I go into Joann’s in Santa Rosa quite often because it is convenient, however the attitude and service of the staff is the worst. They are never helpful and seem to be put out by any question you may have. Their return /exchange policy is crazy I was just told to come back when the manager was working to exchange an item. Your customers are expected to know your managements schedule and come in at a proper time to get the help they need? Horrible service!

uh. yeah… it took me writing several letters to their CORPORATEHEADQUARTERS out of state to get anything done about the horrid bathrooms and the a/c continually broken. as an almost daily shopper there, these things DO directly affect me and because I now know some of the employees on a first name basis from being such frequent shopper, I know these things affected them as well. So after months of writing, those two problems and several others as well were finally addressed by corporate. THEN they hire the most horrible woman I’ve ever met to be their store manage. omg, listening to this idiot yell at her employees in front of customers is beyond ridiculous and seriously undeserved as their employees were some of the nicest, most helpful workers anywhere! This was NOT an isolate incident, but happened several times over the course of months, so i reported her without any repercussions obviously because the B is still there! I have overheard the employees talking about how some of their best were herded into her office and forced to quit or she was going to fire them. How sad! I noticed a few months ago that some of the regular employees were gone around the same time. :(Perhaps an internal audit or review by corporate headquarters is in order? Whenever the B manager appears to work at the register its all i can do not to die laughing in line. She doesn’t seem to know how to use coupons, apply discounts, look up products etc. I mean, WHYISSHETHEMANAGER??? And WHAT is she actually managing. I flat out refuse to be waited on by her if its my turn in line when she’s there and I will wait for a different employee to help me when they are free. The store itself is seemingly always out of the ¼″ ribbon I need and buy on a weekly basis and other items like the wash away wonder tape are frequently out of stock as well. this store needs some help. start by firing the manager and things should get better.

I always seem to have a great experience at Joann’s, Monica the manager, was very helpful with me helping to select an appropriate fabric for my project. Staff seemed knowledgeable and friendly and helped with coupons at checkout. I like the consistency of product and pricing in this store

Even though I went during a very busy day, things went smoothly. Prompt and very helpful service at the cutting table! Both the cashier and the woman helping at the cutting table helped me use coupons that were available online. I wish the aisles were labeled more clearly, but overall great service.

I try to spend my money locally whenever possible, so rather than place an order with Amazon, I placed it with Joanns. I realize it is the holiday time, but it took a week to prepare for shipping and delivery isnt expected to be here for another 5 days. Thats a long time to wait. I need the lamp to work. I wont be shopping Joanns as it takes too long in the store as well. You need more help if you want more business. Happy holidays and better luck next year.

Two people ringing the Saturday before thanksgiving and a line twenty people long. Please staff your store properly. Saw a couple elderly customers struggling to wait so long. Start a line for customers over 85.

Convenience. Certain things are more expensive than Beverly’s. Staff here do not seem approachable or willing to help. They seem to be occupied doing something else or just dont have the time to stop.

This business gets 2 stars only because it does have reasonable inventory but then, it is about the only game in town. The staff excels in being indifferent, disinterested and on the verge of just plain rude. Don’t bother asking for help or for them to do anything other than cut fabric or check you out at the register — not sure anyone is capable of anything more. They do have good coupons, which is a plus, but have to get in the right frame of mind to subject myself to the staff and chaotic store.

It seems I’m in the minority here when I say that I actually really like Jo-Ann’s. They have a good selection of basic garment construction fabrics, and they have good prices. If you find a certain fabric that you like, but they’re low on it, they are happy to special order you more if it’s still in season. They don’t seem to have a huge staff, so if you have a question you usually need to seek someone out, but I always find a helpful staff member relatively close by. If you know what you want, this is the place to get it for a pretty good price(especially if you subscribe to their emails)!

Very poor customer service plus their systems are all screwed up. Fabric scanners don’t work properly, their stock database is roughly 40 hours behind actual stock supplies(I was told this by other Joann’s stores also so it’s system-wide.) My recommendation is if you find a fabric you think you may want, don’t hesitate or it’ll be gone and trying to find it on the website is very sketchy. You should have them hold the entire bolt for you for 24 hours and hope that it’ll still be on hold if you go back to buy it! The management really needs to get on the stick and straighten things out at this store.

I’m back again in a desperate search for thread in a hard– to-find color. Why can’t someone open a decent fabric store in Santa Rosa? The trash can that was overflowing in a ten foot radius, followed by a selection of items that no-one would ever want didn’t improve my entrance to Jo-Ann’s. It shouldn’t be necessary to take a deep breath before entering a store. Jo-Ann’s is a chaotic overflow of craft stuff(not my first word choice) hiding some quality and useful items. This chaos, combined with an absence of helpful employees, made finding thread a way-too-long ordeal. Another painful experience at Jo-Ann’s.

