Nice location in Santa Monica, friendly staff, tons of TV to watch the games, you can even sit outside and enjoy a nice breeze while doing so! The drinks are inexpensive, the food is not great but this is not really meant for foodies ;) It does the job, will be back for bbq wings and soccer games !

Stopped in for a quick beer on a hot Saturday afternoon and was very pleased. Great sports bar, especially for soccer matches, some guys even had their chant when their team scored. I think it was Irish. Cheers!

Food is average. Service is below average(manager at Brittania looks and acts as if he’s in bad mood constantly). More importantly, if you’re a hardcore soccer(football) fan like me, I do NOT recommend this bar, instead I recommend Barney’s or Ye Olde King’s Head(both just around the corner), reasons being both have: 1) More /bigger TV screens — so you can watch 2 games at same time if need be 2) Higher TV volume 3) More chairs to sit down 4) Bigger venue overall that accomodate more people 5) Wider selection on menu 6) Friendlier staff Barney’s in particular is more accomodating for non England game and atmosphere is better overall. Ye Olde King’s Head is perfect if you like to watch England games or Preimership. My two cents, good luck! Amir H.

A busy place for sure. But what struck me most was a Londoner who approached us as he had had an awful experience. He claimed he had had been denied service. He was quite shaken up. I did not doubt his him based upon his level of fear. Brexit’s vote of yesterday was a reminder of LEAVE! I promised myself to never patronize this place in honor of that man. He had $ 700 shoes on. I recognized the fashion! He also flew back to London. The real London! Hahahahahahaha!

Would have gave it zero stars if possible. Walked in yesterday with a party of 6 and some brunette in a red top(didn’t catch her name) comes up to us and says«we don’t have room for you right now» and turns away giving me her back. No explanation, no «I’ll see what I can do», I felt like lower class especially because she said it in front of other customers and even they had a shocked look on their face. Very rude, with no customer service skills Will never TRY and come back to this place.

Good if you wanna watch sports. Drinks were good. Nachos were terrible. Stale chips. How hard is it to have fresh chips. The chicken in the nachos were bad. Was afraid to order anything else.

I love Bloody Mary and I have tried a lot of them. I can tell that the Bloody Mary there it is pretty bad. Too much salt. The service is pretty bad too. I had to wait fifteen minutes for a Samuel Adam’s beer, and when I asked the waitress where my beer was, she kind of shrugged me off rudely and said it would be right out.

OK. So it’s a British pub full of big screen tv’s which you don’t get in England. Not quote an authentic feel but OK if that’s what you’re looking for. The British food was pretty good. Shepherd’s Pie, Sausage Rolls were great and cooked well. The curry dishes were terrible. Literally tasted like Uncle Ben’s rice for those Brits out there who know what that is. Very poor examples of curry. Avoid them if you’re eating here. Also, bringing the aopetizer after the entrée’s have started arriving probably isn’t helpful for most folks. On a positive note, the staff were friendly and helpful, just a shame this is an average place to eat at best.

this is my regular place to meet a couple friends after work nearby. it’s been there for eons in santa monica years, and has always been low key and homey. some nights they have trivia, karaōke and other events, but i’m usually just there for a game on tv during happy hour. the staff has always been great, the drinks are well made, well priced, and it’s in a great location. not much more to say — it’s great. it’s unlike most businesses in the area, so don’t expect something gimmicky or precious — it’s much better.

Kareoke lady came right up to us and told us to move from our table as well as another couple. Have some courtesy to at least wait till people finish their drinks we are paying customers! When you walk up and tell them to move have some tact and courtesy to find a new spot for the rather than do nothing! I will never return to this bar EVER again, nor do I suggest you return until that lady can get some manners or they hire another Karaōke person with manners! We left and the other couple left immediately after the rude woman I charge of karaōke asked us to get up to take our table! Have some manners!

Staying in Santa Monica for a week. Have visited this bar two of the 3 days we have been here. It’s our ‘night-cap’ bar. Bartender recognizes and acknowledges us when we come in. Small town feel in a big city! Go if you’re in the area and want a cold beer with a friendly atmosphere!

Average run of the mill pub — came by with a friend as I was visiting from Philly. Good to see that they support the Philadelphia sports teams! Tried to get a Pacifico and they didn’t have that available for whatever reason. Ordered some buffalo wings and they were okay. The sauce was okay and the wings were small. I wouldn’t order it again.

I have to really compliment this business as throughout the years, this place delivers the best English/Irish«Captain’s» Breakfast of all the places that serve this traditional treat! The service is always friendly and the food is always consistently delicious! Every time I’m hungover or have a day off from work, I find myself choosing Britannia Pub as my «go-to» whenever I’m in doubt of what I am craving. The prices are very reasonable and their French fries are also really nice with the potato skins on! There is also a happy hour which I have yet to try, but the selections look really great! Furthermore, there is an awesome cell-phone charging station by the restrooms(always very clean) located at the rear of the dining area. Overall, great staff, great patio, great food, and great atmosphere! I only wish my stomach was bigger so I could eat more! Hahaha!

It’s a grungy, pubby-type atmosphere. Menu didn’t look particularly interesting or good. But it’s a decent spot to grab some drinks. Not a bad Moscow Mule, though it was a tad sweet. I don’t think they listed the prices on their drink/cocktail menu for some reason — which I thought was really strange. We happened to come in during karaōke night, and as soon as it started, we made our way the heck out of there. Too loud and obnoxious, though I suppose that’s the fault of the«singers» and the announcer/MC who suggested that we take our tops off and make out with someone. Not tonight, lady, but thanks for the suggestion.

