We order delivery from here all the time. We love the spicy yellowtail roll, spicy tuna roll, orange chicken, and the double kung pao(with chicken and shrimp). The double kung pao is a must try, and the medium level spicyness is perfect!

When we want blasphemy(Americanized Chinese food), this is where we go. The Emperor’s beef is tasty(just make sure it’s not overcooked). The orange chicken… well, I could pass on that one. The crazy fried rice is amazing(we always get 2 orders). The chicken lo mein is pretty tasty too. The other beef dishes are hit or miss, depending on your flavor profile. The prices are really good for their vegetable sides. The eggplant is my favorite of the bunch. The string beans are a little too saucy and overcooked. Not sure about their sushi since we get our sushi fix from other places. But they have this party room upstairs, with an outdoor area… Awesome for any event you may need a venue for.

Food was good service was horrible !! Super bougie atmosphere, when we walked we could feel the unwelcoming vibes !! They sat us in a table ducked off to the side I think our waiter Jennifer came to check on us once the whole time we were there. Not once did they ask if we wanted a refill, needed any napkins, if the food was okay. After like the 5th attempt of trying to flag our Waiter down we saw what appeared to be the manager so we called her over and all She did was say«let me grab your server» then there we sat again waiting !! I think the bus boy was more helpful than our actual waiter. Another server NOT our waiter Jennifer came to box our food up and bring the check. It was a calm night not busy so I didn’t understand what the issue was… Never coming to this location again !! I guess you have to be bougie like them to get tended too !! Thumbs down !!

Slow and overpriced. Poor music and they just want your money. They never clear your table. Average at best. Sake choices are a money trap. Scary how they do not care. Location is all they have. If they wee in ghetto, people would laugh them out.

We frequent Wokano, and tonights meal was the worst. Bland fried salmon rice, disappointing lobster dish and sub-par lomein noodles. The best part of the meal was the wonton soup. Sadly, will have to stop these visits to Wokano. What happened to those chocolate covered fortune cookies? We used to get them at the West Hollywood Wokano that is now shut for business. Attending to my sick nephew who did not take well to the meal :-(

We came for a birthday dinner tonight and we’re pretty disappointed. Ambience: 4⁄5. Nothing special but nothing to complain about. Cocktails: 3⁄5. Unique menu but the drinks were very weak and I’m a lightweight so… definitely room for improvement there. Food: 1⁄5. Two of the five entrees came out cold. We returned them and they kindly brought hot ones. The fried rice and a sushi roll we ordered came out after we reminded the waitress a second time and while we were ready for the check. Overall, it was twice as expensive and half as good as some Chinese food takeout I’ve had. For a party of six, the level of disorganization going on was embarrassing.

I recently came here for an event and we had the whole outdoor patio area reserved. The vibe totally felt like a true LA locale. The strung lights, the heaters, being able to eat outdoors under the night sky. The place was pretty decked out IMO. I usually don’t go to fusion Asian American restaurants but i was pleasantly surprise at how the good wasn’t as bad as I had expected. We started with a salad with a honey mustard-y type dressing. It was pretty average. It was a catering menu which makes me expect things to be a little sub-par. Some of the veges looked almost like it was time to trash but it was only a few sprigs and I just picked them out. Next we had lettuce wraps. The filling to lettuce ratio was pretty bad but expected. Pretty mediocre in taste but nothing too horrible. Next we had rice crackers with spicy tuna. Interesting combo but still very tasty. The spicy tuna tasted fresh and even though the rice cracker was a bit odd, it was unique and actually was a good vehicle to shovel the tuna into your mouth. As for the main course, I got the black pepper beef with brown rice. Unfortunately, my brown rice became white rice when the server handed me my bowl of rice but the beef itself was super tender. The sauce was almost soup-y because there was so much but the portion of onions and beef was actually pretty satisfying. The sauce was a bit on the sweet side but not overwhelming. Finally, dessert. Chef’s choice and we had a plate full of desserts. They were a good finishing touch to the meal. Again it wasn’t anything amazingly WOW but also can’t fault them for them as well. Service was so-so. It was a huge event so I have to still give them props. They tried their best to be attentive at all times. They even tried to fix the heater near us. They tried their best to be there for us when we needed them and even though they needed us to ask for some things, they always brought it out. I think that really makes this place is the outdoor patio area. it is the quintessential socal vibe that you expect when being in SaMo. I am not usually in the area and it’s hard to compete with all of the other restaurants in SaMo but it is definitely a place to sit back and just chill and hang.

