This is why I love Unilocal. Found a great resource for lunch time foods that I wouldn’t have been able to otherwise. It is a one way street and parking sucks so I had to park illegally and go to the truck closest to me but there was a large variety of cuisines from bbq to Indian. It happened to be the Calbi truck I went to and I got the pork burrito. Tasted like an korean rice and meat bowl all wrapped up in a flour tortilla, because that’s literally what it was. At lunch time, people walk around the street and it seems like a mini-food festival. Fun & experimental, two of the things I love most about food!

Food Truck Alley brings lunch options to an otherwise boring area of Santa Monica. But why is it on a random street without sidewalks? The side that the trucks park on has a moderately steep slope and can be muddy. There’s also plants you can trip on. I would appreciate it more if I didn’t have to change shoes or be concerned about my safety every time I come here.

A food truck gathering every weekday from about 11am-2pm! I love that there are so many options here because there are usually at LEAST10 trucks so it’s usually me walking back and forth for a good 10 minutes trying to decide what I want to try. You’re bound to find something especially since most of the trucks have great ratings on Unilocal, and it’s not the same food trucks every day! Woohoo.

** Selection * Quality * Location Food truck alley is cool. Always busy with all sorts of food trucks. Short walk from my work, and it seems there are a bunch of industry people that gather here for lunch as well. There are usually about 10 — 12 trucks on any given day, with a great variety. The lines are never absurd either, I get my lunch in a reasonable time. Most trucks accept credit cards too. They’re all parked on a one way street, and it doesn’t seem like there’s much parking there, but if you go down Steward street, there’s always meters. I’d avoid the street they’re parked on all together, always people just walking in the middle of the street looking at the selections(myself included– sorry!) Do: Holy Aioli — Any sandwich Wawa Truck — Chicken burrito Carb & Nation — pork belly bun Pork Belly’s — amazing pork belly sandwich, brisket sandwich, and chocolate chip cookies Moegg Rolls — crazy burrito style egg rolls(basically fried burritos aha)

Great option for all kinds of foods from trucks. As an out of ‘towner’, this was a treat. Many options to try out. Only downside is there isn’t a sit down place to eat the food. You’ll either to sit on the curb or head to a local office park area that has seating. YUM!

Great spot to have lunch . I suggest you try all the trucks they rock… Hang ten tacos was goo. The shuck truck serves amazing brisket. Miry Boba has fresh drinks to cool you down when your walking around and trying some of the trucks

This truck used to be awesome! Great food good prices and nice people. Now? They have raised the prices, the rolls don’t taste fresh, and the curry just tastes like the generic stuff you can get at any store. If the line isn’t long to order anymore you know why

I work pretty much next door, and its a great option when you have nowhere else to go, need something quick, or have a set truck in mind. Having a set truck in mind is probably the most important aspect of coming to food truck alley on your lunch hour, if you don’t you really run the risk of being disappointed with your lunch at a time where you may be unable to run out and get something else. If you’re checking out food truck alley at any other time or while not on your lunch hour, GOFORIT! Try everything! Only keep in mind that it can get a little pricey.

UnilocalINSIDERTIPFROMDOREEN(AKAAZNPERSUASION): My fave truck is Fishlips which comes every Mon and Fri, a line starts forming at 1145am as they are popular. My next fave trucks are the Phantom Truck and Jogasaki. ***** I need to try India Jones, The Green Truck, and tons more. It is never ending the amount of trucks that come thru here.

Most trucks have great food, sometimes over priced, but that’s the name of the game ! DONOT get food from the Mac N Cheese truck ! No veggies in my veggie Mac and allllll cheese, not the normal mac cheese, but thick cheddar, on the verge of curdling, drowned in oil ! TERRIBLE !! That’s it. every other food truck I have loved.

Awesome place to have lunch if you like food trucks! It’s literally a street filled with food trucks every work day from 12 – 2PM. It’s like a mini daily food truck festival :) Definitely a gem for all the buildings nearby — it’s the go-to place for lunch! They have a lot of regulars with a few newcomers every week. Each day is different, so my suggestion is to come here yourself to check it out OR follow their Twitter account(@foodtruckalley) to see who’s here. Sometimes they don’t update their Twitter, but if you work closeby, it’s not too much of a hassle to see what truck is here. For the most part, I’ve been impressed and satisfied with the trucks that come here — lots of variety and some of my favorites. BUT like most food trucks nowadays, the lines can be long and the prices can be steep. You’re gonna have to find the truck you like for a lot of their prices/portions to be worth it. But with days that sometimes have 10 – 15 trucks here? It’s hard not to find a good one :)

I love that there’s such a variety of food to get and it’s usually really good. The only thing that’s unfortunate is that there’s no place to sit so I usually just end up taking the food back to work. I also love that before you walk down there you can see what food trucks are down there on their twitter page: @foodtruckalley

Worth coming for lunch if you have never been. If you have been then you already know its worth coming back to. Several trucks every weekday so you can try something new each time. Can’t go wrong here. Prices vary by truck but usually are in the $ 5 – 12 range for a dish.
