McAfee Performing Arts and Lecture Center

I came here a few weeks ago to watch the San Jose Wind Symphony’s «True Colors» performance. We had arrived 5 – 10 mins after the show had started, but the staff was really friendly and helped obtain my tickets at will call. They had us wait until the end of the song before letting us in through the doors, which is understandable for all shows.
Once we entered, the seats were first come, first serve seating. It was almost a packed house, so it was a little hard to look for quick seating. We ended up sitting in the back row, but hey, it’s a symphony performance, so it wouldn’t have mattered too much. I’d have to say, even with back row seating, you’re able to see the performers very clearly. The music was amazing, props to the SJ Wind Symphony. The seats were comfortable and lighting was ideal. The sound was good. You’re able to hear the conductor clearly through the mic and the music through the system.
Overall, a really good venue to watch a music performance. Very clean and organized. I do recommend coming 15 – 20 mins if not earlier to give ample time to find parking and seating.

I love this place. The acoustics are great, and it is very well maintained. Always very clean, staff is always friendly, and the place is very pretty. One of the best high-​school theaters I’ve ever been to.
It seats appx. 550 people, not 1000, and the actual McAfee center doesn’t deal with tickets/​all that stuff-​that is all production company.

So frustrating!
This venue holds about a thousand people. I wanted to see «ANNIE» as some of my friends from Hollywood that star in present day films are in this production in Saratoga.
But you can’t just go up to a «window» and buy tickets… Nor can you buy tickets online… No, you have to call a phone number, hear a long advertisement about the show, wait for the beep, listen to actual instructions on how to leave a message (!) then leave your call back number for someone to arrange for your tickets. No one ever calls back! INSANE! I have left many messages.
Needless to say, I am unable to get tix for this show. When i call around and actually get a hold of a person, all they want to do is transfer me to the «ticket» phone number and give me the run around.
This is definitely NOT a well run business!
