Cool place. Horrible food. Ordered multiple tacos then spent the rest of the time figuring out which one was worse…

Very disappointed with the quality of food here. My chorizo taco tasted like it had been cooked days ago and reheated — very dry with little flavor. The guacamole was good however.

We went on a very busy night and the service was very fast. The veggie taco was pretty good. The shrimp one was also good. The fish taco was horrible. Very dry with no flavor. I usually love fish tacos but I couldn’t stomach this one. The food is expensive(what isn’t in this area?!) and mediocre. If you are starving and want something quick(and don’t have reservations) it’s not a bad spot.

Terrible experience. Not only is the food overpriced, but you are charged an arm and a leg for an included 15% gratuity and an «A&E Surcharge». Our bill ended up being $ 40 for 4 tacos, chips and salsa, and 2 drinks(1 alcoholic). Seems like a decent amount of food; it’s not. Not only do the tacos fall apart(soft shell by the way, no clarification on their part), but the chicken is especially dry, the cilantro is overpowering and the portions are small for what you are charged for. Won’t return.

Don’t waste your time or money unless you are just having a drink. Food is very disappointing, and they seem to always mess up your order.

The mediocre reviews are warranted. They get 2 stars for having a great location. The food is edible. It’s not as bad as a taco bell. But its not as good as Chipotle and it costs 5 times as much. You are definitely better off trying the food trucks across the street. Maybe the other bud and alley restaurants are better but my experience here scared me away from trying any of the other Bud and Alley options in seaside.

Portions are consistent with prices, and the food is prepared quickly! There’s ample seating, and the margaritas are worth try. I’ve eaten her multiple times and picked up take-out. My order has always been correct, and the food is fresh! Try the Taco Salad or the Tortilla Soup. Guacamole is fabulous as well! Fresh chips!

Best tacos I’ve ever had. Got the grilled shrimp it had so much flavor. We also got the queso. We get queso at every Mexican place we go, by far the best

We were lounging on the beach and wanted a quick and easy lunch, so the Taco Bar was the obvious choice. These are beach prices — $ 4.75 for 1 taco. There was plenty of meat on the Grilled fish taco, as well as slaw and green salsa. The grilled shrimp taco was just ok; it came will a grilled corn salsa, but it wasn’t hot nor terribly flavorful. The guacamole was the right texture but needed salt and some seasoning. They had several Mexican beers, as well as Margaritas. Not a bad meal if you’re seeking convenience.

Total joke. 15% tip added for a walk up taco bar? Makes no sense. Food was cold. $ 100 for 2 adults and 2 kids. FOR tacos!!! Won’t be back

One of the better quick dining options in Seaside. I have had the grilled shrimp tacos 3 years now and I found this is the only place I come back to for lunch. 2 tacos and a Margarita $ 21. A good way to start the day.

Complete disappointment. Bud and Alley’s should pick up their game. Food was average and service was without a smile. Seriously, we’re locals and can’t imagine why they cant come up with a better product and service.

My wife and I just ate there. We drove a very long way and needed something to digest pronto. We chose this place, and we got food which is what we needed. They charge 15 percent gratuity for each transaction which of course is what everyone complains of. I had a shrimp burrito, my wife had a steak burrito. We both shared chips and salsa. Her steak was pretty tasty, but the shrimp burrito tasted more like bland refried beans with very little shrimp. The salsa was ok, not overly tomatoey. I don’t recommend this place. I would think that the ones who say their meals were great happen to live in small southern towns where there is no way to reference their experience against what is available to them. The fact that this is not a higher rated joint is pretty accurate as well.

Overpriced mediocre tacos. We got 4 tacos, chips and queso, a soda and a beer for $ 40. Really disappointing. Servers were friendly, but they should be considering it’s bar service and they automatically charge 15% service fee. Go somewhere else

Gross. Wouldn’t let me have chicken and steak which they had both ingredients. I’m pretty sure they used American cheese on my quesadilla because it tasted like a grilled cheese with steak. My steak had no flavor or spice. My fiancé got two TINY tacos and they had no spice or flavor either but weren’t horrible. Only good part was his homemade salsa… Wish his tiny expensive meals came with chips so you could enjoy it but they don’t.

Good fish tacos, even better quaso dip and sangria. Outdoor seating. 15% is added to each check, which is a little annoying because I like to determine my own tip. Neat location, close to the beach and city center. Great for a quick lunch before you hit the beach.

GREAT tacos. I had the baja fish and the shrimp and they were light, fresh, extremely flavorful and still rather filling. My mom had the taco salad and said it was just ok, but we were all impressed with the margaritas. Every ingredient that went into the ‘ritas was fresh, hand squeezed, deliciousness. The guacamole was good too. It’s a little pricier(around $ 4 per taco) but that’s to be expected in this neck of the woods. Be forewarned, this is an outdoor food stand. There’s plenty of seating at colorful picnic tables or just around the corner in an outdoor pergola, but if you’re looking for something more highbrow this may not be the ticket. That being said, it was wonderful sitting outside, feeling the beach breeze, sipping drinks and eating seafood tacos, plus the general ambiance of downtown Seaside is so quaint that it made this the perfect last place to eat before we ended our trip.

In theory this place is awesome! In realty it’s a great location, great idea that is one of the most overpriced, mediocre service place I’ve been to. Place Is a very small shack with counter service. 4 tacos, 4 margaritas and chips were $ 90 something dollars. That is correct. A meal that should have been at most maybe $ 50 was almost $ 100. What drives me most crazy about this place is the mandatory 15% tip that is added for counter service. Shame on you Bud and Alley for gouging your customers.

The food was good but nothing to write home about… not sure why there was a 15% gratuity added mainly because you stand in line to order at the counter and you clear your table. Yes they bring the food to your table but that’s all they do. There isnt any wait staff checking on customers. I love to leave a good tip if there is someone to tip but in this case the 15% seemed overkill. Plus they have a TIPJAR at the register! ! You shouldn’t have a tip jar if you are automatically adding 15% gratuity.
