My boyfriend and I were walking around Bull St. when the phone booth outside Six Pence caught our eye. We ended up staying for a few hours, talking to the bartender about Savannah history and warming up(it was January) with some beer and specialty coffees. Irish cream, yum! In our three days in town, we came back here three times for drinks, shepherd’s pie, and a boozy haunted pub crawl, all of which were a great addition to our trip. Can’t wait to go back and would definitely recommend.

Burger was just ok, nothing to write home about. Did not try any bangers and mash or any of the other authentic dishes. So might have to try again to try.

To begin, the waiter spilled ice water onto the sidewalk mesh table which splashed thru onto my sneakers and my sons jeans. The response was, «well that was unfortunate». ?! When our meals came out a salad was missing, the stew was in a bread bowl instead of crock and the Rueben had the wrong meat on it. Even if the server had his act together, the food was mediocre. There are so many other GREAT food places in Savannah. Don’t waste your time or money here!

Having lived in the UK for 13 years, I can tell you this pub is pretty close to the real thing as far as the more traditional pubs go. Very, very busy place but service managed to keep up. Stopped in twice during our trip: once for dinner and once for an afternoon tipple. Food was very good(Guiness Beef Stew was excellent). Nice to see a pub pulling a «proper pint»(20 fl oz US) with brew nearly to the lip. Smithwick’s Ale and Guinness on tap were both delicious. My wife loved her Irish Coffee with Bailey’s — good punch without overpowering amount of alcohol. Will definitely hit up Six Pence again when we return to Savannah.

Didn’t even make it through the front door before we were sent out. We walked in at about 10:50 and were told they didn’t open until 11. No hello. Pretty much a get out for 10 mins and come back. Staff was just standing around the bar. I’m a bartender as well and the Irish Pub I work at we always welcome people even if it is early.

Delicious beer, friendly service, the most beautifully packed nachos! Also stopped there on a tour and was told to get the adult hot chocolate(hot chocolate with Baileys). It was delicious and helped keep me toasty the remainder of the tour.

Have been here 5 years ago and it was so good I made sure to come back when we got to Savannah. Love the sandwiches and soups. Great flavor and choices. Nice place and the service was fast and friendly.

My wife and I stopped here today and sat outside. We had light entrees(me soup n salad, and my wife French onion soup and a wedge of cheese). Of course we also had some beers and we found the place to be very festive! I was surprised to see a lower rating on Unilocal when we got back to our hotel, but if you gage success by how full the restaurant was, they are doing just fine. If I lived around here I would be a regular!

Friendly place with great drinks. Food looked good but I haven’t had the occasion to try any meals yet. Will definitely be back.

I must say, if I lived in Savannah this would be my favorite hangout. I research places before all my trips and this was one of my must do. We walk and eat all day and my timing was perfect for stopping in, not only did we enjoy a few glasses of wine while sitting outside people watching, but two very nice gentleman were out with us giving us some of the 411 on the area we were in and the history and changes, the stuff you can’t really get in a brochure, at first I wasn’t sure why they were concerned if I was enjoying my wine and vacation, and then it made sense they were the owners! Can’t wait to return and sample the menu… if you visit Savannah you absolutely must visit this place!

We stopped here for a light lunch. I had the chicken salad sandwich on toast and my hubby had the turkey sandwich with soup. Everything was very tasty. Loved the bread the sandwich came on. Other people ordered the chicken pot pie special with a salad and the portion was quite large. It looked amazing. The wait staff were very friendly too.

After hitting up all the sights in Savannah it was officially beer’o clock and Six Pence Pub was amazingly located near the Savannah squares. We ordered a couple of local beers and the french onion soup and the brie platter. Both were really good, but its all about the atmosphere, It really does feel like a small english pub.

Good service and nice sized portions. I went with a large group and had the corned beef sandwich. Very filling and delicious! Only wish was that they had some type of homemade fries instead of the Lays potato chips.

Took my Mom here and the experience was great! The music was a little loud but they did turn it down for us. We both had half a sandwich with soup and both were fresh and tasty. Mom had the chicken salad with a tomato mushroom soup which was very good. I had the corn beef with french onion. The portions were more than plenty for lunch and very satisfying. Everything tasted homemade. Service was very good and the place is close to everything. My only wish was fish and chips but they don’t do anything fried. Kinda surprising in the south and at a British pub.

This is a nice little pub located on Bull St, right in the heart of Savannah. It’s a great place to grab a bite to eat or have a pint! The number of British beers on draft is pretty impressive and I hadn’t seen another pub in the area with that kind of selection. I got a Newcastle and Guinness, both draft(how American of me, I know!), as well as the Baked Brie/Bread/Grapes. It was an appetizer, but as such, it was rather small. Not a lot of Brie for the amount of bread — that’s for sure! I am only visiting for a week, so I don’t think I’ll be visiting Six Pence again. If they expanded their selection of food and/or the quantity of what they have, then I may reconsider.

After a long hot day of walking through town and hopping on and off the trolly we passed this pub so we decided to get off the next stop and walk on over. Great location, service was excellent very friendly. The place was packed people in and out having lunch. We only stopped for a few drinks so can’t really give advise on the food, but should def. check it out and grab a drink to cool off!!!

This place is great, you can not beat the price on drinks, anywhere. I got the black velvet or snakebite(I can’t remember which). It was a Guinness and cider. And my girlfriend got 2 Maker’s 46 straight, when we got the bill we were shocked. The whisky was only about $ 5, we were expecting $ 8 or more. Next time we are in Savannah, we will check this place out and try some food. It’s also really cool that they have money in the bar top(hence the name).

Reminds me of the pub my parents owned. Other than top forty music this pub hits all the nails on the head! The Ploughmens lunch was delicious!

I really enjoy coming here to eat, their chicken pot pie is the best I have ever eaten, not that I have eaten that many varieties in my life but this is great! The atmosphere is relaxing with good music and low lighting. I like it!

Tucked away from the tourists is a modest British Pub that isn’t too crowded and pours an excellent Guinness. My group of friends came into the bar on a whim after being cast out of closer parking garages by the river. I was pleasantly surprised by The Six Pence Pub — it wasn’t crowded at all, seemed to be filled with locals, and they had some of the best half & half, black velvet, and black & tans. Our bartender was prompt and courteous. The bar is a little touristy, with British coins in the bar and ceramic face-mugs of famous British people behind the bar, but you can’t ask for better service or nicer people(including the two ladies who scooted down one seat so my friend could join us at the bar).