Have you ever heard someone say if you don’t have any expectations, you won’t get disappointed? Well, they were right. For once I let my friend decide on where to eat and Wokano it was. As always, I looked at the menu on Unilocal beforehand and I wasn’t too impressed but still decided to keep an open mind. Ordered the 15 piece assorted sashimi(included is a spicy tuna roll) and the cuts of the sashimi were like steaks! I almost laughed when it came out. I’ve never seen sashimi cut so thick before. The quality was a-ok and the ginger looked really old and just sort of sad. There’s also a salad that comes with it but there was way too much wanton crisps and dressing. The dressing itself was WARM and had a sticky consistency so I did not enjoy this whatsoever. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Oh man, it’s been a week since we ate here and I am still dehydrated from all the sodium in their food. Has anyone told the chef that when you use soy sauce, you don’t also add salt? I mean damn, how salty can you make food? Well that is the least of their problems. Service is non-existent. The bussers who were around to take dirty plates were the only people around to give any service. We were practically ordering and(returning) food through them. We only got waited on strictly because we would ask bussers to bring a waiter to us. Not once did a waiter come to our table voluntarily. This was probably one of my top 5 worst service experiences of my life and it wasn’t only our waiter, it was everyone else around us. I know this because my head was turning constantly looking for a waiter. The orange chicken, it was like a mixture of rubber and chewing gum. It was inedible and has to be sent back. The shrimp dish was cold cold cold. I almost feel like it was made and cancelled and just sat there until someone ordered it. That’s how cold it was. The Mongolian Beef should be renamed«Salt Beef.» The pad Thai was flavorless, no color. The garlic noodles were SALT noodles. The orange tofu though, that’s the only reason they get 1 star instead of zero(which I couldn’t give if I wanted to). It was good. This dinner was like from a bad dream where I was thrown in the sea where all there was around me was salt and no one to save me. Actually bad analogy because the sea has water and this place didn’t even care to put water in my cup.

Let me start off by saying I have been coming here for years. I used to love this place because they are open late and at night often have a dj and music playing. However my experience last night with both the food and customer service is what shall make me chose another restaurant over this one. I made a reservation for 10:15pm through Opentable because I believed they close at 11pm. Within moments I got a call from the host saying the kitchen closes at 10:30pm and we would have to order as soon as we got there. This wasn’t an issue since we’re regulars however if it was our first time how would someone know what to order right away? They should definitely change the last reservation to be at 10pm if they close the kitchen at 10:30pm to provide adequate time to look over the menu and decide. I ordered the chicken lettuce cups, crunchy shrimp, and salmon sushi. I can’t remember what my boyfriend ordered specifically but it was an entrée. His food seemed to be alright however mine was awful. The chicken lettuce cups came out first. There were only 2 pieces of lettuce and a tiny amount of chicken. The portion size was ridiculous for their $ 11 price! I knew that this is never how little it usually is so I got the attention of the guy who brought it out. He said he’ll be right back and brought me ONE more piece of lettuce. I mean come on, how expensive does lettuce really cost? So now I had 3 pieces of lettuce and a tiny amount of chicken. There was a man that came to check up on us, who seemed like a manager or someone higher up. I explained to him the issue and that we come often ordering the same thing and I know how big it is supposed to be. His only response was«Our menu changed this month and this is the size of the order.» Then he walked away. That made no sense to me. If your menu has changed and your portions are now smaller, shouldn’t the price be significantly less? My crunchy roll came out next. It was good except for the two end pieces. The ends had no shrimp in them but instead had the end tails. Those should have been taken off or at least not put into the roll because the last thing you want when you bite into sushi is to eat the shell of a shrimp. The last thing I ordered was four pieces salmon sushi. I thought, theres no way they could screw this up. However again I was wrong. The fish tastes so rubbery and non-fresh that I couldn’t even eat what I ordered. I had one piece and told my boyfriend to try one to where we both concluded this was the worst sushi we have EVER eaten. We left the remaining two pieces for them to throw out. Overall a terrible experience and I shall definitely go somewhere else before ever returning here. I understand it is the end of the night but portion-control, quality, and customer service should still be intact through the entire time.

