Friendly staff and good huge portions for breakfast or brunch :)

We went there this weekend and were shocked to find out that the restaurant has been sold. We ordered and asked for crispy hash browns, what we received were barely cooked much less crispy. My one son had his usual Chicken Fingers and commented, «They were different.» My other two sons had their usual orders without issue. My wife tried eating hers but only could eat half of her breakfast skillet… I refused. The owner did take care of the bill and asked for me to keep an open mind and try and come back… we might but it will be a bit before we do. The usual wait staff were in place but already some painting had been done and the bridge mural that was there is gone… a portent of things to come?

I love little breakfast cafes and nooks and after trying a bunch of places in the area, Old Bridge tops them all in flavor and affordability. The staff is friendly and welcoming and everything I’ve tried has been homey and satisfying. OBC quickly became my only breakfast stop.

Plan B turned out to be a winner! Since Wildberry had over an hour wait at 12:30ish on a Sunday, we quickly Unilocaled(holla!) brunch options close by. OBC popped up, and we jetsetted over to Golf and Higgins. I loved that you could upgrade your pancake side to red velvet(my choice!), chocolate chip, or anything else for an extra $ 1.29 or so. Those babies turned out to be better than Wildberry’s rv too. Booyah. My skillet was piping hot, though the star of the meal was really the hot cakes. K really enjoyed his create-your-own omelet(3 meats and mushrooms) and put this place in his top couple brunch spots! The other great part of the meal was how quick, efficient, and to the point the waitress was. Kudos.

Stopped by here for the first time on a busy Saturday morning. We were seated immediately and our waitress Tracey was there almost immediately. She is an awesome server, and the rest of the wait and bussing staff were excellent also. The food was flawless — stuffed French toast full of perfect strawberries, pumpkin bread that fine line between sweet and savory. My husband and friend had dishes that included the sausage gravy, and almost licked the plate! Definitely a place we would go again!

Walked in to a mostly empty diner to be ignored by the waitress. I was seated, given coffee and a menu then again ignored as she was busy chatting with regulars. the owner looked at me and saw my frustration. After telling him I just wanted to pay for my coffee and leave he convinced me to stay. Well I should have left… I ordered a clientele omelette. Portions are large. The chorizo had little flavor from what I could tell. It takes a deft hand with use of cilantro and the eggs were packed with it mixed with a few peppers. This over powered the dish. Not at all balanced or appealing. Toast was cold as well. Hash browns were under cooked and mushy. If you go… avoid the omelette I had and hope for a more attentive staff.

This is a nice place to go in Schaumburg. Your typical Greek-style restaurant with a large menu to choose from. All your favorites from soups to sandwiches. Large portion sizes as alluded to in previous reviews will satiate the most ravenous appetite.

First time to Old Bridge Café and it was good overall. Came in a hot steamy day of 100. The staff was friendly and made conversation which is great. I ordered the skillet and my wife ordered the omelet. Portion is pretty big plus it comes with either pancakes or toast, your decision. Good atmosphere and the décor is nice. Had a pleasant overall experience and would come back. We had a coupon for buy one get one half off coupon which took off $ 4 dollar off our meal so it was $ 10 per person with tip.

Phfold Brriddge Caaaaffffe… that’s how I say Old Bridge Café when I’m leaving the restaurant because I have to muscle through the newly acquired fat in my gullet. This is delicious, massively portioned diner food at its best. I ordered a «3 egg omelet» and it came out the size of Nerf football. I went long and my wife passed it through the air, and«touchdown!» it landed right in my belly. Thanks for the extra 5 lbs Old Bridge. Gap Jeans thanks you for the business!

This is your classic suburban diner. The food is great, the staff is really nice, and their coffee is delicious. You’re not going to find oat cakes or fingerling potatoes on the menu(at least I don’t think so) but they have something for everyone and they make it well. I really love this place and I think the food is really tasty. I’ve had many things off the menu and never a bad meal. The portions are HUGE!!! It’s not a super-budget joint(maybe $ 12 – 15 per person with drinks and tip), but it’s definitely a good value for what you get. They have coupons available through their website and email list too.

Decided to give this place a try today and won’t be back anytime soon. The«meat lovers skillet» was not good at all. The hashbrowns were overcooked and the ham was hash not ham. The eggs were salty and over all it was bland. The toast could have been mistaken for charcoal briquettes. The open faced turkey sandwich came with beef gravy not turkey gravy. Maybe it was an off day but I doubt it.

