Expert Nails

This place is hands down the best salon in Sarasota! Knowing where it is, you would never expect such a clean, renovated salon with new chairs and iPads at every chair. Alway’s offering a beverage. Jay the new manager is a super nice guy and does a great job. Keep up the great work!

I got a mani and deluxe pedi, they did a nice job on both. Only down side is: the massage chair they use for the pedicures kind of sucked (for me this is a must). They don’t have paraffin another bummer :(just happy they did a nice job at least

Truly horrible, we were so excited about the good review on a $ 10 manicure, but this was the worst, most I relaxing nail care experience ever (coming from someone with a lot of experience with both poor and good nail service).
On the phone we were told it was $ 10 for a manicure, when we got there the man told me it was going to be an extra $ 5 to take my polish off (I didn’t even have false nails on). Then he started using the electric drill in my natural nails and even when I asked him not to use it twice he still did. The polish job ended up coming out streaky and clumpy.
Then after we had been drying our nails for 5mins he came over and asked for our money and told us we were done and turned off the fan. After he walked away we turned it back on to continue drying our nails. Another few minutes later he came over and said «you done, you leave now.» I told him that my nails were still tacky and he said «no you dine.» And I told him again that they were still a bit tacky and that I wanted to make sure they were completely dry first but he said «no, you’re done» and turned the fan off again.
So out into the rain we went and no sooner had we reached our car that my friend ruined one of her nails.

This place is awful! They tell you a certain price on the phone and then charge you more when you come in after you have already agreed on a price with them. Also, you’re nails don’t come out shiny at all!

As an out of town visitor I had left home without having time to get my nails done. I had gotten recommendations from all sorts of people around the Sarasota area, all of which were very far from where I was staying.
Almost every year I travel to Longboat Key for vacation and many places on the island are quite pricey especially for manicures and pedicures.
As I was driving around Sarasota, I stumbled upon Expert Nails. It is located next to Hungry Howie’s (which did a large amount of take-​out business in the hour I was there), which I soon realized was not necessarily a place I want to be after dark. I rolled in around 7:00 PM which I noticed thats what time they were supposed to close. However a girl was standing by the door holding it looking around, wondering if anyone else was going to come in for business. I would never go in a place when I knew it was closing but being unfamiliar with the area, and the fact the OPEN sign was still on I figured I might as well ask if they had time. My nails were in need of attention.
When I asked to see if they had time, without a doubt they said of course. They even asked if I wanted something to drink, wine, water, etc. I was fine just happy they could fit me in before closing down. I told them if they wanted they could give me a manicure while I was getting a pedicure. They did exactly that which made me very happy! That’s the attention I wanted because I was in a hurry. A few more people came in and were able to get their nails done. The nail techs all seemed very happy and not stressed that they were staying there after hours. After an hour of being there both my manicure and pedicure were finished. I didn’t care how much it was going to cost but I already knew I was going to way overtip. They were so nice the entire time and even stayed after hours just to help me out. Each nail tech was getting $ 10 for being so kind and doing such great work. She totaled me up and said $ 30. I was shocked. That is so much less than I am used to paying at home.
My nails were the shiniest I have ever seen them and I would go back to this place again and again. I will definitely be back next year.
