… dial in for pickup … First two calls: no answer Third call, 10 minutes later: Her: «Thank you for calling Veggie Grill can you please hold.» Me: «No, I’d really like to order. I don’t want to wait now that I’ve finally gotten through, I’ve been trying to place an order for 15 minutes. It’s just one sandwich, really quick.» Her: «K.» Me: «Yea, so I’d like to order a …» Her: «Just give me like five minutes.» CLICK … and just like that, I’m off to the land of horrible hold music. Five minutes? No. I waited about three and a half before irritation really set in when I hung up and called in some local Thai instead. This location has a solid, friendly crew when I dine in or am lucky enough to get in an order so my only guess is management doesn’t adequately staff the front of house during peak times. Over the last month I’ve failed at ordering to go 4 times: First three attempts I was put on hold so long I finally gave up and now yesterday they were barely able to answer the phone which just resulted in a hold for«like five minutes» anyway. Sure, if you call in an order at off-hours you’ll be fine but I don’t think we should pay the price on service just because we dare try to call in orders at 6pm for dinner. Veggie Grill is fast food. Vegan fast food, but fast food nonetheless and literally the most key attribute of fast food is convenience. This location has become anything but convenient and I guess I’m kind of over it. Veggie Grill just refreshed their smartphone app which looks great except the fact they didn’t update the order functionality so it’s this clunky, old style menu web view that launches inside of the app which isn’t even close to user friendly. This is why I still phone in orders. Plus if I’m driving I want to be able keep my eyes on the road and call in, I have«Veggie Grill — Wilshire Blvd» in my contacts for a reason and that’s because I come here all the damn time. I should really say I «used to» have them in my phone and«used to» come here all the damn time, that would be more accurate. If I want vegan fast food I guess it’s just going to have to be elsewhere.

Veggie Grill is my most favorite vegan establishment of its kind! The food is always so freaking delicious that I dream about it! My most favorite are the following: Buffalo Wings Black Beans+ Quinoa Mini-Bowl Sonoran Bowl Quinoa Power Salad Santa Fe Crispy Chickin’ wrap VG-Cheeseburger, El Dorado style Buffalo Bomber Grillin’ Chickin’ wrap and last but so not least the Green Beans Stack! I’ve eaten here two days in a row now. I can’t get over it. Eat here. Eat well. Trust me. P. S. Download their app and get rewards! Today they took $ 9 off my total!

Very disappointed in this place. I ordered the Sonoran bowl. It was basically flavorless and very small — left this place starving and unsatisfied. However the interior is nice, the people were friendly, and the service was somewhat fast. They offer birthday specials… Sign up online and get a buy one get one free coupon!

Their Hail Kale Salad is filling and simply delicious! I love their red cabbage slaw– tastes almost like sauerkraut, and their ginger papaya vinaigrette is the perfect way to satisfy your sugar craving in a healthy way. This is such a good place when you don’t want to cook dinner but still want to eat healthy.

Always clean, always delicious, and the customer service is short and sweet! I love coming to this veggie grill and enjoy the outdoor patio. I have stopped to enjoy lunch with my pups and my wife and people are always so kind to us. A very nice establishment :)

This place will turn carnivores into herbivores!!! Usually when I enter a vegan restaurant I ponder how terrible will my food taste or does this restaurant have enough condiments to turn what would taste like plastic into something relatively descent. However, my impression of vegan/vegetarian restaurants changed when I decided to eat at the veggie grill. The first time I entered I decided to get the burger based off a recommendation of a friend. Upon the burger entering my mouth, my taste buds began to explode, my mind was expecting just the taste of upgraded plastic, but instead it received a delicious burger which I would say in my opinion tasted better than most meat burgers I’ve ever had in my life, and from that moment on I have been coming to the veggie grill. Now why the 4 stars you may say? The reason is because of the crappy Lentil Soup they recommended it made the taste of the rest of my meal go from what I would give 7 stars or in Unilocal terms 5 stars to a 4 star level. If you learned anything from my review: Go for the kale(bean) whatever soup over the lentil soup! Yes it is THAT Much better.

