So there are some decent things about this place, like the tuna sandwich which they say has 6oz of tuna. I have been coming here for 6 years and recently the chicken on the chicken sandwich has gotten smaller. Like not even covering the bread, like enough for a half a sandwich so that half your bites have no chicken. I asked how much chicken it has, they claim 4oz. That must be the precook sandwich because there are like three bites of chicken, that is it. This place is going down hill. Who would serve their customers a sandwich with chicken that barely covers half the bread? What a disappointment.

Cute little restaurant with lots of vegan options! We caught them right before closing at 3pm(pretty early!!) and decided to try the super veggie burger. I don’t know what it was made of, but this was one of the juiciest veggie burgers I’ve ever had! Usually they are more dry and will fall apart, but not this one. Served on a whole wheat bun and with a small salad, it really hit the spot. My only complaint is it was pricey! I paid around $ 14 for a simple burger, it was good and totally vegan and organic but I’m not sure if I would order it again. Next time I’ll have to try a smoothie! The other customers inside were raving about them.

Delicious breakfast food with a lot of vegan/vegetarian options. The coffee and smoothies are fantastic as well. It’s also off the beaten path(aka away from the Promenade) so it’s usually not crowded. I would make a specific recommendation but everything is good. Eat it. Now.

$ 8.75 for a smoothie. $ 8.75! You can get one from Starbucks for half that. Ridiculous.

I love superfood, have been coming here for years. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu and it’s all delicious. They have something for everyone whether you’re paleo, vegan or on a see-food diet they’ve got you covered. My only gripe is pricing is kinda high for a cafeteria style café but unfortunately that’s the trend in Santa Monica. We’d all love to see more affordable and healthy cafes in the area.

Fantastic. I always get the breakfast burrito which is epic, and maybe one day I’ll branch out? I’ve been told everything is good but I’ve only every gotten the breakfast burrito because it’s goddamn amazing. Their iced tea is great too. I have no clue what’s in it, but it’s tart and sweet and not too much in either direction. Go eat here today– I did!

I was super excited to try Superfood Café, but I must admit I was a little let down. I got the Masala Chicken Quesadilla and considering all of the toppings(which I found odd… Masala chicken but with tomatoes and corn and jalapeños and old brown avocado on top) I thought it would at least have a flavor. Very very unappetizing. This dish was almost flavorless and I found that the ingredients didn’t really work… Mexican/Indian fusion? You’d think at least it would be bursting with flavor. It did come with a yummy salad, which saved me because I couldn’t finish the quesadilla. If you are into healthy but bland foods(which I know some are into, not judging) then you would probably enjoy this. But, as for me… this is the first and last I’ll be having of Superfood Café. :/

Great place for clean and simple food! SuperFood Café is a family-run café located on the side of an office building. We came on a Saturday morning around 10am. We didn’t have trouble finding seating, but it is limited so I can see it being a problem during peak hours. This is a casual place where you order at the register and they bring you your food based on your designated number. Pros: Extremely friendly & helpful staff! Now let’s talk food: I ordered the Pupusa con Huevos($ 10.99), which was amazing! You can tell that the ingredients are fresh. There isn’t a lot of flare to these dishes, but the combination of each item pairs extremely well together. The tortilla is BOMB! Unfortunately the portions are a bit small but if you’re looking for something lighter this is a great option. SuperFood Café has a HUGE menu. This could be good or bad. If you’re indecisive, like me, maybe you won’t like it so much. This joint has everything from breakfast bowls to sandwiches, salads, to quesadillas. And of course, smoothies! I didn’t get a smoothie :(

Really cool spot for lunch-whether you want to dine in door or out door in the Santa Monica area. I tried the Chicken Masala Quesadilla and really enjoyed it. There’s a few other things on the menu that I’m looking forward to trying, and I love how just about everything on the menu here takes a healthy approach. While it was a little pricey, $ 16, I’d definitely consider coming here, but only when I’m looking to splurge on lunch. $ 20/day on lunch isn’t exactly the most budget friendly approach to take.

