Purchased a bag of cheddar cheese popcorn and a bag of specialty almond corn. The cheese was moist and by the next day the entire bag was stale and chewy. Bad batch or crappy quality?

I always like Garrett Popcorn but this branch sells stale cheese popcorn in the afternoon. Too bad… If you have no choice and flying from midway airport, buy popcorn here.

I think garrets popcorn is fantastic!!! Maybe I went on a slow day, but the line wasn’t very long. I went during the week. And I have had both chicago and wood field mall popcorns, they both taste the same to me, fresh and delicioso!!! the bag never lasts more then 1 day so I don’t have the chance to see if it goes stale or not. The workers weren’t the friendliest but the popcorn made up for that, they weren’t bad or anything, they just didn’t seem to enthusiastic about their job. Yummy food!!! I will return!!! No more travel to Chicago for all the good food.

How great is it that we now have a Garrett’s in the suburbs? Three cheers and pass the popcorn! Except, it’s not as good as the ones in the city. There. I said it. I wouldn’t say the popcorn is stale per se. But it’s not as fresh as the city locations where it’s served hot and the topping is literally melting off on your fingers, but you can’t resist digging into that bag despite knowing that you’ll have orange digits the rest of the day. I strategically placed us near a restroom so we could wash our hands after we indulged in our Garrett’s Mix. Sorry, it still sounds weird to call it that. Chicago Mix forever. Anyway. I suspect that perhaps the not-so-fresh taste is because it’s not made on the premises? I dunno. It’s a tiny little stand, and I can’t envision that they have space to make it right there, but I don’t know for sure. All I know is it didn’t taste fresh. The line went pretty fast for us, and all the employees were friendly. The gal who rang me up offered to bag my small bag in a larger paper bag to prevent the wax papery bag from ripping(which I guess is a common thing). I told her it wouldn’t last that long and not to bother. But sadly, we ended up tossing about 1⁄3 of the bag because the flavor just wasn’t that great. Next time we want Garrett’s we’ll just take a trip into the city and leave this location to the tourists.

Yes, it’s the same outstanding popcorn you know from the city locations. BUT the wait time is abysmal. I would say customer to customer, it is literally twice as long a wait as the Loop locations. Today Dylan was the only employee busting it out… One fellow seemed to be watching everything going on, the girl in the DKNY glasses… bagging at a tortoise like rate… Dylan had almost the WHOLELINE bagged, on the counter, awaiting the DKNY girl… and the cashier, well she had 10 packages lined up ready to go and still it was moving at a snail’s pace… They need to get some downtown employees out there to show them how it’s done. And it’s not just me, one fellow commented out loud ‘Dylan is a one man show’… The others did not pick up on it… It was almost like a Union shop. The guy standing there seemed like he only handed out samples and couldn’t assist anyone because it’d be a labor violation or something…
