I CANNOT believe someone has not reviewed this place before. I was in Lakeport, I purchased two batteries for my truck(Lakeport is 2 hours away). I got back to the truck and the batteries were incorrect. The O’Reilly’s in Lakeport was closed by the time I figured this out, so I brought the 313.00 worth of batteries back to Santa Rosa with me as the return policy allows for items to be returned at a different store. When purchasing the batteries, I was told that they cold not be returned if they were used, which makes sense to anyone right? I walked into this O’ Rielly’s with two batteries. No help with the door of course, just a couple people looking at me, watching me carry these two heavy beasts. I get to the counter, explain that the batteries were incorrect for what I needed. The lovely well mannered individual(insert sarcasm here) Named Rene looks at the batteries and says, rudely: «I can return this one but not this second battery because you used it» «Ummm, no, I did not use the battery — how could I use the battery if it is incorrect»? «I don’t know but you did so you have to keep it» I continued to explain that how could I use the battery if it was the wrong connector type(side posts not top posts) and he insisted repeatedly that I had used the battery, even pointing to a mark on it says«see this, it’s used». I stepped away from the counter and called up to the Lakeport store and talked to an awesome man named Stewart(shout out to Stewart). I explained myself and Stewart asked to speak to Rene and Rene’s response was: «I don’t want or need to talk to him. If you have a problem with it you can speak to the manager». Rude right? Even Stewart was a little shocked. I told Stewart I would have to call him back. Then the conversation went like this: «OK, that’s fine. I would like to speak to your manager please» «Oh, well Javier is not here» «OK, when will he be back» «Maybe in a hour. Either way he is busy» I lug my non used battery back out to my truck and leave to run some errands. I returned to this same store 2 hours later and carry my battery inside, again, and again under the watchful eye of two employees, one of them Rene. «Hello. I would like to speak to Javier please» Rene«He is not back yet.» «Really? Your store manager has been gone 2 hours or more? What exactly would he need to be doing gone that long? When will he be back?! I came back as you said to do»? Employee number two: «Hey! Don’t you talk bad about Javier — he is the boss and he works really hard and he does not answer to you — if we say he is not here he is not here» Are you F**king kidding me?! I immediately left the store(carrying my battery AGAIN) and drive strait to the Rohnert Park Store. Within less than 10 minutes at the Rohnert Park store, I was helped by two kind people, one lady being the store manager. I learned that Rene is the District Managers son or cousin or some family member(maybe that’s why he gets a hall pass for being a pr*ck) and that she, and the nice man helping(who immediately grabbed my battery upon we walking in the door) were very sorry. The super nice guy(I forget his name) checked the battery and said that the battery was not in fact used, but he suggested it was a ‘transfer’ battery, or an E5(whatever that means) and that the battery had a mark from being tested. I returned the battery, was given a complimentary bottle of water, was given instructions on how to do my customer service survey(which I never heard back from either). Moral of the story: Rene is an A**hat and don’t go to this O’reillys — take an extra 10 minutes and go to the store in RP where you will be appreciated!
