the beef jerky was great little pricey but we’ll worth it. the restaurant small but the food is equally outstanding. I’ll be back for more of that jerky

Not what we expected when we arrived but the food was outstanding! The only negative was that service was a little slow.

stop in and get the lunch or dinner buffet, the food here is fantastic, the buffet isn’t really big, but the quality more than makes up for it, im not a bread pudding fan, but all I can say is that ive tried to get their recipe every time I go here. The staff is great and the place has a welcome home feel. defenently stop in and check it out… maybe I will see you there next time im thru there

We saw the sign on our way from San Antonio to Houston and decided to stop there because we’re starving!!! The place was cute, like an old german place, it was clean and the service good. I ordered the buffet because it includes a pretty varied salad bar. The ribs were dry and flavorless but the sausages were good. Don’t forget to try The breads… They are YUMMI!

We stopped and picked up a couple of kolaches and apple strudel — disappointing kolaches, delicious strudel!!! Coffee might as well have been water.

Food was ok but service was awful! We are traveling with a dog and my daughter ordered a baked potato with barbecue which she had to eat k. It was packaged in a flimsy container that broke under the weight of the heavy potato. It ruined her brand new outfit and I took it to the manager who said simply” it’s not our fault”, no kindness or commiseration watsoever! Never will stop her again!!!

I have only been here for the breakfast buffet but I have been a LOT! This is some genuine home cookin! Everything is hot and fresh and the staff is very friendly! Although they don’t have pancakes and waffles on the buffet, if you ask you can have them made to order– the best way to enjoy them! Definitely make a stop here if you are in the area. They have a cute gift shop as well and snacks for the road.

I love stopping in here on the way to San Antonio or Austin, as I always order some type of kolache. Their sausage kolaches are better than their fruit or cream cheese ones in my opinion. I put Weikel’s and Oakridge’s kolaches in a side by side taste test and Weikel’s wins easily. The pineapple in the pineapple kolache for instance seems to be a canned jelly sugary pineapple mixture, where as at Weikel’s its much fresher. Also, their dough isn’t the best either. So in summary, if you stop to get a kolache, try their sausage kolaches. I’ve never eaten inside the restaurant, but maybe I will one day when I have time.

Had stopped for the breakfast on a previous trip and loved the down home southern flair. Tried the dinner buffet this time. Friday is fish night. Wow. fish was excellent. Fresh. Potatoes were home style mashed with lumps… dont need the gravy. I’m usually pretty anti-buffets but the exception this time was worth it. Everything tasted home made and you know its good when the whole place is silent cause everyone is eating and appreciating the meal. Kids pointed that out.

The service was mediocre. The tea tasted gross. We waited 20 minutes for reheated brisket. The mac’n cheese was seriously terrible. The BBQ sauce tasted like Tabasco. The potato salad and bread was okay. Best part of the meal was the pickles and they don’t even make ‘em here. Do they really believe that we don’t know the difference between fresh and reheated brisket? Absolutely ridiculous for 11.95/lb.

Hostess are rude. 8:24p the teenager informed us «we are closed». Really? The hours on line and on the door state you are open until 9p. We aren’t going to argue with someone who clearly could careless. They turned away several groups of people as well.

Best Breakfast in Texas!!! Small mom & pop place with big time selection and helpings. Fresh home made from scratch everything from the buffet is delicious, even if you border from the menu, the food is still made to order and just as good. Definitely worth the drive which ever direction your coming from!!!

This might be one of the best buffets between San Antonio and Houston. Great food great prices I eat here twice a month at least.

Excellent buffet anytime of day. Good home cooking and plenty to eat. I have never left this place when I was not stuffed. It has a nice gift shop and sells fresh breads and pastries as well. The mens restroom has always been disappointing to me, so much that I would rate it just two stars. Often times I choose to eat at Franks which is near by solely because of below standard bathroom. The food rates 5 stars.

This place is Awesome!!! Stopped here for breakfast buffet, reasonable price $ 8.95 for biscuits, eggs with sausage bits, regular eggs, bacon, sausage links, ham, sausage patty, toast, hash browns, fruit, juice. The preserves are wonderful. I tried strawberry, apricot(great flavor) and peach(chunks of peaches!!) I would say make this a stop if you are on the interstate

I’ve been to this place 2 or 3 times in my life and it has just been ok. Took my mom today for lunch and had the buffet. The salad was fresh and very good. So I was excited to try the rest of their food. Just blah! Sausage had way to much grease, mashed potatoes had no taste even with gravy, sauerkraut was ok. Place also needs a little refreshing from the years of being there. I will not go back!

Surprisingly good barbecue out in the middle of nowhere(I-10 exit #674 in Schulenburg, Texas). The portions were ample, the barbecue & the trimmings were all excellent. They have a good selection of home made desserts too. The parking lot was full and the patrons were all fat and happy. We will be back.

Thanksgiving food on a buffet is the best way to describe it. If I didn’t have to drive for 2 hours after eating here I would have asked for a pillow.
