If you are looking for authentic, day drinking vibes… look no further. Three 12oz local drafts(service ipa YUM) for $ 9 plus cool as sh*# bartender who knows how to pour = gold

LOVE this place! We were told my locals to go here and we are so glad we did. We didn’t get the famous $ 540-oz in a paper bag but we did get regular beers, tons of shots and met so many fun and wonderful people. We were bummed they aren’t open on Sunday. We will be going back here!

History tours are way more interesting with some booze. We stopped in during happy hour and got ready to for our tour. The drinks were cheap, the bartenders were super nice. 5 stars!

I used to love this place but it’s getting worse and worse every time I stop by. Came here last night to celebrate NYE with some friends and left with a sour taste in my mouth. And it wasn’t just because of the watered down beer. The bartender was inattentive and got an attitude with me when I tried to order a White Russian. It took me almost 30 minutes to get a drink. As I was leaving, I saw the bouncer almost get into a fight with a guy just because he was trying to get back in to see his friends. I don’t care if you’re a seedy bar or a five star restaurant, it’s never okay to verbally assault someone with names like«fag», «bitch», and«cunt». Very unprofessional. It’s places like this that give Savannah a bad name. It’s a shame young folks these days don’t have common courtesy for one another. People like this are better off working in the kitchen of McDonald’s or not working with people at all until they can figure out how to treat someone with respect. I will never step foot in this place again.

Perfect hangout bar. It’s pretty small inside but there is a huge outdoor area behind next to the building and a deck area outside and upstairs. Inside is dark and quirky knick knacks cover the walls. You can get 40oz. beer and 40 oz. beer koozies here! So awesome. There are a few craft beers available on draft and you get bar snack peanuts. Feel free to just throw the shells on the ground as they sweep them up at the end of the night. There is a set of cornhole tables outside and plenty of seating and standing room. It’s a really wonderful area. Five thumbs up! We stopped in several times when we were visiting because we loved it here. Stop in after eating slice at Vinnie Van Go Go’s.

Great bar with a casual atmosphere. The karaōke is so much fun to watch and listen to. The bar tenders make amazing shots and it is relatively cheap. It is a dive bar in the absolute best way. It is my favorite chill place in Savannah and has a great location in City Market to people watch and catch music and good food. It is a hidden gem of a place!

The BEST Bloody Mary I have ever had. Saw the bartender making them with Guinness, horse radish, 2 types of hot sauce, worchestshier, olive juice and of course a garnish and had to try. I don’t know why it hasn’t been raved about yet on here but it needs to be. Great bar.

THEPERFECTLOCALBARFOR A NEWLYTRANSPLANTEDPERSONTOSAVANNAH! Beer and booze selection has something for everyone and peanuts in the shell. What more could you want in a bar. The bartender was not only attentive but informative, giving me lots of tips on things to see and do, the regulars were welcoming and friendly. I can see myself becoming a regular here very easily.

Personally, I like this place. There is no pulsating house music reverberating in your eardrums nor will there be tweaked out bartenders overcharging for drinks. Instead, you’ve got a nice bar area with a second level and an outside patio area that occasionally has live music. Good drink prices and specials keep me coming back, and I recommend you try the mini-beer shot

Love this place. Every time I go to savannah I have to go in here. It’s definitely a dive bar but those are always the best kind of bars to me.

One of the better dive bars downtown near City Market. Very small, but love the friendly and welcoming atmosphere. I’ve stumbled in here more than once on a late night out and can’t remember not enjoying myself.

I love this place. Was visiting Savannah from Baltimore and a friend recommend The Rail, knowing my proclivity for«dive» bars, i.e. places with character and reasonably priced drinks. Well, I definitely found both. The Rail has great happy hour specials and, legitimately, some of friendliest bartenders and patrons I have ever encountered. While traveling solo, I’ve never felt so welcome at an establishment. Plus, killer music!

While my friends love this bar, I just cannot see the appeal. The beer selection is rather limited. The specials they draw you in for $ 1.00 beer are simply a 6 oz cup. The peanuts are a nice touch. The main problem with this place is the limited restrooms, just one for a bar in Savannah on the pub crawl. I enjoy dive bars but there is usually something unique about makes them appealing and at the Rail, I just did not find that.

Derailed at the Rail Bar. This is dive town. This is like a somersault with a ½ twist going into a double pike, where the landing is completely missed«kerplonk!» Real peanuts IN the shell, and then real peanuts OUT of the shell, and the shell all over da floor. crunch crunch. I made so much mess I was gonna ask if they’d hire me as a cleaner. The brews come in one size. 40 ounce. That’s a little over 1.1 litres for my metric system buddies. Knocking them back like they are schooners meant that I was on the canvas pretty quickly. I dunno how I made it back to my hotel, but somehow I did and somehow I didn’t throw up, and somehow I got on the bus for the roadtrip out of Savannah the next morning. Come here when the other places shut as that’s when its charm is on show. Pro tip: Bring a local and let them show you how to drink Savannah-style. Not to be missed.

This is one of those rare things where I would give this place zero stars if i could, I downloaded Unilocal just to tell people how crappy this place is. I’ll start off by saying the drinks they aren’t that bad or over priced. But the bartenders are extremely inattentive to the customers and are ruder than they are inattentive. They took a drink order of mine and messed up the card payment, then after pointing it out they took almost 10 other people’s orders for me to ask them to run the card again, and by then it had been 25 minutes. So after some of the most unprofessional bartending I’ve ever seen, they tell me they no longer have my card. I tell them to find it or else be charged with stealing it. They ignore me for another 10 minutes, then come back and tell me they can’t find it, and that since they can’t find it they obviously gave it back, they didn’t even man up on the fact they lost my card or didn’t care enough to admit they gave my card to someone else out of sheer negligence. DONOTGOTOTHISBAR, THEYWILLLOSE/STEAL YOURCARDANDNOTADMITTOIT.

$ 5 for a 40 — sure, why not? I’ll relive my college years :) Great dive with lots of locals.

Friendly welcoming service from the gentleman checking ids to the bartenders. The bartenders where attentive and helpful. Very up beat and helpful. This place was packed and the vibe from the staff helped encourage a great atmosphere that was addictive, and intoxicating to be around. No pun intended.