After the LA marathon we walked over for some grub since their menu is vegan friendly and one of my friends is vegan! the menu sports everything from salads, sandwiches, soups, smoothies, to breakfast items until 3pm. PLUS at the register they have a display with a variety of vegan pastires if you can resist! —chicken quesadilla: loved the thinness and crisp of the tortilla! the cheese made the filling a perfect amount of gooeyness —crab quesadilla: also yummy! but this one’s a bit pricey NOTE: they have patio seating but it was quite chilly so we dined indoors where it was really dim

Are you kidding me??? Overpriced doesn’t even begin to describe the food here. $ 12 for literally the smallest, most basic acai bowl I have ever seen. This is ridiculous. Take your money somewhere else.

Meh. Superfood Café is just alright. Stopped in right at 9am for a quick breakfast. Plenty of healthy choices so you can’t really go wrong. Ordered the chicken sausage scramble. It came with two small potatoes and toast. Good but definitely overpriced for what it was and the size. Chai tea latte [with almond milk] was alright. Bland, watery. Since we were one of the first to arrive, service seemed prompt. Very overpriced food.

Let me be clear — the food is VERY good, there just isn’t enough of it. Yesterday my girlfriend and I spent $ 50 here including tip. We ordered a turkey burger, turkey bacon frittata and gluten free pancakes to share. Everything came out on very small plates, almost like tapas. My frittata came with a side of fruit in a 2″ round bowl, and the frittata itself was made with two eggs I’m guessing. The pancakes were $ 11.99 and for that you get served 2 silver dollar cakes topped with fresh berries. Again, all very fresh and delicious, but the portion side is for a small child. Even the Diet Coke I ordered came in an 8oz bottle. Great, friendly service and fresh food, but after spending $ 50 I went home and made myself lunch.

A nice corner Café, very casual with a friendly staff very willing to make suggestions and accommodate a gluten free diet. When pondering the house made soup, the gentleman taking our order offered to heat a sample for tasting. It sold the order. The turkey burger was great(contained gluten), the chicken masala club was delicious. Just a short walk from the 3rd street Promenade. Worth the visit and away from the tourists.

Finally found a restaurant with several gluten free products. This place has several options and the food was very tasty. Overall, very good. However, the prices are a little steep and I ordered a diet coke thinking I was to get free refills. I was given an 8oz. bottle, a mini soda. Really? Again, good ambience, great location, good food, the menu is a little overwhelming and do not order a diet soda.

I came here on a Monday morning so there were only a couple other customers inside. Quiet atmosphere, polite and friendly staff, and the burro huevos I ordered was the perfect size to leave me feeling full but not, in the words of Louis C.K., hating myself. I also had the power super smoothie, which was delicious as well. I would come back!

I went to Superfoods on the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend with a friend and enjoyed both the Santa Cruz Scramble and Cherry Vanilla Smoothie. I believe my friend had a wrap of some description. Mine was delicious(with extra mushrooms) and I forgot to ask how the wrap was, but it looked great and was promptly devoured without complaint. Though we had many options for indoor and outdoor seating I suspect this place would pack out very easily at any other time, and the décor is pleasant but by no means filled with character. More like an inner city café used to high customer turnover. The outdoor section is cold at this time of year, as it’s in the shade in the morning and a bit windy. That said, the service was cordial and the meals arrived quickly(on that particular day — I’ll update when I return). Loads of great Vegan options with a convenient location. I’d definitely go back, and take more friends with me.

Service was slow — no acknowledgement or offer of table when we entered. Took menus and sat down. Waited 10mins before approaching the counter again for a server to come out with cutlery and take our orders. Drinks took 10mins(OJ and a tea), and we initially received the wrong order, took 5mins to get the correct drinks. Food was fast, but ordinary. I had the King’s eggs, and my husband had scrambled eggs on corn tortillas. Both were exceedingly small portions, watery and tasteless, and certainly not worth the wait. Recommend you only visit if you’re hungry, with time to spare and no other viable options.

