Are there on two occassions. First time had a sandwich is was good second time I had one of the worst breakfast buffets I have ever had. The pancakes were white, the French toast looked like toasted Texas toast and was hard as a brick, and the eggs were gray. It’s was bad enough that I actually sent it back and left. The staff was friendly nonetheless so I would maybe consider going back just never again during brunch.

Frankie P. You must be the Unilocal Hoverer, who stalks Unilocal to rebut honest reviews of your establishment and call the customer a liar. Well you are right, I am embarrassed that I stooped down to the level of your unprofessional staff. You are also correct that I told the owner to shut his mouth. If he would’ve just came over to diffuse the situation instead of throwing grease on an already volatile situation that would have never happened. I will not ever stand by and let someone disrespect my mother even when she was completely in the wrong. As for ever stepping foot in your establishment you definitely won’t have to worry about that. Looking at the multitude of the establishments one and two star reviews you won’t be around much longer anyways. Lastly, if you can honestly prove that the young man did not receive a proper tip that night I will gladly mail a money order to him for the amount plus 30 percent ASAP. Good luck with your future endeavors.

We’re starting to get into a good habit of frequenting this place. We were able to eat out on the patio. That left us feeling like we were dining in the Bahamas. The Father’s Day special brunch was over the top. We were able to enjoy such a wide variety of every type of Meat and Fish and other Seafood so expertly prepared. I think they do the best job in the area for preparing salmon. Then the selection of fruit really impressed us, and tasted very fresh. They treated us to fresh mimosas that were of the best quality with no skimping. Finally, the desert feast was incredible. What a Baker’s Paradise. I applaud the young staff who were very attentive. We are certainly going to put this establishment on our regular list. I hope they make this a regular Sunday option, starting at 10:00 maybe, hint, hint?

I gave it another try. The food was sup par. If I come back again, it will be only for drinks. They need better cooks!!! I explained this to my server and in quotes” They are preparing for Father’s Day, and other patrons have complained as well”. Me: Blank Stare. Sorry but I will not eat here again .’

So grill stone is okay for food. I’ll tell ya what left a bad taste in my mouth. It wasn’t the food. It was the way I saw perhaps a manager treat one of the servers. He was berating her and I don’t like that crap. Then another server was asking for a break as she was working a double and he told her no. Granted she may have tables but these are people not machines. The servers don’t look happy and this is why… they probably get treated the same way I saw this guy treat the two workers He spoke to her in a way that made this my first and last time coming here. And that’s all I have to say on this place… In a restaurant business, EVERYTHING is noticed, not just the food. It’s the ambience, the service, the attitudes, the music. The whole atmosphere. The service stinks here Bc the people running it don’t know how to treat their workers. As an update to my review and a response to Frank… That may be true in most cases, which I don’t fully endorse, but that doesn’t take away the experience I had. I know what I saw and what I heard, and quite frankly, neither myself or the other diner w me enjoyed the sideshow. Perhaps, you should start observing some of your managers and see if they all have the same sentiment as you… Unless of course, that WAS you that day. And understaffing«these people» on purpose… Well, that speaks for itself. P. S. I was not in anyway paid to write a review, but good try!!!

Great food, service and drinks! Amazing happy hour specials. Checked out live band Evil Twin they were great as well! Also, went here for brunch before. Had both buffet and omelette and waffle station.

Very nice décor and upscale looking. We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and had the lunch specials which were reasonably priced and good size portions. The warm apple crisp is perfect for 2 people and only 7 bucks and tastes amazing. My wife had the salmon and said it was delicious. I had the cheesesteak which was pretty good and a big sandwich. The potato soup was also delicious as a starter. I will be back soon to try dinner as the steaks dishes look good on the menu but are a bit pricey

Food is mediocre. The burger was nothing great — probably frozen. It was suspiciously irregularly shaped. To me that means it’s frozen and mis-shaped to make it look homemade. The artisan roll was not even fresh and sliced poorly so it was difficult to eat. My opinion is a hamburger should be served on a soft bun. The artisan roll business is a waste and the burger just does not come together when you are fighting with the roll.

