Stopped by today for some ice cream after hitting the Tiny Toy Store. I was only able to steal a lick or two from the kids so I’m relying on their input. But from the looks on their faces, it’s 5 stars all the way.

The hubby and I stopped by here on our way home from Traverse City. We were looking for something cheap and quick that we could get to-go or eat outside since we had the pooch with us. Broadwalk has a nice selection of wraps and sandwiches(hot and cold) as well as ice cream and smoothies. The price was right and it was pretty good. I went with the California wrap and really liked the roasted red pepper in there along with the ranch used. It was packed with veggies and light. I ate half of it then and stored the rest for home. My husband got the Italian sandwich which had different cured meats and veggies as well. Both were good and I would definitely return if I was looking for something quick. They didn’t have much for indoor seating, but outside they had tables and a bar top that overlooked the sidewalk. Luckily it was a nice day to eat outdoors!

This place doesn’t look like much, but the Vermont wrap I had was delicious. Walk up to the counter, make your order, and it’s ready a few minutes later. Great for taking lunch to the beach. The prices are a little steep, but it’s worth it for the convenience.

This place is a rip off. We got fries for 4.50 and they want $ 7 for a root beer float! We split a $ 5 fresh shquueze lemonade and I had a defrosted pepperoni pizza for $ 7. Wife had a huge panini for $ 9!!! Wtf? and It was so so without a plate. It costs us $ 27! The kicker was they had no ketchup bottles so we asked for one but then later the worker asked if the customer next to us could use it. That’s right folks they had only one ketchup bottle! I think this place has such huge rent that they’ve got to charge new York City prices!

What a tragic sad little place. First off, the guy behind the counter is beyond weird. He wanted to argue with what I chose to order. The food was fast food greasy spoon diner stuff. I’ve seen some odd places in my time, but this was is just wrong. The music was at a high volume, some idiot hip hop radio station, and seeing as I was the only customer, I asked him to turn it down a bit. He just said«No,» and went back to his oxygen-ingesting. Weird!!! Table was sticky from someone else’s jelly. Crowning blow: a short black hair discovered on my plate … at the end of the meal. Avoid this dump.

I got to admit, despite the stellar reviews, I had moderate expectations for Boardwalk Deli & Ice Cream. I wondered, how good could a tiny boardwalk deli be for a whole meal of food? Well, it can be really, really delightful, Unilocalers. Delightful even for dinner! When my family and I enjoyed Saugatuck for the weekend, we struggled trying to find a family friendly(family included a 7 month old and a 2 year old) restaurant for dinner that wasn’t super fancy or hosted a wait. And while Boardwalk Deli isn’t fancy by any stretch of the imagination, it was just great for what we were looking for. The food was incredibly fresh — a shocker based on how enormous the menu is! While all items are served on disposable plates, expect the food to be extra fresh. The pita and hummus was delicious — tons of warm, soft pita triangles itching to be dunked into flavorful hummus. The fruit bowl was huge and filled to the brim with all sorts of berries and brightness(no filler fruit here). My quesadilla was hearty and while it was stolen by my 2 year old, I did manage to fill up on half of it. I also had a few bite of my husband’s Californian sandwich and the flavors were on point and complex! We didn’t have ice cream but I feel like we had just about everything else. When it comes to ease and deliciousness, Boardwalk Deli knows what’s up in Saugatuck.

Food was delicious, a bit heavy on the cheese in the paninis, but the best part was the ice cream hands down. super delicious, but the place was packed, hard to find anywhere to sit outside.

We came in for a quick bite. I wasn’t really expecting much, to be honest-I thought since the menu was so big and they serve so late, it would probably be nothing special. And we had such a disappointing quick bite at pumpernickel’s the day before that I figured it would be more of the same. I am happy to say I was totally wrong. I ordered a make your own egg white omelet and it was delicious. Everything tastes fresh and delicious. The potatoes that came with it were also good. My boyfriend got an omelet too and his was also tasty. Also, while we were sitting inside, I noticed the manager or owner outside, watering the plants and obviously taking pride in the appearance. The inside is sort of an old school diner but definitely appeared clean. So glad we decided to give this place a try!

This is my second visit and it was honestly the culinary highlight of my trip this weekend. Yes, the food is pricy. Yes, you will have to wait a while. Yes, the place is a little crowded. BUT the food is delicious and the menu is interesting enough to keep me coming back every time I’m in town.

The boardwalk is my go-to because their sandwiches are far from basic. Always super pleased with fresh & unique ingredients. Some favorites are the Gardener Sandwhich, Baja burrito, and Italian panini.

Get the«Gone Fishing» tuna sandwich. One of the best sandwiches I have ever had! Good fries, too.

My boyfriend and I split a cold wrap and a hot burrito. Neither one was anything special. The chicken was super fatty/mushy — like fake/overly processed. I kind of wish we hadn’t wasted our time and money on this lunch spot. Also the soda fountain had about 4 out of 6 selections«out of order». Our total for the 2 sandwiches and a drink was $ 21…definitely better places to eat in the area.

Great food and a great value. Have eaten here for Breakfast and Lunch. The breakfast sandwiches are fantastic. Their coffee is OK, I would suggest grabbing a to-go coffee from Uncommon Coffee Roasters and then heading over to Boardwalk.

Yuck! $ 11 for an itty bitty sandwich that doesn’t even come with a side or anything and was supposed to be hot and was chilly and the cook couldn’t speak English! Never will recommend of go here again.

Yummy Yummy Yummy! We used Unilocal to find a close sandwich place where we could just pick up lunch on our way out of town. This place fit the bill. We ordered over the phone and I stopped in a bit later to pick up. I seemed to throw them off by adding a lemonade to my order… it took FOREVER to be made… note to self, stick with bottled water or a can of pop next time. Our sandwiches were awesome! I wish I could remember the names of them, just know they were delish, and BIG. YUM. Would definitely go back next time we are in Saugatuck

We had a 12-inch pizza and a pretty decent-sized fruit salad, both delicious. The hostess was a lovely European lady, very pleasant(a refreshing change in the somewhat snooty Saugatuck). The service was prompt and the pizza piping-hot, very cheesy, with generous toppings. $ 28 for the pizza, three drinks and the fruit salad – fair, considering that we didn’t have to wait to be seated and that pizza probably takes its rightful place among the very best I’ve tried.

Grabbed a quick bite to eat for dinner here. Not sure why but they were super slow just making 2 sandwiches and we were the only ones there. Gave it 3 stars based on speed. Since it’s a small deli you’d expect it to not take too long. I wouldn’t say the staff was overly friendly, but they weren’t bad. Food was pretty good.
