Town Square is a little shopping center at the intersection of Roselle and Schaumburg Roads with a few shops, restaurants, and services. I love Cup & Vine and have recently discovered the cute consignment shop, but there isn’t much for me here except for those two places and the Farmer’s Market(which is awesome). The shops are too specialized and the restaurants aren’t my thing. Compared to other shopping centers in the area, this could do a lot better(I’ve seen a few empty storefronts…). Yes, there’s a pond with a fountain and a few walking paths, but I’d rather go to Spring Valley Nature Sanctuary down the road for that kind of thing. Oh well. To each their own.

This is a very nice area to come and read a book you just picked up from the library, eat an ice cream from Obewiess, or sip a coffee you picked up from Cup and the Vine. This is also right by the Farmer’s Market if you happen to catch it on a Friday in season. There are many places to sit and eat and enjoy the day.

Very cute area! Nice fountains, landscaping, and a great place to relax and bring your lunch to a scenic spot & enjoy! They do fun summer concerts & events here too, and it is a quaint little area to hang out with friends, family, or even stroll through on a date! Lots of stores to check out & it’s right by the Schaumburg Township District Library! Nice little gem of an area, we frequently find ourselves here. :)

My review is of the commons area of the Town Square in Schaumburg… the Town Square itself is a shopping center, anchored by the Dominick’s in one of the plazas, hosting various restaurants(Bonefish Grill, Oberweiss, Menchie’s, Applebee’s) and a variety of other businesses(Hair Cuttery, Sylvan Learning Center, Consignment/Resale, Lester Starr Jewelers). The Schaumburg Township District Library is located in this area as well. We’ve been here many times not just for the restaurants, but to enjoy the Commons area. It’s an open public square centered with a very pretty fountain/pond. Walking paths and beautiful landscaping and gardens/planting/flower beds surround the pond, and many of the businesses have back doors that open up into the Common square. In the warmer weather, the Town Square hosts entertainment including music and dancing. We spent almost 2 hours here on Saturday afternoon 2 weeks ago(the first peek at beautiful weather) and came back again that Sunday, just enjoying the sun and weather and sitting near the pond. On one side of the square is a covered gazebo, perfect for enjoying ice cream or frozen yogurt in the shade while duck-watching in the pond. Steps lead down to the water near the gazebo and my kids love sitting on the steps and feeding the ducks. Directly across the gazebo on the other side of the pond is a tiered grassy picnic area… perfect for enjoying an outdoor concert or sitting outside and reading. A splash fountain(water shoots up from the ground) lines another side of the square(on the Oberweiss side), and kids can play and jump in the water here. This side also has pretty bridges over small stone waterfalls. Tons of benches for sitting all around the square, and ample parking(aside from the business area parking lots). There was a lot of activity in the Town Square on this particular weekend… lots of kids coming from the library, or families/couples/friends having ice cream or frozen yogurt and just sitting and enjoying the scenery like we were. The large clock tower chimed at every quarter hour and it felt like a friendly downtown community. The planting beds haven’t yet bloomed, but we can’t wait to come back in the summer when they have. We’ve been here so many times before, but never appreciated it the way we did recently. We’ve been back almost every week this month and it’s become our ritual to stop by after our weekly library visit.