Interesting place. A few selections of craft beer to choose from. A pretty extensive menu and generous seating. It can get loud and the night I was there the kid friendliness was out of control at a large table with running around, under the table, and screaming antics, but alas waiters are not parents. The food was surprisingly good and the most notable thing for everything ordered was the portion sizes — as in they were generally too large. Taking stuff home for sure. The Buffalo Calamari on the special menu was great. The ‘side’ caesar was particularly good, and the main course of short rib over potato was much better than expected. The pricing is odd. $ 14 for the calamari might be expensive for an appy but not for the portion they serve. $ 3.50 for a size salad is cheap — but the size you get is much larger than I would call a side. $ 24.95 for the short rib seems expensive but, again, not for the portion you get. Towards the tail end of dinner there was also live entertainment starting up and the weather was ALMOST warm enough to think about taking some time on their outside deck area.

Never actually gave this place a review. Well better late than never! Dined here with friends about a year ago, was a great experience. Server was knowledgeable and the food was excellent, «that I had». Server also recommended the sangria special which was a pretty good deal for a whole jug. It was a Friday and the place was a mad house. Service was very slow, I give 4 star because we would have to flag down our waitress for a refill or extra utensils after they took away the one we used with appetizers. Otherwise to that it wasn’t a bad experience. I could do without the amateur singers they had doing Karaōke it was very noisy and ear piercing, their voices sound like a pack of hyenas and blood hounds wrestling for Chris Christies shin bone! Definitely not somewhere to go for a quiet evening out to enjoy civil conversations with friends or date, all the chattering will make you try to talk over everyone in the restaurant which adds to the loudness.

I’m not sure if I’ve ever been so divided on what to give a restaurant. The food was pretty good but the service was awkward and slow. We made reservations for 6PM and we got a table right when we walked in. By the time we left around 8PM there were only 4 tables occupied in the whole place. The food was pretty good and I would say the quality was alright. I had the chicken parm individual pizza. It was much bigger than I thought it would be. The flavor was alright, but I could find a better pizza closer to home. My girlfriend had a burger that she said was alright. The food aside, the service was awful. It was slow and the waitress we had was awkward and really made me feel like she didn’t want to be there. First of all, there weren’t a lot of people in the restaurant when we got there, but for some reason it took the waitress about 15 minutes to come to our table to take our drink order. Also, she would not accept ID’s for drinks, rather, she wanted to see a second from of identification. She only did this for people with ID’s that were vertical and had not been changed when the person reached 21, but it was still annoying and added more time to an already slow service. Add another 10 min to come back with the actual drinks and we were there for nearly a half hour before we even got the chance to order. We put in or food order and she forgot that we ordered the wings. It took 20 more minutes to come back and realize that she needed to put them in. I would say it was close to an hour and a half before we got our entrees. Again, when we wanted the check it tool forever for her to collect the cards and then bring back the bill. What really annoyed me was that when she wasn’t at our table she was nowhere to be seen. Overall, the food was good, but the service really made me not want to come back to this place. To be blunt, I would not come back. The lack of service does not make up for the food that I could get closer to home. If you do go here, set aside time, because you may grow old before you get to eat!

Ordered wings, nachos, and surf and turf steak. Really bad, to be honest. Probably lots of microwave involved… Pretty cheap on Thursdays for happy hour but otherwise food quality is definitely below average.

I went there to celebrate a friend’s birthday. I didn’t think the happy hour drinks were worthwhile. The atmosphere was nice & the happy hour food menu was decent. I had the pizza and for $ 5 it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great. I would go back to sample other things on the menu.

My girlfriend and I have been wanting to try this out for a while. Finally, we decided to have lunch after seeing a movie in Mountainside. When we walked into the vestibule, it had a strange smell. Probably the area rug in there, since it went away once we entered the dining room, but still… bad first impression. Next, there were two older women behind the host desk, backs turned to us. They saw us walk in, and continued to hang up decorations, and completely ignored our presence! Did not greet us at all! We stood there for at least four or five minutes until a server noticed us there and took us to a booth. The server we had wasn’t rude or anything, but was barely attentive. Once we placed our order finding anyone to help us was like spotting a unicorn. We got our food, my girlfriend ordered a pizza, and I ordered a burger. The pizza tasted good but was not crisp at all, and the veggies on it were cut strangely large, which I thought was an interesting choice by the kitchen staff. Also the veggies were barely seasoned. I had a burger, which tasted really good, but the roll it was served on would’ve been perfect… yesterday. It was very stale. Not once did anyone return to ask us how our stay was thus far. Once we decided we wanted our bill, we sat and watched employee after employee walk right past us, and avert eye contact, as to not be bothered by our requests. And we sat for an additional 15 minutes waiting just to request our check. .