One expects a certain amount of quality at an natural/organic restaurant in Santa Monica. Super Foods has priced their food as if they were competing with a place like Native Foods Café. However, the quality doesn’t come close nor does their service. The cashier’s attitude was unfriendly and apathetic. When my husband ordered his sandwich the clerk questioned what it was. When we showed him the name on the menu, and he kept calling it by another name. After a couple rounds of us saying what we wanted, and the cashier calling it a different name, the manager finally came over and confirmed that the name of the sandwich had been changed. The clerk could have saved us some time and frustration by simply indicating the name had changed instead of insisting we were wrong. I ordered the salmon salad with avocado dressing — a small piece of salmon on a huge bed of not so fresh lettuce and brown, stringy avocados. The non-dairy avocado ‘dressing’ tasted like water with a slight hint of avocado — quite disappointing. We have been here a few times before without issue. We won’t be going back due to the lack of service and lowered quality of food.

Live or work in the area? Need a quick, easy, healthy lunch? Want a healthier upgrade to your usual takeout spot? SuperFood Café might be the place for you! There’s nothing too special or exciting about this place, just simple and healthy food at a decent price. The menu is pretty large and they are totally fine with substitutions, so there’s something for everyone. We stopped by here for a very late breakfast on a crazy busy day(they serve breakfast till 3pm!) Our meals were tasty and we were happy to have something light and healthy. I had the chef tofu plate(which was pretty much a bowl, even though the cashier insisted it’s a plate) and subbed the tofu for egg whites(see what I mean about them being fine with substitutions?) The bowl, sorry I mean the plate, had tons of veggies over a bed of brown rice and quinoa. Flavorful and very healthy! Something I can easily make at home, but awesome for days when you just can’t be bothered. My hubby had the burro huevos. Basically a breakfast burrito with turkey bacon. I didn’t try it but he reported it was very flavorful and not big enough.

I have been coming here quite a lot lately and the service was really spotty, however, I would give a small local business a chance first instead of some corporation. Today that changed. Ordered a breakfast burrito to go: what do I get? — burrito rapped in paper and nothing else, no box, no bag, no utensils. What should I do with it? Put it in my pocket? :) Ordered a large latte with no foam — what do I get? — a latte with about an inch of coffee missing from the top and another inch of foam that I particularly asked not to put there. When I asked if that’s a coffee that I ordered — they confirmed that it is. I said that they did a really bad job but they just smiled/laughed. I expected at least my drink to be toped off, no — I did not get that, no apologies, nothing. Well, there are plenty of choices around this area where to have breakfast/lunch, superfood lost my business. Even if I was to exclude my today’s experience there, I would only give them 3.5 stars because of the lack of service and overpriced food that is just ok.

I order from here weekly. Our household go-to is the breakfast burrito with turkey bacon, perfect! I’ve also ordered with my company from here for lunches in the past and have enjoyed the salads and tofu bowls. I would not recommend the coffee, but the chai(… if they still do their own brew) is amazing

Been coming here for the better part of the last year since moving to Santa Monica and have begun to appreciate this little organic café more than I ever have recently. My go to is the Brettsky sandwich filled with fried egg, vegan sausage, cilantro, tomatoes, avocado, and vegenaise spread. It’s quite simply delicious everytime! My only complaint is that sometimes the portions feel slightly smaller than what I would like for the price. All I sometimes want is one or two bites more! But hey, maybe they’re just masters of not letting my stuff myself too far! This place is best for breakfast and brunch, I feel not as strong for lunch, but perhaps that’s coming from a vegetarian background. Thanks!!!

My friend couldn’t wait to take me here! She said she found it while looking for a healthy place to grub after a beach run… So that’s what we did. After a 3 mile run on the coast we walked 6 blocks up will we reached this café! I was really overwhelmed but the menu! So much text and nothing really stood out in terms of headings that categorized the food. We wanted to get a smoothie but we’re definitely hungry enough to get food too. So we split the Purple Erkel(apple-pomegranate juice, banana, acai and blueberries… Also tasted like there was almond butter in it) — I recommend splitting the smoothies because half a serving was MORE than enough(it was delicious) I ordered the Marguet Melt(under vegetarian sandwiches) with a side salad– comes with house balsamic vinaigrette and my friend ordered the Brettsky breakfast sandwich. I was surprised hers just came with the sandwich– no side. But oh well. Mine was one piece of toast(hardly a «sandwich»), open faced(specified in the description) but I still expected two slices. It was served with a side of chili sauce and some ginger-like sauce– both were delicious on top of my toast. They will fill up water bottles, their pitchers are cinnamon, mint and lemon infused water. It was really good, but for the price expected a little more food BUT nevertheless it was really good

