Eric our server was awesome!!! If you have a little one, this is the perfect place to go! He gave us everything needed to entertain her before even asking.

David was a great waiter the food was great. I don’t think I could have asked for better service! If you have a chance to choose a server David is elite.

Omg the worse service ever I will never eat at Johnny Rockets again the manager would not come to our table the worse part is today is my nieces birthday and we waited so long for our food I looked around and I was the only black person in the here the manager Martha finally came to our table I had a very very bad time at Johnny Rockets I will never eat here again fuck you!!!

Discriminated for having a stroller!
Worst experience ever! Never going back there! Unfortunately, 0 stars is not an option. I understand that their patio area is small and on the weekends it’s super busy. However, that doesn’t give them the right to be rude. My husband and I where looking for place to have dinner along with our 2yr old. We had a stroller with us. So while we waited to be seated a server approaches us and tells us «can’t you fold your stroller?» I responded, «yes,
Once we are seated» while my toddler was still seated on the stroller. she then adds «oh just sit wherever» so my husband and I being conscious of our stroller, we look for a place were it wouldn’t get in the way of anyone. We find a place in the corner and with our folded stroller we sit on the table. Then, 2^nd server approaches us and tells us «oh you can’t have your stroller there! What if I have another customer, I might have to sit them there! And your stroller will just be in the way!» So at the point we decided to leave. I have never felt discriminated for having a stroller.

Oh Douglas where do I begin? Let me first say the service. Oh my god. Upon first entering this establishment I was having quite a bad day. My shit went to shit and it was super rough. However the first second I locked eyes with that mother ducker, I knew that he would serve the shit out of me. He sang some Aretha Franklin and I was all like what? Douglas you beautiful creature you made my Johnny rockets experience top notch and I know you strive to make every gathering extraordinary.
The food was okay.

Oddly, I had no idea that Johnny Rockets served breakfast but we stopped here for a quick morning bite… Their breakfast options are actually pretty decent and our server Sandy was very helpful and friendly. She gave several suggestions and was fun to interact with. I wasn’t very hungry so I went with some breakfast sandwich, it was small but very good. The coffee was okay too. Overall I was pleased with the visit and the ambience helped make this meal very enjoyable :)

I love johnny rockets and have been coming here for years. Their servers make designs out of the ketchup which puts a smile on my face. I always get the same thing which is the chicken sandwich, fries, and a strawberry shake. The sourdough bread for the chicken sandwich is fantastic. Their shakes have actual fruit in them and are so delicious. You can also choose a song to play through the jukebox. I hate how crowded the promenade has gotten in the past years because often you have to wait for a table when it didnt use to be like this, but it is worth the wait. Also there is a parking structure right behind it which makes for easy and accessible parking. If you signup for their email club, they will often send you coupons to save some money.

Awesome place for breakfast. Coffee’s always made fresh, thanks to our server, Erik! I come here almost every week and he always has the coffee ready as soon as I sit down and knows what I order. And! Serves it pretty quick! Even when it’s busy, he never looks like he’s rushed and is always taking care of all his guests.

Okay, this is it! A perfect experience before our regular Friday night movie @AMC Santa Monica 7.
We were seated right away at our favorite spot at the counter; server was Paul; a cute, polite guy who is Johnny-​on –the-​spot with service and a smile. Paul, thank you for accepting our order right off the bat, and not asking us multiple times if «we were sure» we didn’t want fries or a salad. You couldn’t have been nicer to us — mom has a little crush on you.
The Route 66 was so good and what can I say about the vanilla shake — everybody knows how excellent they are!
We both noticed right away that something was verrrrry different about the store last night… what could it be? All the servers and chefs were really calm and the atmosphere was pleasant, not heavy with negative energy. Aha!.. The usual manager was not there and the kind gentlemen who has some interesting body art was in charge.
You can tell the vast difference in management style. This guy (sorry, didn’t catch your name) was always smiling and easy with his team. He told me that he likes everyone to do what they do, and he is there if they need him. Wonderful!
Oh, and my coupon for BOGO shakes? Accepted readily with a smile… no comments, smirks or innuendo came our way For The First Time…
If every experience at our little local JR could be this way, we’d be there every single week.

