Fast and great customer service! Breakfast enchiladas were great and couldn’t leave without trying the blueberry and banana pancakes

Have been here before, with ok results, this morning!!! Wow! what a disappointment. I even waited over ten minutes to pay!!! I could understand if it was busy!!! But there were only a few tables full. Cold toast, with no butter, food? I wont discuss that, bad all around, sorry for the negative, but I spent good money, and was not happy! The man who served us spoke one word the entire time we sat, with no follow up, Waited at the bar to pay, no response, so I then escorted an elderly lady to the car, came back in, and still had to force myself on to the person who served us! to take my money,

First of all the waiter didn’t even greet us. Walked up to our table with her pen and note pad and just looked at us waiting to take are order.(she didn’t say a single word while taking are order). Ordered a BLT and it had no flavor. The bread was so hard it cut my gums when I bit it. It was my first time there. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing? Overall disappointed.

Wonderful service. Great food. Our table had pancakes, a veggie omelet and huevos rancheros. Everyone left full and happy.

This place is going to be the best your going to find for breakfast in the mountain area. Jose and Norma are very nice people. Well the whole staff here are very nice. Food is great. We’ll I like it so much that they know me by name. It’s all good but I have the chicken fried steak most of the time. Don’t forget to look at the special breakfast board.

Not sure why there are negative reviews here. This place is great, exactly what you would expect from an older establishment that has earned their jones. Good food, good service. Start up a conversation with them, engage them, they are actually quite friendly. I had the Corned Beef hash on St. Patty’s, not my fav, but the breakfast was filling and tasty. Went back yesterday for chicken-fried steak with extra gravy on the side! Yummy cholesterol city! It was so good. Higher end of normal pricing, but IMHO quite worthwhile and now in my standard rotation.

Visited this place during our vacation in Santa Cruz. Food was ok. Waitress was curt and unaccommodating. There are many breakfast places in the area and would recommend going elsewhere.

Came to this place to try a local breakfast joint during our vacation. I can’t even remember what I ordered because all I remember was the taste of iron(metal) in my potatoes. My family who loves anything potatoes(fries, hash, scalloped, mashed, etc…) didn’t touched theirs either. We left most of the food on our plate. Paid our bill, still gave the 20% tip and left.

This is one of the best breakfast places I’ve eaten at in a while. They were really helpful with my large group of seven and gave us a table in the back room. The food was well prepared and delicious. Definitely call ahead because it can get busy.

Great food. Great variety. It is located in a plaza in a sort of hideaway spot. According to Unilocal reviewers this is one of the better places in the area. One plus is that they had chicken apple sausages which is one of my favorites but there is a lot more to choose from on the menu. Stop by if you are looking for good food, variety and great service. SURPRISE: I got a complimentary pen with the Auntie Mames brand. Kudos in promoting your business in such a great inexpensive way.

A little shocked at how bad the food was. Everything was overcooked and barely edible. I will never go back to this place. Who wants overdone bacon, eggs, and waffles? How hard could it be to make a simple breakfast? The service was nice and it seemed like a locals spot. Maybe I expected too much or the cook was having a rough day. Either way, they will not be getting my money again. I’d rather go to a chain diner than get overcooked tasteless food. I really don’t want to write a bad review but that was horrible. Never. Again. The second star is for the nice waitress.

The food is great. The set if is terrible. The owner is not a pleasant person. Her son is nice and he’s the best server in the place but you can’t always get him. It needs to be upgraded for sure and really cluttered. But I’ll come back for the food because it’s good.

I’ve read the negative reviews on here about this place and just SMH, really? Did I walk into a different place? I’ve been here 6 or 7 times now before I wrote this review and have not had a bad experience or anything close to some of the negative stuff I see written here. This place ain’t perfect, and for this country boy that’s part of the draw. I’m in retail right around the corner from this place and didn’t pay it much mind until a customer of mine brought me a gift certificate… Thank you so much Darryl! This IS my new spot! this place is better than if I made it myself and that’s saying something! the portions are perfect! I’m a BIG eater, the food is awesome and the atmosphere is friendly and warm. The epitome of small town eatery. Great Job!

Started visiting this cute diner while doing errands. Great value, pretty damn good food favorites and service was nice and quick. I order breakfast plates typically such as bacon and egg plate and the country fried steak plate. They were quite good and had a nice portion size to it. I’d say this is the best Breakfast diner in Scotts Valley! Check it out!

Well, I have given this place multiple chances, but it is bad. I’m not sure how it won the rewards that it boasts on its walls for Valley Fave. For the service, it was slow and our server(the woman) was a little… harsh. One example was when she wanted to get our drink order, she stood behind me and slapped my shoulder to get my attention. It’s not like I was distracted or ignoring her. I was just looking at the menu! My boyfriend and I were a little stunned that this was her method for approaching a table. Another weird thing is that she didn’t even look at us after asking for our drink order. She kept looking over her shoulder and then she walked away, so we didn’t know if she was even listening or not. Many of the Unilocal reviews state that she provides rude customer service and they are completely accurate! They also have a policy where you write down the tip on a piece of paper before they ring you up. She told us where to write it(so we did), but then she forgot to enter the tip in the transaction I guess. She then muttered a bunch of frustrations to herself and then stormed off. It was awkward to say the least. We ended up just leaving a cash tip. Even though it was terrible service, it would have felt weird to not leave anything. For the food, I ordered eggs, French toast, bacon, and toast. My boyfriend ordered the eggs benedict. It took foreverrrr to get the food. When it finally came, my over-medium eggs were over-cooked, the eggs benedict was under-cooked, the toast was very hard(like a biscotti) and very dry, the bacon was like eating rocks, the hollandaise had too much dill, and the French toast was OK. It was disappointing to have waited so long for that. Overall, I’m confused why people like this place. I think it might just be nostalgic for some, or maybe they like the historic photos that decorate the place? It’s really poor quality food. I’m thinking maybe people just haven’t branched out and tried all the other breakfast places that are WAY better and have higher standards. I do not recommend this place. Go somewhere else. 2 stars because the food was edible. Not good, but edible.

Had a craving for breakfast, so made the trek to Scotts Valley. Had the Bloody beer with the Jim’s Special. Best bloody beer in a long time! Scramble was delicious, home fries are on point, and the biscuits and gravy were very good. Dog friendly, and the staff/service is great. Will definitely come back again!

My wife and I were out for a drive to the coast and left early to get ahead of the traffic. We decided to stop in Scotts Valley for breakfast. We decided to try Auntie Mame’s and were glad that we did! They serve very good and reasonably priced food. The location is right on the main road to Felton, in what appears to be an old bar. I confirmed with one of the staff that indeed in a former life the restaurant was indeed a bar. It has a nice wooden counter that was the actual bar. The restaurant was full of people around 10am when we arrived, but we were seated immediately at one of the few remaining inside tables. There are also some outside tables available. I decided to have the #1(2 eggs with home fried potatoes, biscuits, and gravy) for $ 6.75. My wife decided on the #8 scramble($ 9.25) and substituted a pancake instead of toast(for an extra $ 1). Interestingly, on the printed menu they have anticipated most all substitutions and have a price for every sort of substitution. The food was served very quickly after ordering. So fast, it seemed surprising, given the crowd. They seem to have a very efficient kitchen. The food was very good with the only room for improvement being that the home fried potatoes needed to be cut in more bite sized pieces(they were huge hunks); of course, some quick cuts with my knife rendered them into the appropriate sizes for eating. The gravy was fantastic! Make sure that you try the biscuits and gravy or anything with the gravy! I recommend this place as a great place for breakfast in the Scotts Valley area.