Not impressed with some of the customer service by management. When asking about a vinyl color I was looking for as I needed another yard of a color I’d already gotten she was quick to just tell me she had no idea when the new shipment would be in and has no control over when they do or dont restock or IF they would even get it in again and if I needed to order it as a special order I’d be possibly waiting up to 10 weeks and the order would need to be over 10 yards or its not considered a special order and they cant do it. Really? They have no way of doing anything to help when I’m in the middle of a project? Well I went back the following week in hopes of new stock. Still not in BUT I did speak to a more helpful employee who actually checked in the back and at another store in less then 20mins had gone out of his way to help me out and was able to have the other store hold the material for me to pick up. I’d give him all 5stars based on his customer service, hers on the otherhand was ridiculous, whether or not she was having a bad day I dont know. I’ve always loved Joanns and the helpful staff with crafty ideas when I’m shopping around so hopefully this was an isolated situation as I’m in there quite a bit.

Wow ! First of all I am not a craft person but they had décor I wanted for the Holidays I will tell you that Melissa treated me very unprofessionally. Asked her if she went on Pinterest! She has other things to do. Was so disrespectful to a call in customer. Didn’t offer me a Sat coupon. Didn’t thank me. Wow’ I will never shop there again. Perhaps a job in the stock room would be better

Ive always been a Joanns fabric customer for over ten years. Im more or a seamstress than crafter so I enjoy their selection of fabrics. The tools and accessories are extensive and I generally find what im looking for. The employees ive met the last few times ive been in have been nice and helpful with my questions. They are still my go-to fabric and craft store over beverlys and michaels

For the most part the employees are ok. I’ve dealt with 2 that were downright rude and angry that I was bothering them, but they were soon set straight cause I don’t put up with it. Now I notice neither of them work there any longer. Love the store, they have lots of fun supplies and fabrics so I go there often. Hint: if you come across a rude employee anywhere, let them know they’re rude. One employee at this JoAnn’s grunted at me… her way of asking how much fabric I wanted cut. I looked her square in the eyes until she found her voice about 5 seconds into the stare down and asked politely how much fabric I needed. She even said thank you when I was leaving. Of course, personnel should not hire employees that grunt at their customers in the first place.

This is the worst place if you want any help. Everyone that works there seems like they HATE being there. I asked for help and the girl didn’t even look me in the face. I didn’t even know if she heard me. Then I asked another girl for help and same thing. HORRIBLE feeling and tense just trying to purchase something. I will never go here again. I would rather buy a loom and make my own fabric then go in here again.

Not the best. Not the worst. I really only go there for the yarn. Their prices have gone way up, so honestly I don’t step foot in there unless I know they are having an epic sale. Or… I have a good coupon on my Joann’s app. The sales associates are probably the most cantankerous people I’ve ever met. Generally try to stay clear if them.

I’m JUST getting into sewing, so I’m no expert. So, I can’t say too much about selection– because I just don’t know enough yet to say one way or another. Staff is generally nice, but slooooooow. God forbid you need any fabric cut because you’ll be there for a long time. The aisles aren’t labeled which makes things difficult– especially for someone like me who only has a vague idea of what I’m looking for. But, again, considering that I’m not knowledgeable enough yet to really know the difference, it suits my purposes and has everything I’ve looked for so far.

Man, I am torn about this place. Pros: Lots of great coupons — if you plan ahead, you can get a very good deal. They have a decent selection of fabrics, but I think the selection at the Rohnert Park store is better. Some employees are very knowledgable & helpful.(Hint: they are older than 30.) Cons: Hate the layout, especially the huge«wall» you encounter when you walk in the store — how unwelcoming can you be? Emphasis on crafts and junky crap. They could expand and upgrade their fabric selection. Many employees can’t be helpful because they don’t know much about sewing! During my last visit a few days ago, one employee didn’t know that such a thing as mid-weight interfacing existed and confessed she doesn’t sew much. Takes forever to get stuff cut, and the checkout line is usually quite long.

still not thrilled with this location, however I do come here when I get 40% off coupons online, and take them in and get great discounts. The fabric(reg price) is usually a dollar or 2 more than beverly’s to begin with, so know what you are getting. occasionally you can get 50% off coupons too, which makes it worth while. My original feeling about the staff however still stands.
