I was planning to have a wedding there. Now what? White Castle? KFC?

One of those occasions when everything you eat there is stellar. The only reason I’m not giving it five stars is because it is a bit pricey. Stopped here while heading out to Tybee Island. Really amazing seafood but rather pricey. Two us ate here for $ 75 and some change pre tip. We had the Seafood Buffets and non-alcohol drinks. While pricey some of the best and freshest seafood I have had in Ga. The buffet consisted of Snow Crab legs, Fried Shrimp, Fried Fish, Red Rice, Macaroni and cheese, Collard Greens, Black-eyed peas, Oysters on the half shell, Banana Pudding, and Peach cobbler. So it was a pretty small buffet, but huge taste on it. The sides mac and cheese, and Collard greens were awesome. The greens weren’t too salty or heavy on the vinegar, perfectly cooked. The mac and cheese was some of the best I have ever had. The problem is they were so good it would be all to easy to fill up on the sides and not get the awesome seafood. The fried fish and shrimp were breaded and cooked insanely well. Tender and juicy. The snow crab was well seasoned and easy to get plenty big lumps of crab from them. Desert, I am not a fan of Peach cobbler but i could live on theirs, if it wasn’t for the even better banana pudding right around the corner buffet.

Very happy with food and service! We were on our Sales Team Golf Trip. We came for the seafood Buffett. We all ate our weight in crab legs and shrimp. There are more beachy atmospheres In and around but for 5 hungry dudes… It was pretty awesome! We had a cute and perky waitress and great service! A lot of fun and a lot of food!

Uncle Bubba Knows How To Cook!!! We ate at Uncle Bubba’s on a Sunday Evening and it was pretty empty when we walked in but as we were leaving, there were many tables of happy diners. I had the fried fish and shrimp combo with slaw and fries. My friend had the crab stuffed flounder with red rice and a baked potato. Both meals were phenomenal. Cooked to perfection. The bartender was our server and he was very good. We finished the meal with Pecan Pie and Key LIme Pie and both were amazing. You can’t go wrong eating at Uncle Bubba’s Oyster House…

Dined there for lunch on a Wednesday in mid Dec 2013. We arrived around 12:15, so I expected it to be busy. .. it was not. We walked to the bar area and there were 2 servers huddled over a register/screen. Both looked up at us, but neither acknowledged us, and just kept working on whatever they were trying to figure out. We sat ourselves at the bar and waited. .. and waited. .. and waited a total of 9 minutes before the bartender ever approached us. She had not ever left the area, and had looked over at us a couple of times but never said anything. She made a few glasses of water and pulled a few beers for other servers to take to their customers, but she was not busy. Finally, after 9 minutes she comes over and says, «do you want to have some lunch with us today?» We reply«yes, please» and she provides us menus. We order our lunch at 12:30. During our wait, bartender does chat with us and doing some busy work. Our meals arrive by 12:50 and they look delicious — boyfriend has blackened scallops and have lemon tilapia. Both are lunch specials that were very tasty and priced very reasonable for the quality and portion served($ 9.95 and $ 7.95 respectively). With our meals in front of us, we have no dining utensils or napkins. Bartender is now helping other servers with drinks and we can’t get her attention. After 5 minutes, I just can’t be patient any longer and walk over to another server and ask for utensils. Our bartender sees me do so, and asks if she can help me. I then ask her for same. «Oh», she says, «I can get those for you». Really? With all the time during our wait for our meal, she was not busy with other customers — she should have set up everything needed to dine during that time. We’ll return, but just won’t expect attentive bar service.

The charbroiled oysters were good. Other than that the food was mediocre to say the least. Even after reading previous reviews that it was lack luster we decided to try it anyways. It was a mistake. The menu leaves a lot to be desired. I will not return. The service was good and the staff was friendly.

Superb service! Deliciously prepared food and bar drinks! Was allergic to something in the Bloody Mary, but it was still delicious!

Excellent charbroiled oysters… ahhh! We stayed a week in Tybee and ate at Uncle Bubba’s twice. It’s that good. Go at lunchtime for the best service. Sweet tea so perfect you’ll wanna slap your Momma. Truly the best we’ve ever had.

Stopped by here for lunch on a Sunday and was seated immediately. We had great service, good bloody marys, best fried pickles I’ve had anywhere. I didn’t care for the crabcake Bubba boy, no sauce and very dry! Fish tacos were good on the daily special menu. My husband was happy… had«loaded Coronas» on the drink menu!

