Great food, and Brandy the bartender was the nicest! Squash curry soup was amazing… as was the perch basket and tuna tacos. Will return for sure.

In the ten years I’ve been here, Phil’s has never failed to disappoint. Just consistently good service and food at a reasonable price. Staff is always friendly. There’s a reason why there’s always a wait!

First time visitor, but we’ll be back for more, for sure! Had an excellent lunch. Great variety of items to choose from on the menu – something for every taste. Homemade salad dressings are good enough to eat just with crackers; fresh, brewed coffee was out-of-this-world; fountain diet pop the best I’ve had in a long time; great portions; service was spot-on. Keep up this level of service and cuisine and you’ll be in business a long time. Thanks for a fantastic meal and dining experience.

This place is almost always on point(hits the mark)… only downside is its pretty small inside. Love their calamari

Came recommended. Awesome! Steak salad was fabulous. Extra surprise goat cheese ball — so yummy! The bartender was fabulous and helped me find a great hotel!

The best food in town. Phil’s specials go pretty fast, but all the menu items are great. Portobello mushroom fries and the calamari are my favorite apps. The broasted chicken is my go to favorite, Sunday nights. The service is superb and people are friendly. The place has a great vibe.

This is probably our favorite place to visit I. Saugatuck. The service is always very good. The food is delicious and I love that they give animal crackers when you are ready to leave. They also have paper as the table cover for crayons for children to play with… or adults, we used it and we enjoyed it very much.

Always my favorite. Like the atmosphere as well as the food. Only thing I hate is the wait.

A very busy place on a fall Friday evening. Reasonably priced menu with items that were more interesting than the average bar fare. Don’t get me wrong, it did have a lot of traditional bar fare(sandwiches, quesadillas, fish tacos, etc.) but someone put some effort into it and gave many items a nice twist. Not a ton of vegetarian options but enough to get me by. The quesadillas had a kick to them — spicy but good. The biggest issue we had with this place was the NOISE level. Now, don’t go telling me I sound like my Mom(hi Mom!) but it was just a bit loud for a dinner. It definitely had the energy level for an evening out, which was fine. Just something to be aware of.

Five stars for Jimmy’s cosmo. Best martinis around. I had the chicken, potatoes, and coleslaw. Yummy comfort food. FUNBARTENDERS.

The service was stupendous, but so fast I am not sure she really was listening, so clarify a lot! The wine list fairly diverse for a bar. I had the tenderloin salad. The tenderloin was ordered medium rare, more rare, and the steak really was steak nuggets cooked to charred well done. I really should have sent to back for the price. The warm goat cheese ball was nice. The atmosphere was dark and cool, like an old, turn of the century saloon.

We visit this establishment once or twice a year. Normally the food is well prepared and the service good this was not one of those times. The first thing I ordered, broasted chicken, was overcooked and had no flavor. Then ordered a hamburger on a ciabatta roll. While cooked to order, the burger fell apart as did the roll. When the burger was brought, I didn’t feel it had enough onions so I asked for more. The server returned with the onions and tossed the container on the table without so much as looking at either of us. Since this was the only bad encounter we’ve had at this restaurant out of the many times visiting, I wasn’t going to write a review. However when I expressed my dissatisfaction, there wasn’t so much as an apology made by anyone. That’s a shame because an apology can go a long way. It will be a while before I return to this establishment and encourage others to consider alternate options.

Still one of my favorite places in Saugatuck. My new favorite is the Cuban Sandwich. It is absolutely fantastic.

Stopped in for a late lunch here with the family. The waiting area at the front is very cramped and there is no sign to direct people when they come in. Instead they just mill about the front tables. Check in with the hostess when she comes around and wait to be seated. Our server was good. The food was very good and reasonably priced. It was slow to come out of the kitchen. We thought the breasted chicken, the Cuban sandwich and the pesto chicken sandwich were all very good. If you get the Cuban I would recommend getting fries instead of the chips and salsa. The burger was just ok. A good bet for lunch if you are looking for a relaxed and reasonably priced option.

Was a pretty decent little surprise. We’re were walking around, hunger pangs abound, and we saw this place. I pulled up Unilocal to check the reviews, walked in and commenced eating. I got the Cuban sandwich, which seemed to be highly regarded, and it was indeed a tasty dip into Cuba. My wife got the bacon burger and she, who happens to be a bit picky with her burgers, raved. One nice little surprise, were the tortilla chips. Quite tasty, freshly hot, salted just right. We actually got some to go to munch on later.

You can’t miss Phil’s, it has a theatre type marquee at the entry. The lobster salad was pretty good although the hard boiled eggs were tinged in green(see photo, I didn’t eat them). Decent amount of lobster in the salad for the price($ 16). The portobello mushroom fries were good and were served with a nice sauce. The broasted chicken was excellent. The draft beer list was disappointing so I drank water.

The nutty salad with their toasted pecan/apple vinaigrette was so good! That dressing was amazing. The pad thai was way too salty and pricey coming in at $ 26 — reason for the 4 instead of 5 stars.

Good, quick, relatively low priced bar food. First time to downtown saugatuck and wanted a good quick meal. This place has got a friendly cheers type vibe. Got the Gorgonzola ale dip to start, which is very very rich. It has tang from cherries and crunch from nuts in it. Would not recommend to those that don’t like a distinct cheese(blue cheese) type taste: Get the fish tacos which do not disappoint. It was inhaled in 1 minute! All in all, this place is definitely worth checking out!

Fun place to grab a casual dinner in Saugatuck! Note: On summer weekends, get there before sunset, as the bartender said that many boaters will watch the sunset on the lake, then head in for dinner. It gets packed, and it happened when we were there on a Saturday night! We really liked sitting on the cute, small outdoor patio. Portobello fries and fish tacos were good. My guy had the Cuban and loved it! Our waitress was excellent.