Slow service, wrong order, and terrible management. No one should wait over an hour for food. Avoid at all costs.

One more vegan place added to my list ! Healthy + tasty food. Tried their Bombay bowl — liked the curry sauce on top and the almonds that crunch in between with the kale and other veggies; good sufficient quantity of bowl ! Their complementary ginger hibiscus lemonade was good too ! I am gonna keep going and explore their rest of the menu !!

Vegilicious, fast-casual culinary excellence! So good, your carnivorous friends won’t even realize it’s vegan! I come here all the time, but today for lunch I decided to order the Bombay Bowl. This dish consisted of a bed of soft kale(cooked just enough, but not too mushy), covered with protein-packed quinoa and an assortment of steamed squash and colorful veggies. I ordered the green coconut curry sauce on the side, so that it didn’t make my food too soggy en route from picking it up and taking it back to work. The sauce was rich and creamy, with a hint of spiciness. Overall, the dish was excellent — and entirely gluten free. When it comes to fast-casual vegan restaurants, Veggie Grill’s only real competitor is Native Foods. Personally, I prefer Veggie Grill better. Their menu is more exciting; they offer more gluten free options; and Veggie Grill’s food tastes better, is cooked better and is better seasoned. Unlike Native Foods, Veggie Grill also posts the nutrition facts and calories for all of their menu items online. You may notice that some of their food is fairly high in calories and fat, but they’ve got a great«mindful living» menu online with healthier options. Healthy or not, all of their food is delicious. Ordering is quick and simple, and they even deliver to nearby locations. You can place your order on their website, app or via phone — the old fashioned way! They’re usually pretty quick too! I placed my order today at 11:15, and by the time I drove over there, it was ready to go at 11:30. If you choose to dine in, the line gets a little long during lunchtime, but there’s ample indoor and outdoor seating. If you think vegan food is weird or gross, I dare you to come try Veggie Grill! It might definitely change your mind. Try out their Mac and Cheese. It will change your life.

What?! Only five stars? Sucks ’cause these guys deserve like seven. Perla and her team really took care of me for the second time in a row. Even with the mistakes I had a superb experience. Thanks Veggie Grill!

I’ve hit a few Veggie Grills over the last year. Tonight, I stopped at the Santa Monica location. I ordered the Seoul Bowl with steak.(Note: if this review happens to be your first exposure to this spot, the steak is really tvp or some other non-metal item. All veggies!) This bowl was fantastic! Possibly the most meat-like veggie product I’ve ever had, it came with good portions of meat, arrugala, onion, carrot, and wild grains. It’s sauce was spicy and sweet and went very well with every aspect of the dish. The service was also awesome. The young lady behind the counter was helpful and went out of her way to m ask e sure I had everything I needed. It was very nice that she assumed that I would be ordering water. She never stopped smiling, and added to the overall meal experience. I’m gonna go full Schwarzenegger here: I’ll be back.

Stopped by on a afternoon – first timer here but I’ve heard many good things. Cashier guy very friendly and engaging in ordering process by asking what I liked and then giving suggestions! Per his suggestion, I got buffalo wings over salad and it was so good – the boneless wings were literally placed over the salad. The iced tea(there were about 3 kinds, self-serve type) were all so refreshing and not too sweet(THANKYOU for not making it too sweet cuz I hate overly sweet drinks!). Parking is typical SM parking, the dreaded street. Find one(metered) and you’re golden. Prices are a bit higher due to their vegetarian and vegan options, but quality of food is quite impressive for a fast food type joint. Ingredients in my salad were seemingly fresh. What really made the place stand out for me was how friendly and personable all the staff were!

Wow they need to open up this place in Houston asap! Their fake chicken is quite impressive. I got the bad boy burger that was being advertised on a poster, but wasn’t on the menu. It looked like it had fake beef, but the burger tasted like a typical veggie burger so it was a little bit of a let down. Although I can’t say I like everything on the menu, I was definitely impressed! Also the guy behind the counter was very helpful! He asked if it was our first time here and we said yes so he advised us on how to make our meal cheaper(downloading the app and they had a giftcard deal going on) which is awesome! Usually places are trying to increase your bill not decrease it!

