Firehouse Subs

I own a business in the same shopping center and visit frequently. Firehouse does it right. Good service. Friendly people. Store always clean and nice. And most importantly the food quality is great!

Why can’t you give 0 stars! They don’t deserve the one I’m forced to give in order to let you know how horrible of an operation they are running. How the f do u run out of ice really? How is it I place an online order for pick up and you have no record of it really! And your going to comp me my kids rice crispy treats how kind of you really! I will do everything in my power to make sure they are out of business in the next 6 weeks. Although I’m sure I won’t have to do much they will self destruct on their own. Lousy service lousy business operations. O yeah the sandwiches tasted like baby vomit

Firehouse sub’s is such high quality, amazing food! Its so unfortunate that one location has the ability to take away from that. You would think that because because they raise money and support our local dispatchers that the people involved in this store would hold high morale and be a character of amazing quality. Unfortunately for this store, that is not the case. To put it simply, your first step into this store is filled with negative energy and awkwardness. The employees don’t want you to be there as much as they don’t want to be there & I completely understand why. The owner has a special talent of making people incredibly uncomfortable. Not only that, but the only consistent thing bout the food at this location is that they’re going to mess up your order, its going to be slopply made, and if you complain you will be demoralized and talked down upon by either the management team or the owners. Like I said, the foods amazing… I’d just recommend a different location. Any time I’ve been to a firehouse I haven’t been disappointed, except for here (just saying).

Got the number 6 Club on a sub, Large. It was very very good, but too big! Love the melted cheese, warm bacon and how saucy it was. Food is always good, but the tables needed some attention, they are always dirty, soda machine as well. Food-​wise a 5, but have to knock down a few due to a dirty dining area.

I had the beef smokehouse brisket 2ice now. A high quality product. Worth driving to Santee to get. Could only eat half. So delicious. Had the other half at home even better there! You nailed it Firehouse Subs!

First time was fine, but the second time I stopped in on impulse, starving. I opened my sandwich at home to find… literally only lettuce. I was in a hurry and it was obviously a mistake, so I didn’t bother going back/​calling at that point, but I have to admit it was a disappointment that prevents me from stopping again.

Nice size small sandwich, bigger than I expected and there was plenty of meat on the Italian. The bread, wheat, was fresh and had a nice flavor. The only thing I will order differently would be less mayo and add some oil and vinegar. It was plenty for lunch, good job guys

I tried it here and I love it!!! It’s just like back home in GA. … I was so happy when I saw they have one here they didn’t disappoint

We always have a yummy meal here. I love being able to pick and choose my soda and to make a cherry limeade too!

I always love coming to Firehouse. The food is really good, and it’s a great deal on kids eat free night.

I was shocked to see 3 star rating for a Firehouse Subs, because the food is so great.
However, once I came during a very light rush, I realized why.
Their policy for discounts do not align with the other Firehouse Subs in the area.
The sweet ice tea is not sweet, again.
The wait and backup is a bit unexpected.
This is also a very very child friendly place.

Really expensive for what you get ($ 22 for two sandwiches)! Soggy bread, way too much sauce. While the sandwiches we got were adequate, I honestly can’t think of a worse sandwich place in Santee. This is the first time in my life I have uttered «Should have gone to Subway»!

If you have never been here before, you are missing out! This truly is a dude’s sandwich shop. They have a HUGE display of different chili sauces you can grab to add to your sandwich. They are numbered in accordance to the heat level. The gals behind the counter were happy and eager to offer suggestions as we were there for our first time. The flavor is outstanding. I always have to doctor up my sandwiches but they were spot on. Don’t wear your best clothes here and if you do bring your own bib haha. They can be messy! 2 thumbs up from 2 fluffy foodies.

I had to give it one star to be able to post something. I have been here several times and it’s always great. EXCEPT FOR THIS EVENING. We arrived 20 minutes to closing and right when we pulled up, the two employees looked at us like «damn». One employee had already mopped the floor and the other one was behind the counter. We proceeded to order and when one she asked for here or to go, the other employee said «it has to be to go». Then proceeded to say something about having to close out and count the money. Shouldn’t that be done after 9pm which is when they close? Not to mention the fact that it was raining and we live far away. There was no way we could have had it to go. I call BS on your closing staff.

