Legit hole in the wall joint. Smoking patio, great beer selection, awesome bartendress, great music, and a bar with pennies on it that I’m pretty sure holds the answer to the meaning of life. Dig it.

This place was fantastic, I grew up for 20 years in Sarasota and never knew the Shamrock existed, however this past month while back in town on vacation I was invited to join the American Outlaws for a match party at Shamrock and I was blown away by the service & staffs knowledge of local and other domestic craft brews. We have several places similar up here in Cincinnati but nothing quite as quaint. 5⁄5

The last 2, maybe 3 times I’ve come here for Happy Hour, they’re conveniently out of Narragansett… not good.

Great little Place! Dan rocks as a beertender. He has my drink ready for me the moment I walk in the bar. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. I don’t drink craft beer but they have a great selection from what everyone there says! If you are in the area stop in, you won’t be disappointed.

The Shamrock is by far my favorite bar in Sarasota and possibly my favorite bar anywhere. The bartenders are friendly and the owner Derek is great. There is always a great mix of customers and I have become friends with many people I have met there. The beer selection is great and priced well. The taco and pizza trucks that are there on occasion serve amazing food. It is located close enough to downtown to walk if you wanted to, but far enough away that you never have to worry about getting a parking spot. I take all of my out of town visitors here and they love it as much as I do.

Stopped in for a few beers. Selection board had run out of the Red that I wanted. Next time, how about removing it from the list since the list is electronic ?? Not too much to ask. Ordered a beer and slowly finished it. When I finished, I tried to order another. The bar maid(A young girl that was short, pretty and in a black dress with short light brown hair who recently moved here from Illinois from what I overheard) walked by my empty glass numerous times. Despite asking her to fill it up again, she served everyone at the bar but me and then went back to polishing glasses. All this while she obviously saw that I had an empty glass in front of me for at least 15 minutes. We left. I can get better service anywhere. Next time, hire a bar maid that understands that having an empty glass in front of a customer means get it filled up ! Ridiculous. Horrible bar service.

Went with friends to Darwin’s on 4th for their Happy Hour thought we’d check out a craft beer bar on our way home and Unilocal led us to Shamrock. Great little neighborhood bar we would have never found on our own. Nice craft beer selection and the best thing in the bar was Annie, our bartender. She knew her stuff and made us feel welcome. Will definitely pop back in if we’re in the neighborhood.

Great little corner bar. No food but the beer selection was good and the staff was friendly. Apparently have an amazing ST. Patricks Day so may have to come back to see.

Great spot. Stop by before an Orioles spring training game. Love that it’s close to the stadium. I would definitely be a regular if I was a local. Great beers and better service. Ask for Erica she is great and knows her beers.

Nice neighborhood gathering place. The beer selection is very good. The bartenders attentive and always interesting. Cash bar only. Atm located within a phone booth. Do stop in for a game of darts and a fun time. Has outdoor patio seating. I must admit this place gets a good rating because I always go there with my fun group. we make our own fun every time.

My wife and I stopped in on Friday afternoon. We were met by Erica behind the bar. She was knowledgeable about the beers on hand(and they have a great, ever changing tap selection) as well as by a craft beer distributor, Will. Both of these people were passionate about their beer and didn’t hesitate to recommend other bars in Sarasota where you could enjoy beer. Very small place but the people were friendly and these two beer lover’s were a joy to be around. Almost too much good conversation… if I had gotten any more comfortable I would have needed a cot set-up for me. Drop in sometime.

Hidden find. This is a very cool, local dive bar, and I say dive bar in the best way! I have been here numerous times and never a bad experience, with either the staff/bartenders or the people there. There are usually some regulars which is cool as well. people are very friendly and I always seem to meet new people. No smoking inside, which I’m a fan of, but there is an patio out back for those that do. Went there once when it was packed and there were large photos of various locals, regulars etc. in their birthday suits(tastefully of course, think George Castanza pose) and the place was packed. They were auctioning off the pictures for a local charity, and everyone in the place was having a great time cheering for those who were willing to do it for charity. It’s that type of place.

I was surprised by how few people celebrate St. Paddy’s day in Fl. I Was in town for vacation over St. Patrick’s day and needed to find an authentic place to celebrate. We were thrilled to find The Shamrock! it felt like a real Irish Pub. Lots of wood, big party area in back and NOGREEN beer.(Green beer is disturbing and unnatural) It also cash only, so be prepared. The service was great even on such a busy day. If I happen to find myself in the area again I will make a point to stop in for a pint or 2.

Great domestic microbrew selection. Friendly staff. Good place to meet locals who can tell you the good places to eat that the tourists/snowbirds don’t know about. We had fun there. If you are looking for some local color and draft beer, this is your place.

Still a Little dirty. No longer Very smokey. Still Quite friendly and great selection of beer. I love this bar. They are always bringing in live music and throwing parties. Bartends rock and good music on the juke. Bring cash, else you’ll be using the atm machine in the phone booth ;)

The Shamrock is one of Sarasota’s hidden gems. They carry an amazing selection of high quality craft beers. The Shamrock Summer BBQ Series is the number one reason that I have to start coming out more frequent this time of year! Every Tuesday night, June through August, The Shamrock is the only place to be. For 15 dollars Chef Jeff Sladky from Mattison’s 41 was cooking up Apricot Glazed Grilled Pork Belly with a white bean-chorizo cassoulet, petite herb salad and a bottomless cup of Dunedin’s Apricot Wheat Ale. Chef Jeff also brought some homemade sweet and salty ice cream but I was enjoying the beer and good company too much at that point. I had a blast and met some of the real movers and shakers in an atmosphere that made everyone feel at home. There is only one question I left thinking about, whats on the menu next week!