This review will not be based on their food. I called this restaurant at 8:11PM in order to see how long the wait was. The receptionist told me 35 minutes so I said put me down for party of two on 35 minutes. She put me on hold and then said okay. Took my information down and said I was all set. I drove there only to be informed, «we don’t have a reservation under your name.» If you are extremely busy, then make sure to cover your tracks. They called the manager over only for him to promptly run away the next opportunity that presented itself. It’s a shame this happened because I was in fact looking forward to trying their food. I hope to update this review if that day comes. For now, poor display of service from the front desk.

I’ve been to Grillestone on two different occasions to enjoy the live band, The Jonzes. Very cool place to come on the weekend for good food and music in an upscale atmosphere. Great cocktails and beers on tap. They seem to always be running a special on wine, vodka cocktails or other drinks depending on the night. We’ve had a few different apps and haven’t been disappointed. The nachos were great and big enough to feed a family of 4. I haven’t tried any of the entrees yet or the sushi menu but i will be back — everything that we saw come out looked great! If you’re looking for somewhere new to go, I would give Grillestone a try.

My wife and I had an early Saturday dinner here. Right off the bat, our silverware was dirty, and my glass of water had something white floating in it. I ordered a bottle of Pabst beer from the drink menu, but the waiter said we only have it in cans. I said fine, so he brings me a dented pop-top can of beer and doesn’t give me a glass. I grab a glass myself from a nearby empty table. I order soup and a salad as my entrée, and my wife orders grilled salmon over parmesan rice with a side salad. The corn chowder was gloppy and too salty, and, typically, not hot enough. No crackers were served with it, and then I realize that we are the only table in sight that was not given a basket of bread and butter, either. Whatever. My chipolte chicken salad was a huge portion. The chicken strips were dry and chewy, but the lettuce, grape tomatoes, red onions, avocado, and ranch dressing made it OK for a light meal. My wife’s salmon looked good, and was cooked medium as ordered, but she said the rice was gummy. The waiter tried hard – too hard. It was late afternoon before the evening rush, so he must have been bored. Besides taking our orders and serving the food, he literally came over to us six or 7 times during our meal to ask if everything was OK. After the first couple of times, as I was eating, I just nodded, and then it became annoying. All in all, this highway pub has a mediocre chain restaurant vibe, some interesting craft beers on tap, and prices slightly higher than the experience deserves. My wife, who has had lunch here several times before says the place has slipped. I might give it another chance, but am in no hurry to do so.

I have been wanting to go forever. The place looks gorgeous from the outside. The inside is amazing. Cozy booths or table seating. I love sitting in booths. The menu is great, I had the mussels with jalapeños, dozen oysters, NY strip steak, crab cakes, and my guest had the BBQ chicken. The presentation was key. Beautifully plated, oh also had some martinis. The food was good, it reminded me of typical diner food(taste wise). The waiter went out of his way to accommodate my request for feta stuffed olives by stuffing them himself! I don’t think I would go back, with the tip it was over $ 160 for two people. For the price I would go somewhere else like Morton’s.

This is an interesting place, in a good way. They have a fairly decent sized bar, lots of restaurant tables, and an outdoor bar with seating area. Several nights a week they have specials as well as live music. The prices are higher than normal for the area, but the décor and atmosphere is higher than normal as well. They have drinks called«fishbowls» for sangria and margaritas which are served in, well, fishbowls ! I had the strawberry, and it was good. I wouldn’t want to drive home after having two lol The place is easy to find, being on the west bound side of route 22. The parking lot is fairly big with ample parking. There are two tvs in the outside bar, so it’s a good place to watch baseball while being outdoors. All in all, a decent place, and I’ll be back. One comment on the band tonight — being an oldies band it pulls an older crowd. A classic rock band might pull some younger people.
