Everett and Cobb

I am an avid buyer of antiques. I walked up with my two family members on Wednesday evening just before 4:30. As we approached, a gentleman, presumably the owner, was finishing locking up and said he was closed. I happened to have the time right in front of me and curtly let him know that it was in fact 4:28. The owner didn’t even have the decency to look any of us in the eye or be polite about it. It bothers me when shopkeepers forget that it is the customers who allow them to keep shop. I have worked retail for enough years to know how frustrating it can be when you get that jerk who walks in one minute before closing and spends the next hour messing everything up, only to buy nothing. With such a small shop and a closing time of FOUR THIRTY on a Wednesday on a side street of Savannah, I don’t think that aforementioned anxiety really applies. Go spend your time and money somewhere that actually wants your business and not for you to get away from them as quickly as possible.