Ok — so I actively avoid healthy eating but after going for a run on the boardwalk with a friend my brain wasn’t working right and we decided to keep up the charade of taking care of ourselves… and boy am I glad we did! This place was yummy! I even had some fancy requests like«please deconstruct my sandwich so it really isn’t a sandwich» and they did it! The smoothies are what I would come back here for again. They have some fantastic blends that you really wont find anywhere else. Loved that they used turmeric and ginger root in their SuperFood smoothie! It was deliciously spicy! The food was just as awesome as well! The Sriracha breakfast was super yummy! This place might make me either continue running or eating… one or the other… god forbid it’s both! :P

Look up at the menu! … It’s a salad! … It’s a sandwich! … It’s SuperFood! Yes, it’s SuperFood,(not so) strange cuisine from another hood who came to Santa Monica with chow and nourishment far beyond those of mortal meals. SuperFood, who can change the course of mighty midsections, bend diets with bare hands; and who, disguised as simple, mild-mannered lunch for a beach metropolis, fights a never ending battle for smoothies, juice, and the American way. And now, another episode in the exciting Adventures of SuperFood My Lois Lane and I found street parking on windy Wilshire Blvd. and continued our double life as diners-by-day and Unilocalers-by-night with a secret lunch at quiet SuperFood Café. We were alone. Our escape had worked. The SuperFood Menu was a hybrid of Sandwich suspects, Organic Salads, quirky Quesadillas, and a mysterious section promising Big Bowls. Since Kale is the current kryptonite, we settled for the House Chicken Salad($ 10) with Kale, Baby Spinach, Avocado, Baby Greens, Cucumbers, Tomato, Carrots, Sprouts, Broccoli, and a Corn Salsa with No-Mayo Thousand Island Dressing. Basically, it was the whole garden in one super salad made ready for any Man of Steel thanks to Free-range White Chicken.(4 stars) Due to its curious moniker, we also inspected the suspicious Spanish Jew Sandwich($ 11). The sandwich is a scrumptious sampling of Kosher Turkey Breast, Spanish Manchego, Arugula, Turkey Bacon, Jalapenos, and Tomato with a Vegan Dijonaise on toasted Rye Bread … so, the awkward name was no villain.(4 stars) In an effort to blend in with the local Santa Monicans, we also shared a G-Fresh Super Juice($ 7). It’s hiding in the smoothie section, but it is a green pulp of Kale, Spinach, Organic Apple Juice, Celery, Ginger, Hemp Seed, and a squeeze of Lemon. SuperFood Café advertises it as the«healthiest thing we make,» so opt for something else at your own risk.(4 stars) Our investigation was complete and our stomachs full. Superfood Café may be hidden in the base of an office building and not be a «destination» restaurant, but SuperFood is great if you are working nearby and need super food under the guise of quick and healthy. … Faster than a speedy gourmand! … More powerful than a carnivore! … Able to leap tall vegans in a single bound! It’s SuperFood!

We went here for brunch based on the Unilocal reviews, and were a bit surprised what a casual spot it is. Not a problem, but be aware. The setting is very utilitarian and you definitely wouldn’t come here for the ambiance. It’s true there isn’t even a bathroom, but there is a key for the restroom on the first floor of the adjacent office building, which because it is an office building, is quite nice. I had the special of the day — a croque madame — which while not traditional at all, and I love the traditional ones — was actually even better because it wasn’t extremely greasy and actually seemed somewhat healthy. It was made with chicken bacon instead of ham, a much appreciated switch. Definitely not for everyone, but great for those looking for a healthier option.