I haven’t been here in a really long time! This pub is just as I remember it. It’s a sports bar and they had Karaōke Saturday night(I went yesterday). Although I didn’t enjoy everyone’s song selection, which isn’t the pub’s fault, it was still fun. I tried the drinks my friends had, Guinness and a shot of Jameson and also a Jameson & Ginger. I haven’t done happy hour at this spot in a long time, but a night of drinking is pretty nice here. It’s a pretty happening place, again, just as I remember it.

I love this place — especially Beatles Sunday. Rich is one of the best bartenders and a super nice guy. Their happy hour is great and the food is very decent. Fish and chips for $ 5 yummy!!’ Clam chowder is great. However, We tried the karaōke for the first time tonight. We Karaōke a lot and all around town. I can’t tell you how disappointed we were to go to our favorite local pub and find that the karaōke master was so rude, … Disrespectful and well, nasty. She has the unfortunate habit of making those people that put in requests feel like they are annoying her. To be brutally honest she appears to have the personality of a vampire-sucking the fun right out of the evening and ruining our night. We were told she has been there for years. Maybe an off night. I suggest Gaslite for karaōke and Britannia for every other night. Jerry is also a perfect gentleman

First impressions: The pub is located off to the side of the the popular 3rd street promenade in downtown Santa Monica. Nice little outdoor seating area, open entrance with nice outdoor feeling. Seating: Good amount of seats at the bar, small nook to the right of entrance with sort of awkward picnic like tables. A few outdoor tables, hot spot to sit. Few small tables in the back downstairs, awkward wall mirror forces you to stare at yourself while you eat. Seating upstairs has one 4 seat table then 4 large party tables as well. Entertainment: about half a dozen Tvs downstairs, plenty of things to watch, awkward viewing angles though causing you to strain your neck to see. 3 large Tvs upstairs, much easier to watch. Service: Our waitress happened to be on one of her first shifts. Very uncomfortable taking our order, not sure how to recommend food. Patchy in conversation and«fill in» laughs. But all in all she tried. Ordered extra tartar sauce and it actually took longer to receive than the food itself did. Food: Order the Fish and Chips. Took about 10 minutes in total for both our dishes to come out. Fairly large fish, fried nice and crispy on the outer edge maybe a tad under cooked in the center. Served over a bed of ‘chips’ with a side of peas. The chips were just okay. Had some crispy and burnt mixed with some moist, soggy ones. Nothing too great. Peas were a tad mushy. The fish was pretty good all in all. Nice flavor, cooked well. Best part of the plate. Final thoughts: Would come here with a few Buddies late night after the sun sets. Grab a beer or two, maybe pick up the fish and chips during the happy hour for $ 5. Not too bad of a place to watch a penn state or eagles game(philly bar). Better places out there for gatherings or late night snacks.

Average Drinks and little too warm inside. I felt like the drinks were super watered down. But great location and when we went on Saturday night the karaōke was awesome. Good old classic rock, great music and fun environment. Update: I am always a fan of customer service. And the simple fact that someone reached out to me regarding my experience with the drinks made me bump one star up. Could be one off night and am willing to give this place another try, since they seem to take reputation very seriously.

A very chill bar just off of the 3rd Street Promenade. If you can get a seat outside along the sidewalk and people watch, that is the best. Inside there’s a downstairs with karaōke and an upstairs with tables to watch sports. The food was better than expected(buffalo wings). And there are plenty of beers to pick from. I’ve been here a few times and usually there’s quite a few tourists here.

I am not a bar hopping kind of girl so my reviews is completely biased. My coworkers and I were trying to hit up Hooters as a tradition after we pass out yearly check up, but unknown to any of us Hooters was closed, either permanently or for remodel not sure which. Anyway since we already parked and all came in separate cars and none of us felt like driving anywhere else we conveniently crossed the street to Britania Pub. I can’t speak for inside of the bar because we never went in since we got a table right outside, but I’m sure it’s like any regular bar with a TV to watch games etc. Sitting outside was chill. There are a lot of freaks walking by, I wish my phone didn’t die half way through drinks so I could actually snap a picture of some of them. I live in Santa Monica so quite used to being entertained by druggies, cross dressers etc(nothing against them), but the night we were out was just beyond popping with entertainment like a half naked dude talking to himself with one big dread on a pink leopard print skateboard rocking out. Drugs are no joke kiddos. We made it right before happy hour was over so we ordered pitchers of bruski, and a couple orders of nachos and fish and chips. While eating our greasy food(all good it’s bar food, not much to expect) my co worker and I almost threw it back up because there was a nasty older couple literally licking each other’s tongues. I’m as open minded as they come, and I’m all for PDA, but I do not ever want to see tongue licking(that’s literally what was happening) while I’m eating… or any time for that matter. That’s not even PDA, that’s more like ‘get a damn room.’ I’ll pay for it shoot, as long as I don’t see you tongue wrestling in front of my face. A little side tracking here, but I think characters at the bar add a lot to the bar atmosphere. Definitely entertaining for said scene. If you like bar hopping I’m sure this place is a chill spot for that. Like I said my review is biased because I rather get a juice from a healthy place than scarf down greasy fish. Just sayin’.

Was walking by, decided to stop in, try the fish & chips, and did not leave disappointed. The fish was light and fried to a flaky goodness. No fishy taste for those who fear that. The oil must have been new or fairly new because the fried flavor of the crispy batter was delicious and fresh. The fries were fries and complimented the fish well. Of course being a British style meal, there had to be peas and they were good for being peas(they stayed on their side of the plate and behaved). This was mid-afternoon so I’m sure the place had a much different feel and atmosphere than at night. Kind of small and narrow up front but looks to have more room in the back. The TVs overhead were showing various Saturday afternoon sports. The large front window was open onto the sidewalk patio and a nice ocean breeze was coming through. A few folks sitting at the bar chilling.
