Fun place, very homey, and yummy food. The mini dogs are my favorite. The employees are always welcome and polite to you. I highly recommend this to anyone. Lol

This is a spot my kids love as much as I do. The owners take pride in what they do. All of the food is cooked to order. It’s not sitting in a pile on the grill. The restaurant is clean and plus there’s an arcade. Win, win. Try the dogs loaded with cheese and the Ruben dog. They only thing better would be jerry Garcia sat with me and shared the loaded tater tots.

I’ve gone several times now and I’m a big hotdog fan. The dogs there are excellent and hey continue to add new special dogs and daily specials. If you’re in Scotia definitely support this local business!

Looks awesome! Small selection but super affordable prices! Check out the pictures I added of the menu. Exactly what we expected, and fun! Toppings for dogs include: meat sauce, sauerkraut, cheese, cheddar(liquid) cheese, onions, mustard, ketchup, relish etc. Also available: burgers, Philly dogs, nachos, fries, tots, onion rings! Very fun interior! Definitely will be back.

«Once in a while you get the shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right…» While Rt 50 in Scotia isn’t necessarily«the strangest of places» The Grateful Dawg is definitly the light when it comes to friendly service and darn good mini hotdogs. My 14 year old son and I went a few weeks back and when we walked up to the counter the co-owner(Paul?) handed him a handfull of colored markers and told him to write something on the wall… Homerun with a 14 year old(of course my heart was in my throat wondering what anatomical diagram he was going to draw) but he suprised me and just wrote his name… The mini dogs are really good! Think Hot Dog Charlies but 98% better! The buns are steamed but not mushy, the sauce holds its own on the natural casing dogs and you can tell they actually take a bit of time in preperation, they don’t just throw the dogs on a plate. «Gotta get back to the Grateful Dawg…» soon!

I have to preface this review by acknowledging that I’ve only been to the Grateful Dawg once and it was the day of their grand opening. So with that said, I was very pleased with this new addition to Mohawk Ave(AKA downtown Scotia). The ambiance was eclectic, but hey, it’s a Greatful Dead inspired hotdog joint! The mini dogs were good, a little bigger than I was expecting based on my experiences with mini dogs at other capital region establishments. The buns were good, and not soggy, which is always important. The sauce for the dogs was good, but seemed to missing something. It wasn’t bad, just not as flavorful as I was expecting. The tater tots were awesome, golden brown and crunchy. The service was quick and friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. It’s cash only, but that shouldn’t be a problem, I think I got 4 hot dogs and a drink for under $ 5. Overall I had a good experience and will be going back.