We came here using my Birthday coupon: get a free meal free when you buy one meal. My friend has the Veggie Grill App, but she didn’t have the current NEW app, and the cashire was not able use the old app, so we stepped aside to download the New Veggie Grill App, and it took around 5 minutes. We tried to use the new App when we paid, but the machine was not working… grrrrrrrrrrr… We both ordered the Harvest Bowl $ 11.50 Field Roast sausage, herb-roasted veggies, supergrains, steamed kale, porcini mushroom + miso gravy, hemp seeds and we both ordered ice tea. But… we got the Bombay Bowl $ 9.65 Herb-roasted veggies, supergrains, steamed kale, cannellini beans, cilantro/green curry sauce with coconut milk, almonds, hemp seeds We started eating, but noticed there weren’t any sausage and the sauce tasted more like a curry, so we inquired, and they gave us the wrong«bowl». We were disappointed, but decided to go ahead with eating the Bombay bowl because it was tasty, and I have had this before and enjoyed it. Then the ice tea mix up! My friend wanted the pomegranate, but it tasted like Ginger, which she dislikes, so she tried the Ginger tea and it was pomegranate! We told the cashier about the incorrect labeling, but she didn’t seem to know what to do… Finally the manager, Ben came over to our table to see how we were doing. Thank goodness for Ben, he offered to replace our Bombay Bowls with the correct items, but we told him we were okay in eating what we already started, and he was going to follow up on the incorrect labeling on the ice teas. He later brought over a free carrot cake for us, due to our mix ups. YIPPEEE! I love their carrot cake! Overall, I enjoy the Veggie Grill, but today there seemed to be a misunderstanding in the kitchen and ice tea. These are easy fixes and I hope Ben follows through to make sure the customers get the correct orders and the ice tea is labeled correctly.

Veggie Grill is the McDonald’s for vegans and vegetarians of the world. It’s fast food with a twist and it’s probably the most accessible vegan cuisine for those that aren’t used to plant based eating. Most Veggie Grills are set up in pretty similar styles. Counter service and seat yourself service. This location is a little more spruced up for the sheer fact that it’s in a high end location. Offering vegan adult beverages as part of their menu. Like most Veggie Grills, this menu is pretty dependable. Crowd favorites are the Santa Fe Crispy Chicken Sandwich and the Buffalo Bomber. I would recommend giving it a twist and getting it as a wrap instead of a sandwich. Much neater presentation and less carbs. The crispy cauliflower is sweet with a hint of spice and for those lactose intolerant, the Mac n’Cheese is a delight. They are currently in their winter menu which means favorites like the Sonoran Winter Bowl are back on the menu. I think for most people that aren’t aware of the Veggie Grill, if you don’t tell them there isn’t any animal products on the menu, they probably wouldn’t know. Like I said, this is a great introduction to vegan cuisine for those interested.

Vegan food usually isn’t ‘my type of thing but I truly liked what I got, the Bombay bowl. I left feeling full but and not weighed down like with other types of food. It was a nice mixture of veggies, beans, almonds, seeds etc in a curry sauce. I think the prices could be a little cheaper for the ingredients given but its LA. Parking in the back is free; no need to look for street parking.

How did I not know about this place? And I just realized there’s one by my place but I never really cared to ever come here and try their food. Well, glad I got to try some of their good stuff. I happened to order the grillin’ chicken that comes in wheat bread, grilled chicken, avocado, red onions and a side of cole slaw. I swear it sounds like a super simple and plain sandwich but it really wasn’t. I can’t wait to try out some more of their food options.

This was not the closest location to my home, but it was close to work. I came here a couple of times to meet a friend for lunch. Good vegan fast food. Tastes good and is great for when you feel like being a chubby vegan. This location has outside seating which is nice. It’s not my favourite of their locations though.