I haven’t eaten at a Johnny Rockets forever. I certainly didn’t expect to pop into here, but it happened. My companions had a burger and the other had grilled chicken sandwiches. I just wasn’t in the mood so I tried something new — the chili!
It was so delicious, but for $ 5 I thought there wasn’t much in the bowl. I washed it down with a yummy strawberry shake. With the California drought I do what I can to help out. :) that was yummy too.
For $ 12.49 after tip I think the food wasn’t worth the $. A bigger bowl of chili would have put a smile on my face.

Too busy to serve.
It took them a while to acknowledge that I was standing in the front of «please wait to be seated» sign. When I sat myself at the counter, I had to wait some more in order for someone to take any orders. The server finally came and asked me what I wanted.
I ordered the Grill Cheese and Fries. After taking my order and leaves, he comes back 5 minutes later and asks me what I wanted to drink. I didn’t order anything to drink at the time so asked him for water. He drops off the water and doesn’t bother offering a straw. I looked at the counter to realize that all the straw holders were far for me to reach so I ended up drinking from the cup.
Food came and I ate. No one came to check up on me nor refill my water. As I work on the second half of my sandwich, a server slides my check next to me.
I finished my lunch, paid cash and left without talking to any other server.
I was a bit hesitant about giving them tip but I just didn’t bother anymore at that point and still put down 15%. I don’t think I will come back here.

Ashley, Aimee & Paul made my dinning experience quite fantastic. Happy employees make happy guests. Prompt service, entertaining and skilled ketchup drawing. Good family fun. 10 points to griffindor!

This place is just not that good, I would give it 2.5 stars. My boyfriend and went here because we always walk on the Promenade and see this place all the time. We both haven’t eaten at Johnny Rockets for a really long time so we decided to give it a try.
We ordered regular cheeseburgers and they were the most basic cheeseburgers I have eaten. We also got an order of cheese fries, and the cheese was basically dry when it got to us. I don’t know about you, but I like my cheese hot and oozing when it gets to me. The milkshake was whatever, too, but probably the best thing we ordered.
What’s really cool about this place is how you can order from a touchpad at your table. The touchpad has games you can play (25 cents per game) and my boyfriend and I were addicted and spent almost $ 2. It’s fun to play while you’re waiting for your food — so good job Johnny Rockets for that!

Terrible service! We sat outside, and it was 9:30pm. Our «waitress» was extremely rude, never came to check up on us, we had to beg her to bring our refills. We asked for the check and she said «uhu» and it took more then 10 minutes to bring it.
The food was bland, and we paid for the unlimited fries, and never got a batch of fries as she never came up to ask us and she never showed up to our table. The burgers were small, and dry, very average.
The manager eventually came, made excuses for the waitress, took off one entrée and we paid the bill, with no tip and ran out of there. Never will I be back here.
Overall the experience and food was terrible, and deserves ZERO stars!

Erik is the BEST! I look forward to having breakfast here every week because of his hospitality and attention to detail. Erik makes my coffee fresh before I even sit down, and is quick with everything.
The food is the best value on the promenade, and it’s better quality than any other burger type places around here. I highly recommend for casual dining.

Everytime we come to Los Angeles we visit Johnny Rockets in Santa Monica! The other half reckons they have the best American burgers around.
It’s a Rock N Roll diner style restaurant with old school music playing & wait staff dressed to the era.
The staff have always been friendly & attentive when you walk in. They serve you quickly & with no problems.
The menu encompasses burgers, fries, milkshakes etc. All the traditional American greasy fast food you can think of. All of it is prepared fresh & depending on where you sit you can see them cooking your food.
Meals are generally around $ 10.

Les hamburgers servies au Johnny Rockets sont très bon, un passage obligé quand vous êtes en vacances à Los Angeles ! Pour le prix ils sont tout à fait à la hauteur. Les milkshakes sont également très bons.
