My wife and I are moving away from Santa Monica and Yogis Anonymous is one of the things we will miss most. We have been going to Yogis for almost a year now and most often attend Josh’s Tuesday/Thursday basic class. The basic class is perfect for those still needing to refine some of the poses but still want a solid workout and Josh is an amazing instructor with great anecdotes. We’ve also attended some of Ally’s all levels classes. These are definitely more intense but she does a great job of making it approachable for everyone, including those new to yoga. We done some classes with other instructors and they’ve been great as well. Definitely check out Yogis Anonymous, you will not be disappointed.

This is my favorite studio in Santa Monica so far! All the teachers are really nice, and Ally really cares for her students. They encourage you to take care of your body at all times, and remember when you have injuries, give you advice. Makes you feel cared for! Haha. Also, the price is fair. Most studios in this area get ridiculous with their prices. And with your studio membership you get free online vids as well. My favorite thing is Thursday nights, you get to do class with a live electric violinist playing!!! I’ve been here for a little over a year and hope to continue learning from them.

I love yogis anonymous! Amazing teachers, great for all levels, comfortable & welcoming atmosphere. It feels like home to me! I frequently attended Josh Nelson’s class and learned so much about proper alignment & how to connect to my breath. So thankful for the experience. Thank you Yogis :-)

This place is amazing, warm and welcoming! I love the classes and ALL of the instructors. Yesterday I had a rare opportunity to work one-on-one with Beth L., who has been one of the top instructors that I’ve had. I often attend the strong class, which I do not belong, since I just start practicing yoga but Allie is always accommodating of my ability level. I can’t say enough positives about this studio!

I really like this yoga studio! I bought a Groupon and finished out all my classes with them happily. The only reason I don’t have a membership now is because I prefer hot yoga… however this is probably my favorite non-heated studio I’ve found in the city. Great teachers, and an airy open studio with lots of room. I felt challenged and stretched out after almost every class, and they leave a lot of room for your own personal modifications. My friend got an online membership with them, which gives you access to a LOT of FANTASTIC classes for really cheap, and we did several at home together. It’s the only online yoga I’ve ever actually enjoyed. Protip: the bathroom is connected directly to the room that you actually practice is, which is slightly awkward. Don’t put your mat on that side of the room because it’s extremely distracting if people are walking in and out right next to you during class.

Simple, clean, comfortable studio with great teachers. Ally is of course amazing. She’s encouraging and inspiring and technically savvy. She focuses on proper alignment in every pose. I highly recommend her classes. All the other teachers I’ve taken here are also good. Marybeth is incredible but I’m not sure she teaches here anymore. Papo is really good in the mornings. Very worth waking up for :)

I came to this yoga studio on Friday night after an exhausting week at work looking to relax and to meditate. The studio is a little hard to spot at first FYI so for your first time I’d suggest you giving yourself extra time to locate it. I thought the class itself was good with lots of materials for support and the instructor was super attentive in terms of making sure I was modifying for my tight lower back. The only thing I’d suggest would be that they lock the doors during class and maybe put a curtain up. During the meditation portion of the class some potential customers just walked in. Not the instructor or the studio’s fault of course but there should be a way where customers who visit the studio can get the info they need without disrupting the class. ;-) All in all. A positive experience and I’m glad I went.

The instructors have variety of yoga teaching style and they are extremely knowledgeable. I love them all. I bought a living social coupon and will definitely sign up for monthly membership. Plenty of parking space at public parking lot structure nearby: free first 90 mins and $ 1 dollar each additional hour, but most classes are 90 mins session and its’ just short walk to the studio. I love the energy of the studio. The studio is spacious, clean with high ceiling. NAMASTE

Currently I’m living in Northern CA. I’ve been to a few studios up here, and it’s not the same. No, not because you, my sweet Yogis Anon took my donation studio virginity; rather the varied teaching styles, serene studio, engaging practice and all the different class times to choose from. I miss you.