Spacious dinner /dancing /lounge after 11pm. Asian fusion the likes of PF Changs, mediocre service, DJ that plays a premix playlist from his MacBook Dumpling, salad, pad Thai, stir fried chicken, etch. Nothing out of this world. But had a good time with 10 friends. Not too busy for Santa Monica location on SAG night.

I love this place! I’ve came here a few times yet For some reason I never reviewed it. When I came here last night it was happy hour and we ordered a lot of things from the happy hour menu & everything was absolutely delicious. We had the, crispy calamari(the sauce was delicious but too much breading), walnut shrimp(very good with a sweet touch), hamachi(delicious), pot stickers(pan fried), crispy rice tuna(very tasteful), spicy tuna roll, spicy garlic edamame, and the oysters(which were absolutely delightful and just how you would want your oysters to taste like).

Do not risk your health here! I ate spicy tuna roll and spicy tuna on crispy rice and got a severe case of Scombroid poisoning. I immediately left the restaurant and went straight to the emergency room where I was treated and had to follow up with many doctors appointments. Scombroid poisoning only comes from decayed fish. The restaurant claims I was allergic. I eat Tuna all the time! Look at my photos and look at scombroid poisoning. You cannot mistake what they did to me. I took them to small claims court which is next to impossible to prove a food poisoning case unless you keep the food and have it tested. Most people eat their food not save it in baggies for the off chance they need to test it for ROTTEN, DISGUSTINGFISHPOISONING. People have died from this type of food poisoning. DONOTRISKYOURLIFE! There is nothing served here that you can’t get at a good sushi restaurant for the same price. They do not care what they do to people here and they are not paying attention to what they are serving ie. decayed fish! This cheap $ 10 sushi ended up costing me over $ 3,000 in hospital bills. Message me and I’ll send you some reccs for places that care about their patrons and their food.

Spicy tuna on crispy rice Or SPICYTUNAONCRISPYBRICK. Be careful, you may fracture your tooth or your filling while you are biting or chewing the crispy rice, it is very hard. The rest of rolls didn’t taste as good as they looked.

Let’s start off by saying if you want legit sushi, this isn’t the spot to go. But, if you want a good ambiance, decent food, good service and good drinks, this is a safe bet. I love this location because it has outdoor seating with great views and it’s walking distance to 3rd Street so after you eat, you can go for a nice walk(and sober up a bit if you had one too many). The good is decent. Their fish isn’t what I go to a sushi restaurant to experience but it’s not bad. Their other items such have as Mongolian beef and the white fish with asparagus are good. Also their crab handroll is amazing but it probably has something to do with all the Mayo they put in it and then heat it which makes it melt in your mouth. It’s very good but don’t let it deceive you, it’s not healthy. I enjoy their happy hour menu when I go because you can order a bunch of different things and make your own sushi type tapas ;-) Nice place for a night out. Great location. Don’t expect to get your mind blown with the food

Happy Hour rocks! If you want to eat asian food for Happy Hour, come here to Wokano! They have a great Happy Hour menu. Well drinks are reasonable too, as well as beer and house wine. But I am here to review the food. The Happy Hour area is upstairs, bar area, outside in the patio and sometimes in the booths, depending on the manager and the crowds. The spicy edamame is what I recommend to start with, and then the Japanese shishito peppers, and the walnut shrimp! With these three, I am content! But wait! There’s more! The sushi rolls and the vegetable tempura is always consistently tasty.

Fenty and I went to Wokcano for happy hour. It was Sunday evening and the bar area was pretty packed. We managed to get the last table for two and immediately ordered drinks like it was our job. My gin and tonic was on the weaker side, but the house red was quite good. We ordered a bunch of appetizers off of the happy hour menu, and they were mostly«meh,» especially greasy, and not worth the calories. We saw some delicious looking dishes from the dinner menu, so maybe that would’ve been a better way to go about it. Service was okay. They were very busy and we had a hard time trying to get anyone’s attention whenever we needed anything, but food came out relatively fast. They were apologetic and said that they were very understaffed that day, so maybe this was not the norm. Trendy atmosphere, good for groups, but if you’re a foodie, you’ll likely be disappointed.
