areas plus outside — Drinks: standard dive bar fare with quality alcohol options Lowlights: — Not for the craft cocktail crowd. Would come back here any day of the week.

This place was beautiful! I don’t think the saying«Christmas throw up» everyone seems to be using does it justice, I think the design is more calculated if you look closer at it, lots of time and effort went into it, and it seems a lot of love as well and patience haha! The place is actually wrapped in Christmas wrapping paper, the streamers are lined along the wooden beams, lights then follow, and finally ornaments are hung from the lights — quite the display, a beautiful sight. :) We ordered two Ace Pear Ciders which was $ 16(a bit high). The inside is very small, we could hardly move. I expect this at a club, but not a dive bar. The patio is actually larger than the inside. This seems odd since it’s a spectacle during the holiday season, it’s just too cold to enjoy this place from the patio. This place needs a structural makeover before the beautiful décor can be truly appreciated. Enclosing some of the outdoor square footage is a great start, and then adding seating on the inside, because not only was there no seating and everyone had to stand but you also felt like a sardine. :/

This is a great little bar in Scottsdale. The wife and I went here for a Unilocal event and I am really glad we did. This is type of bar I would love to meet coworkers at for happy hour. The atmosphere is fun and festive while keeping to it’s laid back roots. Being Christmas season, the whole bar was covered in tacky lights, which is fun in my opinion. They have the right number of TVs in all the right spots if you wanted to catch your sports team playing. The major win for this place is the lack of happy hour pricing. Normally this is a big negative strike, but this place has great prices all day, every day. Coach House is just a nice, friendly neighborhood bar with an amazing atmosphere. This is certainly my type of place.

One of the last dive bars in Old Town Scottsdale and I hope it never leaves. You can’t ignore the Christmas lights wrapped around inside and out of this place during the holidays. It draws you in and keeps you in. I’ve had the pleasure of hanging out at Coach House for a number of years and each time I’m there I remember the good old days where the drinks flowed like water. Now I’m in my 30’s and well my body doesn’t jive like that anymore. I prefer sleep over hang overs. Drinks are reasonably priced well below the markup the other bars charge around Old Town. Enjoy this little gem as much as you can. Who knows when the investor sharks will come and drive them out.

I’m still wondering why the bartender Amy is still there. I have never been treated so disrespectfully in my life and all I did was walk up to the bar in a cute Santa outfit for a drink and she wouldn’t acknowledge my presence from Timbuktu. I finally had the guy next to me order my drink after she disregarded my drink order and helped all the men at the bar first. The sad thing is, every woman in our group had the same problem. She’s a woman hater and really bad for business. We were all there to have a good time and she’s a total grinch. Oh… And she charged me an extra $ 2 for my drink. I will walk out the door and take my business elsewhere if that tall woman with long mousey brownish-blonde hair is still serving there when I return. As a local that contributes A LOT of money to this business, I expect to be treated with at least a little respect. I’m truly disgusted by her bad attitude.

Had a great time at Coach House for the holiday Unilocal event! The staff was very accommodating of all of us and the drink specials weren’t bad. There’s not much paved parking(dirt lot on the other side) but for free parking in Scottsdale I’ll take it! There are two different bar areas, one inside and one outside. A majority of the seating is on their outdoor patio, so if you are planning to go in the winter months I recommend bringing a jacket or sweater. I especially liked all the Christmas lights which reminded me of Clark Griswold’s house on Christmas Vacation. I’ll have to bring my wife back here when we’re in the Scottsdale area, and I recommend you check it out as well!

If you’re looking for a laid back hangout with excellent people-watching then the Coach House is for you! It’s been there since the 60s and I’m pretty sure some of the clientele has been as well. You also get Scottsdale partygoers there and the mix can be almost as intoxicating as the strong drinks they poor. If you are feeling the least bit festive, or would like to, this place is decorated year round in Christmas decorations. I’m not talking about a random snowman or two. Every square inch is covered top to bottom in Christmas lights, inside and out. The inside is small but the big patio with overhead heat lamps makes this a great spot any time of year!

Oh what fun it was to Unilocal at the Coach House CYME tonight! We had a blast at the Unilocal holiday event. Someone will have to pull my Arizona card since I have never been here before! haha. Well I can say I’ve finally been there now. Thanks for the Swag and the snacks. This place is very divey and very Christmasy so of course it was awesome!

This place is a trip. We went just after Thanksgiving so the Christmas lights were up. There must be thousands and thousands of lights. It’s like Christmas lights on crack. Truly. The night we went it was packed. We actually had to wait to get in because they were at capacity, but we waited for a few minutes and some people left and we went in. This is a great spot for people watching. It’s truly a dive. They are not mixing up craft cocktails here. It’s a plastic cup kind of establishment. As long as you are not expecting anything remotely fancy(or clean) you will have a great time here because it’s a fun place to grab a casual drink.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year and trust me, you DO want to go here! This local favorite dive bar is covered in lights and holiday décor which is sure to make your holiday season merry and BRIGHT! :) Their drinks are crazy cheap… well cocktails are $ 4.50 and wine is $ 5. Christmas lights and cheap drinks?! DUH, why would you want to go anywhere else during the holidays?! ;) This has become a Thanksgiving and Christmas tradition for my friends and family and I absolutely love it! I know for a fact that i’ll be back a few times this December!

Say what??? How cool is this tiny spot? It is small but large in the fun you will have when you experience this place. We mostly hung outside while getting our beer goggles on and you can’t beat the bright christmas lights that suck you in. Divey and really makes up for the douchey places in Scottsdale. One thing I must say… a dude crop dusted the whole bar. It made for an interesting scene as people slowly backed away from the bar, looking away from each other as if making contact would seem as they may be guilty. The small confined place compacted the smell, which made us more keen on drinking outside.
