Not quite sure what the negative reviews are about because I had a delicious meal at Ben’s today. They start you off with a platter of pickles and a platter of coleslaw– the coleslaw was super fresh and tasted great. I ordered the chicken in the pot which will end up being about three meals for me. The chicken was tender and moist. The only downside was the broth was a tad bit salty. My friend ordered a pastrami with fries. The fries were freshly cut and really, really good. I will definitely be back and work my way through the menu.

Good pickles and cole slaw. Soup was pretty bland. Matzoh ball was ok but not hot. Stuffed derma was actually cold. Pastrami was overly dry… possibly microwaved. Service was friendly, but not friendly enough to make up for the flaws in the food.

There is nothing like Ben’s. Five of us just had the most delicious dinner and the best service from Mike. Amongst us we had/shared Buffalo wings app, stuffed cabbage app, corned beef, turkey, brisket, specials and some soup. And the chocolate babka was a great dessert! Everyone was happy and no one left hungry.

Some words that come to mind: dreadful, egregiously overpriced, terrible service. Here’s my experience in the nutshell: Arrive and get promptly seated(Good) Wait forever for the waitress(Bad) Finally get waitress, who impatiently takes order(Bad) Three pickles for four people arrive. Ask for more pickles, never receive them(Bad) Food finally arrives. Hot pastrami portion is TINY and COLD. Kasha knish doesn’t arrive. Ask waitress, told it will be just a minute, it never arrives.(REALLYBAD) Bottom line, if they actually served a real hot pastrami sandwich, of the right size and temperature, I’d ignore the other issues. In the absence of that, why bother?

Leaves a lot to be desired. Went multiple times never get order correct and cannot enjoy my meal as i am waiting over an hour to eat it and its cold by then. You would think they would get it right or comp a sandwich to keep a customer. No sir.

We went with friends to try Ben’s out for dinner. We have been to the one in Roslyn in the past. Ben’s has a nice, scalable model for a Jewish deli. The décor is nice and well maintained. We were blown away by the staff. Unique, our waiter, was amazingly nice and accommodating. We started out with pickles and coleslaw, which were refilled repeatedly and cheerfully. The waitstaff were very attentive. We tried a bunch of different dishes. The matzoh ball soup was OK. A friend had a grilled chicken and avocado salad and didn’t complain. My wife had a turkey sandwich that she liked a lot. I was underwhelmed by my pastrami sandwich. It was OK. A buddy and I shared a square knish. The outside was good and crunchy. The potato filling was runny. Going to Ben’s is better than not going to a deli, but I’m sticking with Epstein’s.

Inside is quaint with newly furnished interior and a sloped ceilings. Unfortunately, the food was extremely bland. I. Mean hospital food bland. I got the chicken in a pot soup, which should be fairly good if you’re marketing for a jewish demographic, but was horribly let down. Service was good, but don’t come here expecting your tasebuds to sing.(Unless you bring hot sauce)

I grew up on Long Island and have been going to the Ben’s locations there for years. Since moving to Westchester I have always missed having a great Jewish deli to go to. I thrilled to hear that a Ben’s opened up and Westchester. My wife and I went here for a quick lunch and it was just as good as I remembered it. What we ordered was fresh, delicious and served with a smile. I can’t wait to go back.

Not sure why there are such lukewarm reviews here, but my husband and I have been here twice and have been happy with both the food and service here. The matzo ball soup is a must order! For 4.99, you get a huge matzo ball with noodles — all in all, a very satisfying soup, especially in the cold! My husband is quite fond of the Big Ben burger, which comes with pastrami and onion rings. Their pastrami sandwich, although incomparable to Katz’s, is pretty solid as well. If you’re dish comes with a side, pay a little extra to get onion rings instead of French fries as the fries are thick wedges and not very crispy. The complimentary coleslaw and pickles are always a welcome sight. The service at Ben’s is good as well. We’ve found the waiters to be very friendly and attentive, although there was a bit of a long gap between soup and the entrée tonight. Overall, for the price point and good service, we like Ben’s a lot. Don’t let all of the negative reviews away you. Give Ben’s a shot.