Highly disappointed… not worth taking picture of food. They messed up my order over THREE times!!! By the time my food came out, my group already finished their meals and wanted the bill. The Silverware was not clean and the serve was poor. I do not ever want to go back there.

This place was all around average, as far as the food and service are concerned. We had reservations here for 4:30 pm on a Friday. so we didn’t have to wait and the restaurant really wasn’t that busy. Granted, we did have a large group, but our waiters really seemed to struggle with our orders. And some of the people in our group had to wait quite a while before their food arrived, while everyone else was eating(which was rather annoying). I had the grilled shrimp skewer, and it was just OK. For $ 17 I was really hoping for something that tasted good, but oh well. The portion size was rather small too. The restaurant did have a nice atmosphere though. I liked the view of the marsh, and the outdoor seating seems like it would be a nice spot to enjoy a meal or drink(I would say opt for the drink). Overall though, if you want overpriced, blah food this is your spot.

After reading several reviews on Unilocal I confess I was regretting the decision to take my son out to Uncle Bubba’s as many appeared dissatisfied with the service and the food. Fortunately our experience proved both the service and the food to be worth the trip. I had the blackened surf while my son went the fried route. The food was good and the service we received was above par. Our server kept my son’s tea glass full which is a feat in itself.

This place is the epitome of an average restaurant. Long wait, okay food. We got the raw oysters and the seafood duo with fish and scallops(grilled and unbuttered). I did not like the raw oysters at all and they tasted really funny, but the seafood duo was actually pretty good. Fiddlers has way better raw oysters. I will add 1 star for the atmosphere! The wait was 40 minutes, so we sat at the tiki bar which had a nice view of the marshes. The bartender was very nice and attentive. He recommended the Tybee Blonde, which was pretty good. Key lime pie was bomb as well! The best food we ate for sure.

This place was only ok. We started with the seafood dip. The dip was good but the chips were stale. My crab cakes were edible, but nothing fantastic.

It is easy to get sick of Seafood at the Beach, but they do it a little differently here. The atmosphere was very nice, the food was appropriately slow. I preferred that so that my family and I could have some time together. The food was great, seafood bar a little pricey, but I recommend ordering off of the menu. That is where they really create the Seafood Variety. Also they offer a 20% military discount. Very much appreciated. Service was pretty poor, however. We had a party of 9, so the gratuity was automatic. If you have a party of 10, they will only do one check as well. Keep that in mind. All that considered, I would return to Uncle Bubba’s again. It was a very nice atmosphere and the food was great.

Best burger I’ve ever tried. Crab stew was more of a cream of crab soup. Wouldn’t call it a stew. Shrimp salad sandwich was yummy! Cornbread muffins with honey butter were delicious. My 10 mth old ate 3 muffins!!!

I was told by a friend that if you visit Tybee Island that you should visit Uncle Bubba’s place. I need to reconsider that friend as a friend after eating there. I was seated right away but after getting to my table the hostess had to sweep my table area although the place was ¼ full at 3PM. Ian the waiter told us the food will be out quickly since we beat the rush, but quickly must mean 30m. While waited for our food Ian checked his phone several times. Now on the the food. My son enjoyed his burger but after spending 5 hours on the beach anything would taste good. My shrimp Bubba boy was one of the most flavorless po boy I have ever had. I ate half and grabbed Wendy’s on the way back home. This is a typical celebrity owned business that thinks you will be impressed by who the owners are. Save your $ 50 and go somewhere else.

I’m ok with waiting. I’m ok with waiting when there is a nice bar outside in the lovely marsh area, which this has. I’m ok with waiting for a great meal and good service — which we did NOT have! I’ve been here 4 times and not sure I’ll ever go back. We waited 45 minutes past our reservation; they ran out of some of what we wanted; we had to beg for silver and napkins AFTER our food came; It came at different times(5 people is NOT a big party, folks) and the wait staff was overwhelmed and unpleasant. The grilled oysters are fabulous. But not enough to wait in line there again, unless someone really really wants me to go…

Really liked the atmosphere and the service was very southern sweet. You do need to try the fried pickels, and the grilled oysters. My 14 yr old daughter ate hers, mine and ours of the collards. The crab cakes, stuffed shrimp and bread was also very, very good. The only think I was rather disappointed in was«Paula’s fried(DRIED) chicken». Trust me KFC is much better! Will certainly visit this restaurant again, when we are in town. WILLNOT be eating Paula’s chicken anytime oon.
