Way to go Emelia for giving me a cut and color that I (and my husband) love!!! Emelia is very professional and loves her job! This is apparent as I saw her clients leave her salon with smiles on their faces and good-​looking hair styles. I, too, was one of those clients. She asked questions about what I liked and disliked concerning my hair style, the color, and what I wanted. I was more than satisfied when I left! Thank You, Emelia. I will be making another appointment in the near future!

I have been to many different salons and stylists and have never had a worse experience. I had a groupon and went here for the first time. Emelia was unfriendly, seemed in a hurry (there were two other people getting their hair done at the same time as me) and barely spoke to me. I kept asking her questions and asked for advice for my color and cut to which she responded with one word answers. My color is okay, but it is lighter than I wanted. She used a very sharp comb on my neck that hurt a lot, and she cut my fine hair very bluntly. Since it was curled I couldn’t tell at the time, but the next day it looked terrible. I don’t think she’s ever cut hair as baby fine as mine and didn’t know how to layer it so it falls correctly. When I get a hair cut I expect a salon «zen» type experience – this was not it. I could have forgiven the shortfalls of the business if I had gotten a good cut out of it, but I have to go and have it fixed by someone else now. Avoid.

First things first… when you pull up to the address don’t think you’re in the wrong place and leave. Emelia’s studio is tucked away into an old office building so it’s a little strange until you enter her salon. She’s certainly done a lot with that space and it’s extremely relaxing and cozy.
I am not much of a talker at salons but I’d imagine if you like to chat she’ll join in, so in my case I just listened to music and got lost in my own thoughts. I went to her because of a Groupon I purchased and it looks like I’ll be going back. I went in with blah color. just a dark blonde/​light brown with ZERO depth in it and shaggy ends. but I left with amazing highlights, and lighter, softer hair.
I love the cut, I love the color and with her professional attitude and relaxed environment Emelia makes an easy choice when it comes to where to go for your next hair appointment. Yay!