While the establishment is beautiful and renovated and the staff is the kindest, the food wasn’t so delicious. Also, sadly that day was literally freezing and they must have had problem with the heat because it was very cold inside and super warm in the bathroom. Anyway lol We started off with the house coleslaw and pickles, that was my favorite part of the meal! Our waitress even brought us a second serving. So simple; yet, so yummy! I had some sort of a house salad with tongue and corned beef. I enjoy that, the meat was good, but not extraordinary. I asked for my herb dressing on the side(as I feel there is always too much dressing) and I am glad I did because this wasn’t good. Clearly not home made and emulsified with who knows what, it was yucky. The salad was big and fresh though, nothing making you go wow. My mom is law got the stuff chicken and she enjoyed it, her portion was huge and she ate twice on it. My husband got the Reuben sandwich and the waitress told us the cheese would be soy cheese. Fair, let’s keep it kosher. But either that cheese was melted cardboard or it was expired, the Reuben was not good at all — one bite of it was enough for me. Hubby ate it because he feels that nothing can be done for the soy cheese. Maybe it was the dressing on it? Maybe the meat? No good. The sweet potato fries were great. We also tried the chocolate rugelach and they were great! Coffee, not so good either. All in all, beautiful place, very awesome and kind staff, foot is okay and fills it’s purpose.

I went in to place a catering order and wasn’t exactly catered to … Took awhile to get anyone to help; the minimum the serve is 9; and the person helping me allowed a vendor to interrupt our transaction. She was friendly but that isn’t enough. I then picked up a two meat combo to go and was dismayed at the low corned beef to turkey ratio and Almaty choked on the dry meats. And the sandwich was cold. Took myself directly to Epsteins and was given a hot and moist corned beef sandwich. Cancelling the catering order now. I have this place a fair shot but will not return. The two stars are because the woman was friendly and the menu looks to be extensive.

Finally decided to go to Ben’s after passing by it for a while now. So off I went with my son and daughter and law. We found the food to be ok. Upon seating you’re given a tray of pickles and cole slaw. They enjoyed the pickles, I found the cole slaw to be alright — it was crunchy which I liked but it was lacking something that I just can’t put my finger on. I ordered the Pastrami on French baguette after being told that they don’t have white or wheat bread(not sure if that’s a kosher thing or not but ummmm, ok). I was happy with the baguette though even though I found the sandwich to be on the small side(I guess I’m used to Harold’s in NJ). The meat though was very lean — almost to the point of being a bit dry but it wasn’t bad. My son had the turkey and he loved it and my daughter in law had the corned beef which she said was delicious. We shared a basket of fries which our waiter assured us were very good, but again, they were ok. I will say that they service was great. Our waiter was attentive, offered suggestions and checked on us a few times to make sure we were ok so they get brownie points for that. I think I will give them another try as when we were leaving I walked past hot dogs on the grill — stay tuned for an update.

Very disappointed. Went twice with ither friends. Had brisket both times. First time was cold and dry, second time slightly warm but dry. Epstein of yonjers blows it away.

Stopped in for a Monday lunch — overall experience was disappointing. Highlights here were the coffee(very strong), coleslaw and pickles — both of which are delivered upon seating. Downhill with everything else. Sandwiches ordered — The Oriental Chicken(Teriyaki chicken? — didn’t taste as such), greens, carrots, water chestnuts and Asian sesame dressing which was extremely bland. Smoked Turkey Breast which was acceptable yet forgetful. We both made the mistake of substituting Onion Rings for fries. Bad Choice as the greasy rings fell apart when touched — a true mess. Service was fast and friendly — no issue there. What was an issue was the men’s bathroom. As you open the door you’re pulverized with this sauna like heat. Hopefully this is a temporary problem as someone’s going to faint in there…

