I have been going to Café Des Croissants for years and years and as of today I will not be returning. The staff changes regularly, none of them seem to know what is going on. The space is disheveled and poorly ran. They actually ran out of croissants!

My husband and I stopped in here when we were in Montgomery Village and I remembered Café Des Croissants from its early days on Lomitas on the other end of town. I glanced at their fresh croissants but we weren’t really that hungry so I went quickly to the day-old selection. I was glad to see they still have that, though on my visit it was mostly just bagels. We got a bag of bagels(plastic bag) and the line was short to pay and leave. The woman behind the counter was polite and there were customers in the store, though the displays of croissants felt a little lackluster. The bagels we got were«A-Okay» for three stars, but weren’t anything special. I’d rather get bagels at Noahs… The one onion bagel that was in the bag sort of permeated everything and it all tasted a little like onions. Unlike other places, their onion bagel was 100% covered top and bottom with tiny chunks of onions that were not cooked to a crisp. They were soft and insanely sticky. The pink colored bagel I tried(was it cranberry?) was so mild in flavor I couldn’t really tell what it was. Sesame bagel was fine as was the wheat bran bagel(but who likes those?). Final bagel was a mystery to me. Maybe«plain»? It was okay but very boring. I probably wouldn’t come back here unless I thought they would have day-old croissants rather than just day old bagels. I’d rather go back to the store on Lomitas to see if it is more like what I remember from my youth.

all the time I’m going to the store in the morning the employees are very slow to make coffee or sandwich and one of them always flirts with my boyfriend and that makes me disrespect the manager is very slow and rude and always lacking something in my food not again return to that place.

The first time my boyfriend and I came here we ordered simple breakfast bagels. They were fantastic. The second and third time we came back we ordered the same thing again but it was made by someone else and they were SOSLOPPY. Drowned in quarter-inch thick crème cheese and the bacon wasn’t even in the bagel, just kind of dangling from the sides. Such a mess. Does anyone like that much cream cheese? Just assembling the bagels with more care would make a world of difference– no one likes their breakfast on their hands.

The last two times I tried this place my croissants were heavy, wet and very dense. Wonder if the oven is off… Definitely not light and flaky. Because of that, Costco croissants are better! And they also have chocolate croissants, so… no reason to come back. That makes me sad.

Stopped in this morning after an appointment. I was surprised to see it practically empty. Practically empty of people… the case almost empty of croissants and definitely empty of manners. I understand this establishment has been known to have long lines. I’ve actually experienced that indirectly as the last time I ate a pastry from here, I sat in the car waiting for a friend who stood in line. Of course it was worth the wait… that time. Today, however, was a different story. With a total of four people in line in front of me, two were getting coffee, the other two were ordering breakfast sandwiches. As for me, I just wanted a taste of something I had remembered from the previous visit when I sat in the car. Well the two people ordering drinks left, the other two got their breakfast which just left me and a practically empty pastry case. Obviously it’s solid reputation for delicious croissants has preceded itself, otherwise the case would have been full. But the girl who was taking care of said case apparently needed a break so I was waited on by a young man who had been manning the coffee station. Apparently I did not rate this morning. The young gentleman was nice enough and even told me that I was entitled to a free croissant, which I got. It was while he was ringing up my order that it went down hill. I purchased my pastries using a debit card. I handed it to him, he swiped my card, handed it back to me, and then turned the credit card machine around to face me. At that point, he put his hands together in prayer, bowed and then walked away, leaving me to figure out what to do next. First of all, you never walk away from your customers. Ever! What if they have never been there before… like myself? What was I supposed to do now? Fortunately, I am tech savvy enough to figure things out. What this young man did was just rude. Once I was finished, my receipt printed out with no one to hand it to me. I felt extremely uncomfortable leaning over the counter to take it off the machine… almost as if I was stealing it or something. Second, as an establishment with a healthy business, you need to provide the best customer service so that your repeat business continues. Not only did the young man walk away from me, he did not even say thank you, hand me my receipt or wish me a good day. In fact, as I walked out, he looked the other way. So, thank you for making me feel welcome sir. Except for your flip comment about the pink box and how everyone was going to love me when they saw it, I don’t think you even cared that I was there. What you don’t know is that I was there to do a review on the business and the products it serves. What a pity! The croissants were mediocre at best and the service was dismal. Repeat business indeed. I won’t be back. .

