So, I read the Unilocal reviews before I got here and I have to admit I was very concerned. Upon arrival, I was surprised at how nice the lobby was. The girl at the front desk was really sweet and gave us directions to find our room. The hallway did smell like marijuana(as some reviews noted) but hey guess I just don’t mind the smell lol. The room is also nice and clean.

I had booked this hotel a week in advanced and in their special request box, I told them I would like a room not on the 1st floor and with a balcony. They also had free breakfast and so I calculated that into my budget vs having to go out. The balcony and the free breakfast was the main reason I chose this hotel. It was located in a place where you had to make a u-turn every time to enter if you were coming from downtown Savannah. Also, it was really located on «hood st.» Less than a mile down the road was a really bad neighborhood. Don’t go there after sunset. The opposite down the road is where publix was located. It wasn’t bad. When I got there, I reminded them of what room I had requested, the girl at the front told me my room had already been assigned and she can’t change it. I told her I had requested those things when booking. She looked it over, found it, but then said, «Well you needed to call in and request it.» The entire 3 days and 2 nights we were there, we were the only guest out of maybe 5 – 10. I don’t know why they couldn’t have changed our room to one with a balcony. There were PLENTY available. I didn’t like that our room door was right in front of the top of the steps where all the walking traffic would be. The room looked clean but the water leaked out when showering though and made a mess. The next morning we got up and went for breakfast. While walking towards the lobby, I mentioned to my boyfriend, «Hmm, I can’t smell any food.» Then I saw why. They were serving cereal(Cheerios & frosted flakes with raisins), individual wrapped muffins, sunny-delight, and cigarette flavored coffee. This wasn’t the kind of breakfast I had in mind when I was doing my budget. That night while preparing to go to bed, I saw a roach crawl up my pillow! We swept it away and I did another quick check around the room before I could go back to sleep. The next morning, we skipped their breakfast. We packed up and prepared to check out. I did another scan around the room to make sure we didn’t leave anything. When I looked under the bed, it was a mess! There were beer cans, crumbs, and more trash under the bed that was definitely not ours! Probably where the roaches were dining! I will never ever ever stay here ever again and recommend that you don’t either!

Not bad for the price. Two nights for less than $ 170. Newly renovated with courtyard pool. No breakfast served but I was told the place is being reflagged as a Comfort Inn. All new looking and larger than it appears. Very kid friendly. Easy drive into the historic district. We stayed here for a friend’s wedding where all of the hotels near City Market averaged $ 175+/night. I give it 4 stars without the breakfast but not a big deal for us.

If you enjoy petty theft, dirty rooms, and silly décor, then this is the place for you. The only good thing I can say about this Rodeway Inn is that the beds seemed clean. The bathroom was disgusting with urine stains and gross hairs on the toilet along with other visible issues. Their«cleaning» crew desperately needs training in how to properly clean. During check-in, the front desk initially argued with us about a processing error through Priceline that wasn’t our fault and almost charged us for an extra night we didn’t need because of their«cancellation policy». It eventually was worked out. The next day, I could tell when returning to our room in the afternoon, my duffle bag had been picked through. I didn’t realize it at the time but, I later discovered that the anniversary card with a Starbucks gift card inside for my husband was taken. I hope they choke on hot coffee. Lastly, because I care about interior design, the lobby was recently redecorated with the most hideous mis-matched furniture and décor. Vibrant contemporary modern furniture was paired with warm brown-toned traditional-style art pieces and accessories. They obviously did not consult with a gifted professional. Business Owners: Always hire/consult with a talented PROFESSIONAL Interior Designer/Decorator! You think you know about design but you simply do not. Stepping down from my soap box…

Customer Service at this hotel is very horrible! There was so much miscommunication and incorrect information given. It’s been a couple of weeks since my stay and I still haven’t received my points. After making my reservation with Nicole for a total of 5 rooms the it was canceled due to lack of correct information.

There was money stolen from our room & I had to file a police report. And I saw TWO huge cockroaches in the dining area. This«hotel» is gross. The carpet looks horrible in the halls with stains all over it. I just changed rooms because the room I was in had a toenail on the sheets when I went to lay down for bed. I asked for new sheets and the front desk worker asked for me to come get the new sheets myself. We never got our new sheets so I had to strip my bed & take it to the front desk. The toilet was dirty in the first room and it’s dirty in this room as well. I would give this inn 0 stars but you have to give it at least 1. I guess Rodeway Inn having a pool with warm water counts as 1 star, except I doubt the water is clean. Oh I forgot to mention that there are no enforced pool hours so count on noisy kids keeping you up late. Suffice it to say, we demanded a refund and checked out of this dump.