I must admit, I love my Jewish food, especially for one that isn’t Jewish! However, Ben’s takes your hopes for good kosher food finally coming to Scarsdale and obliterates them. Ben’s is horrible, it’s sooo over priced, the portions are small, the food is incredibly salty, and the sandwiches are dry. I struggled to finish my meal and actually went to the A&P next door after lunch to get something better. Sorry Ben’s, I’ll stick with Epstein’s.

um… The coleslaw was good. The fries were ok. That’s it for the good. Oh, the waiter was nice and attentive. Where do I begin? When I saw corned beef reuben on the menu, I was jazzed. Same with a pastrami sandwich. Both were a major letdown. I’ve had better ruebens at Irish pubs, or even a regular street deli. It was pretty tasteless. Same with the pastrami. Pickles were sour. Caesar dressing was sour Onion rings were hopeful, but cut way too freaking big. I mean, one inch wide? Too much. I don’t need to go here 6 times to know I won’t be back. Too expensive for mediocre food. Lots of seating… not sure why.

Had 50th birthday party for my wife today in upstairs room with 38 guests. We were happy with the food and service. A number of our guests told us(unsolicited) that the food was great, the room was nice, and they were having a great time. Plus a number of our guests keep kosher and were very appreciative of the good kosher food. Kari(manager on duty) was easy to work with. We had a couple of guests that required gluten free and my 5-year old niece who would only eat chicken nuggets(even though that wasn’t part of the menu we contracted for). Kari and the staff were very accommodating. We also had lunch here a couple of weeks ago. I had Big Ben, wife had turkey wrap. Food and service both good. I would certainly recommend this location for anyone who want good kosher deli for a casual lunch/dinner or for a party.

I can’t tell you why my family took me here as a VEGETARIAN, but alas, they did, and I wasn’t entirely disappointed, oddly enough. I came here right from work in the city — my parents picked me up at the Hartsdale train station and drove about 5 minutes to the newest addition to town, Ben’s Jewish Deli, which I believe has other locations scattered around New York. There is plenty of parking here, especially on a Monday night. However, make sure to look out for the sharp turn that turns into the parking lot or else you’ll miss it! We walked in and were greeted by an overly kind hostess(who kept telling us to stay as long as we wanted even though the restaurant was empty… kind of strange…) and sat down with the rest of my family, who had arrived before us. Already on the table was huge plates of coleslaw(delicious and not too sweet!) and pickles of every color and sweetness you can imagine, all complimentary. What a nice touch after a long day of work. The menu was vast and included everything you’d expect on a Jewish deli’s menu and **more**. Of course, I had to get one of my favorites(noodle pudding), and for a meal I got the pastrami-crusted salmon with a potato pancake($ 1 extra). Our waiter was a seemingly good kid, but not the best waiter out there. When he picked up our plates to bus them, he was dropping silverware all over the place, as if he had just started. He also at one point told us he didn’t believe a woman should be president(although this is my fault for asking what he thought.) Regardless, the staff here was just so-so. Let me just say, I did not anticipate how large the portions would be. After filling up on INCREDIBLE(sweet, cinnamon-y, perfectly baked) pudding, I barely had room for the salmon, which was also cooked to perfection with a tomato gravy sauce and green beans tossed in marinara sauce on the side. I brought most of my meal home, and I’ll probably eat that for dinner. Everyone at my table was happy with their meals and almost everyone brought home food for the following day. The only thing I might warn against is that my family didn’t order traditional deli items(no sandwiches, etc.) so we aren’t the best determinants of how great of a deli this place is, but for dinner, I would come back here.

This evening was a family dinner at this very cool space. The pastrami was quite good and spicy mustard added to the flavor. The matzo ball soup was not as good as Nana’s but who could expect that. The service was good but could have been a bit more attentive as I had to ask a few times to have my water refilled. The manager Scott was quite nice and accommodating. I will absolutely visit this restaurant again and look forward to trying their location in Manhattan.