Update! We are back for round 2 and it is 3x better than before!
First, the owner is very professional. I appreciate him emailing me and apologizing for the first time we ate here. Also, he went above and beyond for offering us free meals to prove their worth.
The medium drinks are huge! Lol I thought she had given us a large. Also the soda machine is super cool =)
We got the #2 Firehouse Meatball & #3 New York Steamer Sub. (Please note: get the veggies with the #3 to make it more filling)
#2 — Very good! Sauce is a bit sweet and goes well with the meatballs/​bread. ($ 8.78 for sandwich, chips, and soda)
#3 — Very tasty and a LOT more filling. ($ 9.08 for sandwich, chips, and a soda)
Btw owner is very personable. He talked to guest, kids, cleaned tables and explained the menu. Love to see an owner actively involved with their business. Also, the new manager is much nicer/​better than the other one
My suggestions: Get the meal
My only cons
— little congested (there are tables close to the line to order, so when you stand in line, you are in front of the chips. This cause congestion/​being in people’s way as they are grabbing chips)
— the price is still a bit high in my opinion but the quality of food makes up for it
— the cashier asked me if I wanted the lettuce, tomato, and onion. I think this should be automatically put on the sandwich (not asked) because it made me think that it was an extra and I wanted to eat the sandwich as it is normally is served. The veggies make a difference! Get them =)
This experience was so much better than before.

Simply put, there are better alternatives nearby.
Shop layout is very strange. Not sure why being in line puts you standing directly next to chairs and tables occupied by customers. Also, by being in line you block the drink station. Ordering is in a crowded area for no reason.
Ordering always feel rush. Also, oddly long time to receive the orders. I have been during busy times and not so busy times. There are plenty of workers because you could see them, so I’m not sure what the problem is.
Very unfriendly and unhelpful workers.
A great concept to help firefighters. They tried for a fire station theme I think, but it misses the mark hard.
It always seems too difficult to order, and the turnaround is too long. The price is too expensive for what you get.

First time here as a friend took me and I was very impressed.
Menu & offerings are different than Jersey Mikes & Subway so it was a refreshing alternative to experience.
Service was fast and friendly for the lunch time and the Momma’s chicken walnut salad sandwich was awesome on the traditional wheat bread (under 500 calories too)
Interior was well laid out with the condiments (if you needed them) was easily accessed.
I’ll be back soon to try the Pulled Pork and Hawaiian Slaw on the Hawaiian Roll next time.

Yes the service is slow, but that is only because people trying to order their sandwiches have no idea what they want or even where to order despite the sign that says order here.
After I ordered my sandwich it only took about five minutes for it to be made.
I love the hook and ladder.

First time at Firehouse subs and was very happy with the food! I ordered the club on a sub and was very pleased with the service, staff, and quality of the food. Price is very comparable to Subway or Jersey Mikes, but tastes a lot better. They also have a Coca-​Cola Freestyle Machine, which allowed me to get Vanilla Coke :) I will definitely be coming back to this establishment.

Firehouse Subs has been slowly finding its way into San Diego and this is the first location in East County that I am aware of. I came in after work and ordered the regular Italian Sub on wheat with no mayo but everything else. I ordered the combo deal, so I also got a bag of BBQ chips and iced tea (
).
The Italian was great and came loaded with honey ham, a good amount of pepperoni and salami served on top fresh tomato slices and fresh chopped lettuce (
). I was a big fan of the moist warm toasted wheat bread which tasted great, but I felt the sandwich could of use more melted provolone cheese (
). Then again, I really like cheese. The dressing, oil and vinegar base, was flavorful and light.
The offer a variety of revolving hot sauces to add on your eats, kids meals, freshly baked cookies and brownies, salads under 500 calories, and Firehouse Chili! Service was fine. They girl who took my order was friendly and informed regarding the shops operations.