One of the best things about living in LA is the plethora of vegetarian and vegan restaurants.(It’s not hard out here for a vegetarian!) Veggie Grill, one of the city’s numerous vegan restaurants, is an establishment comparable to Native Foods: both serve vegan fare in a casual setting; neither have traditional waiter service; and both specialize in vegan re-interpretations of multicultural America. Although they serve similar items at comparable costs, there is, I think, a noticeable difference in the quality of food at Native Foods and Veggie Grill. I tend to prefer the former, as they usually flavor their soy protein /tofu /tempeh better than other restaurants. Nevertheless, the menu at Veggie Grill is pretty extensive, with a lengthy list of unique salads, decent sandwiches/wraps, and interesting bowls. I’ve stuck to sandwiches and/or wraps at Veggie Grill, but haven’t been totally satisfied with each dish. The Santa Fe Crispy Chickin sandwich had a nice, crunchy piece of faux meat, but it unfortunately tasted a little bland, almost like cardboard. Other than that, I thought the free side — delicious fries — and the rest of the burger were up to snuff. The Glazed Tofu Banh Mi Wrap had a lot of good flavor thanks to the pickled vegetables and glazed tofu, but unless you enjoy a handful of jalapeño, you should probably ask for them on the side. Service at this location can be hit or miss. Even when the number of guests was dwindling late into the evening, my friend and I once had to wait 15 – 20 minutes for our food — unheard of at fast casual restaurants. Parking is available in a lot behind the restaurant, but I find that it’s sometimes easier to park on the street. The lot is TINY, so if you’re driving a hefty, hulking car, then you’re better off just parking on the street. While I prefer Native Foods over Veggie Grill, the latter certainly has a wider selection of items on their menu, especially since the former has reduced their menu in the last few months.

I’m a VG fan in general, so customer service is typically the only difference between their locations. This location is only a couple of miles from the Santa Monica Pier. They have a free parking lot, and when I went on a Sunday, there were 2 hours of free street parking as well. I was on my way back to AZ, so I got my food to go. I ordered a few Mexi mini-wraps, a Buffalo mini-wrap, Buffalo Wings, and a BLT(but with no tomatoes). I used some of my «Love,» which is what they call their loyalty program, and got the BLT($ 9.95) for free! Everything was packaged well for the trip home. This location is one of their smaller ones, but it was very clean in both the dining room and the restroom.(They had eco-friendly Meyer’s hand soap in the rest rooms. I love Meyers!) They have a completely covered patio area which overlooks Wilshire Blvd, for your people-watching pleasure. The staff who I dealt with were not the friendliest, and the cashier seemed almost annoyed that I was using rewards for my entrée item. Whatever. I ate my Buffalo mini-wrap while I was on the road and it was ok; the tortilla was a little tough. If I’m in the area again, I’d be willing to give them another try.

Veggie Grill continues to impress, folks. They’ve changed their menu a bit, adding among other dishes, an awesome banh mi. I was skeptical when I ordered because it’s pricey(about $ 10) for a sandwich normally priced at $ 6 in Vietnamese places, but it is GOOD!!! Tons of veggies, tofu, eggplant… eggplant! It’s big, and worth the money spent. Among the many additions, my one complaint is that they eliminated the chocolate pudding. And I don’t know why… so sad.

BOGO Birthday deal. Wish they go back to their previous FREE any order for your birthday… guess times are tough! Anyways, I just got double order of my fav Hail Kale. The Birthday certificate fine prints says extra charge for side upgrade. But apparently there is also a charge for add-ons, such as the blackened chicken to the Hail Kale order. Hmm… how can add-ons be a side upgrade? No idea, and pointless to even try to ‘fix’ this as the register guy just kept saying, the computer does it automatically. Would have been nice if he offered to come the Bday order. So, I opted out of any ‘chicken’ add-ons as I can easily fix up some healthy(real) meat protein to top the salad. No biggie. Parking lot behind, wasn’t too crowded at the mid-afternoon time when I stopped by.