What happened??? The croissants used to be so good. I haven’t been here for a couple years and decided to go in and grab a couple of my favorites. Croissants were so dense not the moist and flaky croissants that I remember. Do not recommend but if you do go get a large coffee or something to drink because your going to need something to make the croissant go down.

I wish I had read the reviews first. All the croissants were dense and lacked that flaky fresh buttery essence that makes a croissant so wonderful. The filling was just OK. Chai tea was good. Café mocha was very sub par. Only one employee during a very busy morning business. She was nice but got very confused on our order while the line got longer and longer behind us. Will never go back again!

Pedestrian on a good day. Service is woeful. If they fart in your general direction consider yourself a favored regular.

Three stars for the service… Sometimes less. The breakfast sandwiches are good; I especial like the«healthy choice». We come for the food, not the experience. The staff is usually slow, disorganized, and have difficulty taking down orders.

The chai tea and the chips were okay. The panini was like a soggy grilled ham and cheese that’s been flattened five times too many. The cheese wasn’t even melted. The only reason they have two stars is that the croissants are pretty decent. Not fabulous, but better than average. If all you want is a coffee and croissant, it’s fine. If you’re looking for lunch, I’d find another place.

Sister and mom split a BLT, but they forgot to add avocado. They were pretty busy though. I got the Pesto panini and it was delicious! Only lost a star because of the avocado and because I think they are a little overpriced.

My older sister used to go here all the time and bring me home a croissant and I always loved them! I work in the area and always go there to grab a bite! I already knew what I liked and I always ordered the same thing. I started to order some coffee and I just love it! The taste isn’t super consistent depending on the worker that makes it but it’s still good. Their workers are super friendly! I love walking in and seeing their bright smiling faces. I usually see Ryan, Brittany or Katie there and they are super amicable people. I will definitely continue going here!

3.5 Stars… nothing special. Not bad, not great. I got a coffee and a bagel. I wish i would have known that the literally pile on the cream cheese. Made a damn mess in the car, haha. Pretty good coffee, I’ve seen better prices else where… but hey, it gets the job done. I’ll reconsider giving them 4 stars on my next visit.

Picked up 4 dozen assorted minis this morning to take to the office and they were a huge hit. Always fresh and tasty.

We stopped by Café Des Croissants to snack before going to our main destination, Russian River Brewery. The almond chocolate croissant was pretty tasty with nice flaky texture. I shared the croissant with friends. I think it would have been too heavy to eat by myself. The sweet almond and chocolate paste in the inside of the croissant is good, but I think would be too sweet if I ate the whole thing in one sitting. The coffee was pretty horrible, so the stars given are mainly for the croissants. The coffee was a bit sour. Even the latte with milk and vanilla syrup tasted a bit off. The service was friendly. Their outdoor seating is really nice. There’s overhangs and tarp type things in this plaza, so the outdoor seating is nice and shady. If I came here again, I would just pick up a croissant and not get any coffee. I wouldn’t mind coming here again if I was in the area.

I actually really like their croissants! I usually am not a big fan of croissants, but the ones here are pretty tasty. My absolute favorite croissant from here is the chocolate almond. It’s so tasty! I could eat those every day for breakfast. The fruit ones aren’t as good as the chocolate ones, though. They’re kinda pricey when you buy them fresh, but they have day old croissants on a rack for half off. I try to stop by here when I’m driving back to San Jose to pick some up for my boyfriend who loves croissants!

I like their croissants and the outdoor seating is nice. I particularly recommend a croissant they make with a bit of brie and some kind of herb on it. VERY good. Better in the morning, they tend to be chewy/greasy toward the end of the day– as is the case with most similar baked goods. They have a sort of «happy hour» where things are half off after 4. It’s a nice time to meet a friend for a cup of coffee(their coffee is pretty decent and cheap!) and a little something sweet.

Inexpensive with a nice variety of baked goods. Sampled the cinnamon roll and a fruit filled with coffee, paid around six and half dollars. The bakery items were suitable, filling and not overly sweet. For a Monday afternoon it was quiet and there was an ample collection of baked items still available. I would probably stop back for a coffee and next time go for a bagel instead. People watching on this side of the mall is pretty boring and for some strange reason only caters to those much, much more mature in age.

This is my stop by place for a cup of Joe when I’m doing my ross shopping. I haven’t tired the baked goods but they always look tasty. Coffee is good. Service is prompt and friendly, and prices are reasonable.
