I used to like the Cubs Clubhouse Store in Woodfield. As a die-hard Cubs fan, I love stores like this because you seem to have everything a fan would want. I used to like this store because I have a place to go to when my wife goes shopping here in Woodfield. But an incident this weekend changed my view of the Chicago Clubhouse Store. On Saturday, April 28, I visited the store. After looking around the store and with merchandise in hand, I notice the Bulls game was being shown on TV. Since my wife was not done with her shopping at the mall, I decided to watch the game until my wife was ready to go. I sat on a bar stool and watched the game, along with other patrons that would come and go in the store. While I was watching the game, a male associate screamed from halfway across the store that he was going to start changing me rent for watching the game. At first, I just took it as a joke until he shut off the monitor a few minutes later. I was shocked. I was angry. Why would you do this? I am in this store because I am a sports fan and I thought you cater to the sports fan. The best part was your«keen and observant» employee failed to notice that I had a Bears jersey I had draped over my knee while watching the game from the bar stool. I purposely did this to flag your associates that I going to make a purchase at the end of my visit. In disgust, I threw what I was going to purchase on the billiard table and walk off the store. This experience completely ruined my day and totally change my view of this store. What was also interesting about this visit was a mother and her son was sitting on that same spot for a good 20 minutes and they were not mistreated in any way. Why was I not treated with the same respect? I was at the very least, going to be a paying customer. Needless to say, I am no longer shopping here again. Why would I go somewhere where I am subjected to unprofessional, juvenile behavior? I am also going to make sure I share this experience my social media friends.

I am not a Cubs fan, not even by a long shot. It would require me to like Baseball or any team from Chicago, which I don’t. I do have friends that are Cubs fans and when I needed to get a couple of Cubs themed gifts for them, this is where I went. They have a large variety of different items that are Cub themed. We saw everything from Trinkets and clothing, to a pool table. They have items from other local teams, Some Bears, Bulls and Blackhawks(no Sox, go figure.) It wasn’t a large selection, and since I wasn’t looking for those teams I didn’t pay much attention. The staff working that day was very helpful and patient with those of us ignorant in Cubs traditions and lore.

Of course I need to stock up on Cubbies gear when in Chicago. Always. They don’t only carry cubs paraphernalia but other teams as well. You would think that such a massive display of sports logos and colors would be overwhelming. Well, it kind of was but I love my Chicago teams so much it was a not a problem. I really wanted that toaster. I couldn’t however carry it back to Miami so I opted for a shirt and a cap instead. Next time I am getting the toaster. Everyone needs a little Cubby luvin’ on their morning toast.

Pretty cool store it is filled with Cubs stuff, along with a few other things I wouldn’t think they would have in there like a kids bedroom set(Chicago Cubs). I ended up buying a Chicago Blackhawks Jersey for my son and a couple other small things for myself. It would be nice if we had a store like this closer to me but then again that could be a bad thing for me. I couldn’t find a web address for the store and there wasn’t one on there business card. They have another store at the Water Tower Place the number there is(312)-335−0807
