Chase Bank

There are no bankers at this location. You have to go to the location at Schaumburg and Meachum to do anything more than deposit a couple bucks in your account. So why don’t they just have an ATM here?

I was at the mall and stopped in this branch to make an important deposit there consisting of three checks. Teller seemed not totally on top of it. Lots of fiddling and not the standard smooth, confident document handling. She had to go back and look at the checks after putting them through the little machine and just did not seem solid about the whole thing. I felt a little nervous but made sure I had a receipt for the correct amount. Next day deposits are in my account, I pay bills. Day after that, the deposits and any record of them have completely vanished from my account. Gone. Like they never existed. Poof. My account shows I am massively overdrawn and I’ve been dinged with a host of overdraft fees. Awesome.
Four hours, a long, unhelpful phone call, several messages, and a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau later, Chase put my money back but still can’t tell me what happened. And I still can’t stop thinking about how I had never felt uncomfortable or worried making a deposit before but I did that day. Related? I dunno. But I will never let this place touch my money again.

Most malls don’t hold Chase banks/ATM’s for some reason.
I’m glad Woodfield has a Chase as it’s very convenient for me. Each time I go in there, the ladies are really nice and always offer my daughter a sucker. It’s a smaller bank but that’s what you get for being located in the mall. I haven’t «waited» long in line as there are 4 – 5 different teller stations inside. They have an ATM located conveniently outside as well so that decreases lines inside.
