Very expensive, for the price I paid you would expect they would supply bait… NOPE, We were told to «catch our own bait». In four hours my group only caught 1 fish probably because the lack of bait thing. What a rip off! Don’t bother going.

Greg S’s follow-​up is just as shallow as their initial response. I called MASS BAY GUIDES while I was still on their awful boat when the Labrador captain instructed his mate to reel the lines to return early. Mass Bay never answered, and more importantly, NEVER RETURNED MY CALL despite myself leaving a very detail phone message (like this review). I believe I called TWICE and was never contacted or offered a penny in return for our $ 1,250 we spent for this AWFUL EXPERIENCE. I hope a full refund is provided more than just saying so here on Unilocal to try to help your sinking reputation. We do not want to go out on your boat again, and would advise everyone else to never «fish» with Mass Bay Guides. We perfectly understood there is no guarantee to catch fish — which is no where near our hardships with Mass Bay Guides either.
What we did not appreciate is being lied to about the price (we were initially told it was $ 950 then charged more). We were extensively lied to about the captains fishing history and recent catches (doubtful this captain has ever caught a 900 pound tuna nevermind the week before as Wendy had said to get me to book this charter in the 1^st place). The captain tried to cut the charter over an hour early for the same payment. He refused to drop more than 2 line for 6 people. The extremely used and old lures broke and he did not have back-​ups of the same. His attitude towards us was DEPLORABLE and UNPROFESSIONAL. The office booking was just as bad. Wendy lied about the travel times to go out to fish on this single engine, slow, smelly, OLD and NOISY boat. The mates tip was pretty much demanded instead of the «tip» it should have been. The boat is old and in deplorable condition — specifically with no seat to reel in a big fish if you ever did catch one on this «boat». I made a point to ask questions about the engine, travel time, # of lines to be fished, etc. because the other charters made their selling points about having these features. Wendy said things that just were not true, and the Labrador captain was absolutely NASTY about not delivering on many of them, nevermind the lack of not catching any tuna, not even one bite of a tuna for the entire day after being devastated about the sham we were paying for.
This day/​weekend was ruined for us. My family traveled FOUR HOURS ONE WAY, paid for a hotel, had meals, etc. — major expense to have this outing which turned out to be a total sham for the $ 1,250 total we paid for. We should have never had to beg to be provided what was advertised and what we were paying for. The captain should have never demanded $ 250 more than advertised PLUS demanding an additional $ 200 tip for his mate.
Please provide us a refund and think twice about the services of this captain or Wendy’s in your office. It is awful to lie to customers to get them to book or spend $$$ with you, and even worse, to treat your customers who have gone through so much to enjoy their day — treat them so horribly once you have them trapped on your boat and stuck with the atrocity of Mass Bay Guides AWFUL SERVICE!!!