Ally Hamilton is an amazing instructor and person. I started taking her class way long before she event started her own studio(back when she taught at power yoga and her classes were always filled so that you had literally 1 inch space between you on all four sides). She is life changing in the best way. Studio is beautiful, light, airy, clean. Parking is accessible at the public parking lot structures. My only complaint is that I wish it was closer to where I live! Its not easy for me to make the drive out to Santa Monica but she does offer the online classes which I have done. You will not regret a visit to this studio. Worth every effort. Ally’s method and philosophy will inspire you. ~Om Mane Padme Hum~

I came in from Cleveland for a conference with my boss and we wanted to catch a local class. The studio is spacious and a very welcoming space and I am so impressed that they stream some of their classes online. You barely even know there are cameras in the room! They are well hidden and non-intrusive. I LOVED the class — Kate’s Sunday morning class. It was inspiring and the sequence innovative and gave me some great ideas to bring to Cleveland and use in my own classes! The reason for only giving 4 stars was experience when we first arrived in the studio. Whoever was checking the class in(I think it was one of the owners?) was on his computer and didn’t even look up when we first walked in. He wasn’t very engaging or particularly welcoming for the fact that two brand-new-to-the-studio clients. As someone who works at a yoga studio, I would really hope that the people welcoming clients into the studio would do everything they could to make us feel welcome and show us the ropes. I’m going to chalk it up to being kinda early on a Sunday morning. Other than that, I’d highly recommend this studio to anyone traveling to or living in Santa Monica. It’s lovely and if Kate is any indication, the teachers are talented and well worth taking classes with!

I found Yogis Anonymous through a one-month unlimited yoga Groupon deal months back and I loved it here! I went mostly to Ally’s classes(strong and moderate), but also tried Derek and Charlie’s classes. Ally’s classes are AMAZING. There’s a great flow to her classes that leads up to challenging poses. She also dedicates part of each class to core strengthening, and those exercises will really make your core burn. Derek’s classes are also pretty challenging while Charlie’s classes are a little less intense. All the teachers provide great adjustments. The only thing I don’t like(and it’s not the studio’s fault!) is that since it’s in downtown Santa Monica, you have to pay for parking after 90 minutes and almost every class is 90 minutes long. If you go to yoga almost everyday like I do, that adds up quite a bit each month. Pricing for the studio is really reasonable though: $ 99 for unlimited yoga monthly if you auto-pay. That’s cheaper than studios like Yogaworks and Corepower and the classes aren’t nearly as packed! Overall, I would definitely recommend this studio if you want to deepen your practice :)

Thanks to a Groupon deal, I discovered Yogis Anonymous a couple of months ago. This is the first time I’ve ever really taken any yoga classes and YA has been a fantastic place to learn. I’ve taken the Sunday restorative class once and the Saturday beginners class multiple times. Both classes are wonderful and the instructors are patient, helpful, and friendly. Specifically, Beth Prandini, who teaches the Saturday beginners class, is awesome! Also, the studio itself is clean and has adequate space for everyone to spread out. In regards to using Groupon, redeeming the purchase was a piece of cake(my deal was $ 39 for 10 classes). After registering online, someone contacted me within 24 hours to confirm the registration and provided clear instructions on how to sign up for the studio classes. I believe you can also just drop by for classes without pre-registering online. For anyone who’s thinking of taking up yoga or is looking for another studio, Yogis Anonymous is worth checking out. I’ve enjoyed the classes so much that I’ve already purchased additional classes to attend after my Groupon expires.

Used a groupon deal for this place and loved it! All the classes were great, the studio was clean/inviting, and the teachers were awesome. I always got a great workout and everyone was really friendly. I especially loved that a lot of the classes worked in a «free time» during class to practice inversions or arm balances on your own. Josie(eep! I think that’s her name) was very helpful in getting me upside down!

Great classes and great instructors. Your practice can easily and quickly deepen here as each«strong» class includes inversions. The instructors are always willing to help you deepen a pose or perfect your form. I’ve never felt intimidated, even though most of the students here are regular yogis. The only thing I wish Yogis Anonymous had more of is the meditation aspect of yoga. Classes feel a bit rushed at the end.