Every time I’m here the food and service is outstanding. Today I tried the portobennie, this new twist on an old favorite includes a generous portion of sliced portabella goat cheese, asparagus then topped with two poached eggs just the right amount of hollandaise and hash browns on the side. It was amazing:-) The staff was all smiles as usual. My waitress was prompt and courtious. She suggested that I try the portabennie and informed me about some new specials that I can try next time. Another great breakfast at old bridge thanks again.

First time back since the grand re-opening. The décor is still old fashioned but I like the tre-ceiling. This place is a hot spot for the elderly and their extended families. The menu is extensive with breakfast, lunch and daily specials The timing to go grab a bite to eat was off. I started with coffee with every intention of having breakfast. I had an ADD moment and ordered off their lunch menu instead. Coffee and lunch do not compliment each other. I chose to order from their Pick Two menu: for $ 5.99, it included a ½ BLT sandwich and a bowl of their homemade cream of chicken and rice soup. The soup needed some pepper but overall the meal was delicious. Other Pick Two items range from $ 5.25-$ 7.99. You get to choose from a variety of ½ sandwiches with your choice of a dinner salad, small caeser salad or a bowl of homemade soup of the day. Jason ordered the Iron Man: for $ 9.50, it included a side of salsa, a fresh fruit cup and a choice of multi grain toast or mulit grain pancakes with vegetable omelette made with egg whites. It needed a little Tobasco but overall it was very good.

I’ve been here a handful of times and the food was decent, prices reasonable and it is the closest«diner» near my house. Amazing how one waitress can ruin an entire experience though. The past two times I have gone with my daughter I have had the same, rude waitress who’s attitude is so terrible I don’t want to go back and even chance running into her again. I ordered off the kids menu the chocolate pancakes which comes with a strip of bacon. I order this every time I go there with my daughter so nothing new. She brings the pancakes, throws it on the table and walks away. I finally flag her down and ask her about the bacon. She proceeds to yell at me telling me I didn’t TELL her bacon. I tell her it is on the menu. Then she proceeds to yell again about how I need to tell her to put bacon on there. She then goes to the kitchen yells at the cook that she has a table that didn’t tell her that they wanted bacon and now she needs them to cook it up. Really? For a piece of bacon you are going to rant and rave? She was horrible from start to finish and I will never be back. HORRIBLE!

I read the reviews before I came here. I’m a big brunch fan so since it’s so close to home, we decided to try it. We were seated right away. It reminds me of any old diner. The servers are a bit older, friendly, and attentive. We ordered a Mediterranean Omelet and a Steak Skillet. The skillet wasn’t the best, kind of bland but okay. Wouldn’t order it again. The omelet was good with sun-dried tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, and onions. I’m still thinking about my Fresca at Wildberry or the veggie at Honey Jam.(Wish there was a Honey Jam near Schaumburg!) The tomato juice here was very fresh and not too salty. The crepes and frittats sounded so good. If you get an entrée… I don’t recommend the pancakes at all. They were not fluffy but very grainy and a bit salty. It stuck to the roof of your mouth. Oh we also started with the french onion soup. Unlike most other places it had no cheese. I love the cheese and bread crumbs! But we had ours in a bread bowl. They had to bring the bread bowl separately which I thought was a bit ridiculous. We had to pour the soup ourselves. The server said it was because the bread bowl would fall apart? Which makes no sense because once we poured the soup, it was fine. It didn’t break apart. Regardless, it was still very good… homemade for sure! Didn’t like the pancakes but maybe some french toast or waffles next time? Only wish the omelets had more ingredients or cheese. Would have tried a veggie omelet but it lacked some veggies and cheese. I don’t mind adding cheese(swiss or provolone)… maybe I’ll give it a go next time. It wasn’t super crowded but it wasn’t dead either. Price is about average for a brunch place. They have wi-fi too!!!

EXCELLENT breakfast place. We have never been here for any other meal, but we love coming here for a comforting breakfast. Servers are always super nice and attentive. Food comes out quickly and tastes fantastic Cute diner atmosphere Really good coffee with International Coffee Creamers Oh, and they carry Chalula, my fiancé’s favorite hot sauce, so he especially loves it here. Food is very reasonably priced – I usually go home with leftovers :)
