Jos. A. Bank

I like to wear cashmere sweaters in cold weather and was dismayed to unpack my winter clothes last November and discover the moths had had a feast at my expense. That same day I went into Jos. A Banks and found they were having a buy one, get 2 free sale on cashmere sweaters. The staff was friendly and very accommodating and, when one of the colors I wanted was not in stock, arranged to have it shipped to me at no charge. That’s why this gets two stars instead of one.
The sweaters, however, were of the worst possible quality. The material is so thin it has no structural integrity and the sweaters quickly stretched into blobs that are only suitable for wearing around the house. All three of the sweaters have developed holes, suggesting the knit is too thin to hold its weave. This is a little more than 2 months after purchase… they didn’t come close to making it through their first winter.
I paid $ 300 for these 3 sweaters which is not an trivial sum even though I’m getting two of them for free. They’re not worth anywhere close to $ 100 each. By comparison, I also bought some cashmere sweaters at Lands End and they’re holding up just fine.
Not likely to be a repeat customer, even with the accommodating staff.

I have shopped at 3 or 4 different jos a bank for dress shirts in the past. They have everything from full suits and sport coats to button up shirts and ties. They have different collections. Signature executive ECT. I have some expensive dress shirts that are not from jos a bank, I have to say I don’t really feel a difference they are similar in quality and cheaper.
I was visiting a friend upstate and i told him i needed to buy a button up dress shirts. He told me there is a jos a bank. When I got to the store the manager approached and asked me if I needed help. I told him I need to buy 2 dress shirts. No bright flashy colors. Just striped shirts to go with my sweater vests or cardigans. He asked my measurements and pulled a few for me to choose from.
I selected 2 button up shirts and was going to the register when I saw a tie with a palm tree on it. I was drawn right to the tie. I have a thing for warm weather, the beach and palm trees. I asked the manager if they had more. I ended up buying 3 palm tree ties in different colors.
Overall this jos a banks is really good. I have no complaints about the location or the service. I don’t really go this far upstate to shop. Just to see friends. I probably will not be back at this store. But I do recommend anyone shopping at this jos a bank. You will not be disappointed.

Disaster averted! We rented tuxedos for my daughter’s wedding from JAB (who uses Jim’s Tuxedo Rental). Groomsmen placed orders at their local store and were to pick them up in ‘toga. We found out the day before the wedding that one tux was still in Reno. This could have been a disaster!
Through the hard work of Christine and especially Ashley (the manager), all turned out well. The ladies ordered a new tux and Ashley coordinated with UPS to meet @ 7am on the day of. She waited for the driver in a parking lot until he arrived @ 9:30! She then called me and met me at the store. Clearly she went above and beyond! A great lady!