I tried about 4 studios around Santa Monica(YA being the first) using various groupons and finally decided the deals weren’t worth the gamble of whether I’d like the studios or not — it was just hard to compare after going to YA first! I’ve been a YA member for about a year now and cannot say enough good things about it :) First of all, I do have to say I find Yogis Anonymous to be expensive… but there’s a reason I decided to splurge instead of take the cheaper studio a few blocks away. It is actually that much better! Also I love that the classes are 90 minutes :) I’m 24 and have had bad pain and problems for YEARS, my spine is slightly twisted and I use to not be able to sleep-in without having pain, or go to concerts and stand for a few hours or even sit comfortably at work because of my back. YA has totally changed that for me. I realize some of this is due to simply the practice of yoga — and that in itself is awesome! But I still give YA specific credit for creating an exciting practice that makes me want to come to class so often. Its very much an environment that is welcoming, challenging and puts an emphasis on doing poses correctly so that you don’t get injured! Like I said, I tried several other studios and there actually was a huge difference for me, specifically in getting results for my back. Charlie is my favorite instructor — his classes are always different and I can count on them to be challenging but also know I’ll leave feeling relaxed and completely blissful each and every time :) He also gives excellent adjustments — which with a crooked back I definitely appreciate. I’ve also newly discovered Kristina’s morning cardio flow! AMAZING combination of a flow, stretching and definitely a good workout — so nice to have a class that I can actually go to before work in the morning! More people should definitely try this one out if you haven’t! I love Ally’s class as well but she gets so many kudos I’m sure y’all know she’s awesome by now :)

I am updating my review and giving four stars because one of the owners of the studio, Dorian, reached out to me via email to let me know he saw my review and apologize for the way the situation was handled. I really appreciate that he took the time to write, explain the situation, and also indicate that they would try and implement better systems for handling that type of thing in the future. I understand that mistakes can be made; really great customer service is to try and fix the mistake or at least admit what happened and ensure it doesn’t occur again. Dorian did both. Based on his response(which was also very quick), I would definitely try Yogis Anonymous again in the future. This review is for the online subscription to Yogis Anonymous. I paid $ 15 per month for about four months to access their online videos. The service and the videos weren’t the issue as I enjoyed the videos, and I used several by Ally Hamilton. There is also a wide variety available at varying lengths, skill levels, etc. The problem came when I decided that I didn’t use it enough to justify paying the $ 15 per month. I cancelled the subscription in December via an online tool and remember seeing a notice on the screen that basically asked«are you sure you want to do this» or something to that effect. I thought I had cancelled. Nowhere was I instructed that I needed to email a confirmation of my cancellation. During a check of my credit card billing the other day, I noticed that Yogis Anonymous had billed me for the month of January. I contacted them via email and explained what had occurred and was extremely turned off by the response I received. She agreed to cancel my subscription but stated that since she couldn’t find any record of my cancellation, she couldn’t refund the $ 15 already charged to my card for the month of January because, per their user agreement, you have to cancel before the end of the month. I know this but it is also bs that she couldn’t refund the money. Since it’s only $ 15 bucks I’m letting this go as a lesson learned(and told her as much) but I will definitely never use their service again(I might have returned in the future if not for this) and will not recommend it to anyone. She never replied to that email. Awesome customer service.

I have heard a lot of great things about this studio, so I was happy to find a great groupon deal to try it out. It’s a large and clean space, with excellent staff and instructors. Other than the Sunday restoration class, which gets extremely packed, the classes are not too crowded. Among the handful of instructors I tried, my favorites are Kourtney(who also instructs at Yoga Hop) and Ally. They usually give you about 10 minutes to practice handstands and more difficult poses, if you’re into that type of practice. However, a few of the other instructors, though nice, were a little too granola for me. The parking structure next door on 2nd street is free for the first 90 minutes, which means you will probably end up paying $ 1 to attend a full class.

Came here earlier this year with a groupon deal. This is probably one of my favorite yoga studios on the westside so far(and believe me, I’ve tried many)! :The studio: The staff was really friendly, and you could just drop in at any of the classes. The studio is located right next to one of the two hours free parking structure, so parking has been fairly easy. The deal I had also came with online subscriptions. I was really skeptical at first but after trying out a couple times, it was actually really nice and convenient. A good way to still work out when you can’t make it to the studio physically. :Instructor: Try Ally’s class!
