Stopped in while in town in bad need of a haircut. This place has that old school feel that I imagine what it was like when my grandpa got a haircut. I was seated immediately and got a great cut from one the ladies. She did a great job and got me lookin fresh and clean. They were super friendly. Be advised, it’s cash only which just adds to the old school flavor.

Went here the morning of my wedding for a shave and a haircut, and was not disappointed! Hannah was excited to hear she was cutting my hair for my wedding and did a fantastic job, I got many compliments throughout the day. The gentleman who did my straight razor shave (his name escapes me) was very professional and skilled, my face has never felt better! Thank you for helping me look my best on my wedding day!

Despite the comments about having to wait in line, I went anyway during the lunch hour. Got in and out quick and they did a great job.

I’ve been coming here for years, and as long as I live in Savannah, I will continue to come back. Sometimes you have to wait, but it’s worth it. It’s very reasonably priced; the barbers are cool (if you don’t feel like talking that day, they’re fine with that); and it’s in a great location. Highly recommended!

It’s a rare and special thing to find a barber shop who holds true to their roots and takes such pride in their work. I recently moved to Savannah and was relieved to find such a place. The hair cut was exceptionally well done and the straight razor shave left nothing to be desired. This will be a regular stop as long as I’m here.

Just moved from ATL, where the same lady has cut my hair for 35 years, and I was really worried. Gary gave me the best haircut in years (better than my ATL lady), and earned praise from my wife!
Second cut was a little longer than I wanted — but I never told him anything, or looked after the cut. Mia Culpa…

Been coming here for a couple years now. These guys give good solid haircuts, are great at interpreting vague gestures of I want it to look like this and that etc. And the straight razor neck shaves are nice too.
You will have to wait a while, even if you choose «anyone/​first avail» when you sign in. That’s to be expected though, it’s hair trimming, not nascar racing. Just go when you’re not in a rush and relax while you wait. I’ll be going here as long as I live in savannah for sure.

I can’t comment on any other barber in this place but juan, since he is the only person in the city of savannah I will ever let cut my hair. juan is the best barber in the city, his attention to detail and skill rival haircuts I have received in my home town of Philadelphia. juan is an artist. yes, at times I have waited for up to an hour and a half for a haircut here, does that mean I should give this place 1 star, of course not. it is always worth the wait.

Quick service, great haircut as requested

My husband and I are new to Savannah and he needed a haircut. He always went to the old school barber shop back home so he decided to try the Barber Pole. We drove downtown together and while he went to get the cut, I went shopping on Broughton.
An hour later and I’m wonder what’s happened to him, so I head over to the shop to see if he’s still there, and yes, he’s still there, waiting. He’s not even next, he’s got another guy ahead of him and another guy is still in the chair. And he’s been there an hour. So I sat down with him and after a few minutes of checking out the shop I realize the place is filthy. The floor is dirty, there’s crap piled up everywhere, and the liquid in the Barbicide dispensers looks cloudy. I left the shop, went out and called Colorboxx, which is right around the corner. I explain what’s going on and ask if they can take my husband. The girl put me on hold long enough to check for a stylist and came back and told us to head on over. He got a great haircut there from Marie and even though it cost a bit more than the barber shop, it was totally worth it to know the shop is clean and you aren’t going to get some scalp disease from using some grody old comb. Blech.

Good old fashion barbershop. Love the shaving cream razor blade neck cut. Plus the good cut.
