I have been going to Dr. Terri Stibel for over ten years, and I have had a consistently outstanding experience! I have difficult-to-correct vision and sensitive eyes, and she has always prescribed my contacts and glasses perfectly. When my contact lens provider discontinued my very specific lenses, Dr. Stibel took the time to research similar replacements, and gave me samples to try. What could have been a catastrophe was solved completely thanks to her time investment and commitment to the care of her patients. She is thorough, professional, pleasant, and provides expert medical care.

I’ve been going to Dr Terri for about 5 years now and I absolutely love her. You will not rush in and rush out of her office(nor should you!) — she takes her time getting to know you and your common habits to help understand your needs. It is evident she genuinely cares about your vision and getting you the best possible service. I highly recommend her!

I love Dr. Stibel! Both she and her husband John are kind thoughtful, friendly, courteous and very, very thorough optometrists. Our whole family has gone to them for many years and we’ve always been treated very well. I highly recommend them.

Its a shame that I didn’t make it to experience Dr. Stibel because she seemed very nice and came highly recommended. Thats the only reason this is a 2-star and not a 1-star review. I made an appointment as a new patient and waited a week for an afternoon opening. The lady who made my appointment asked if I had insurance and I responded with my very large common carrier PPO. She sounded unsure if I qualified but said«oh well come in and we’ll figure it out.» In hindsight I now realize how troublesome those 8 little words are. Over the weekend I got a reminder call and a request to verify the spelling of my name and that I was a new patient. I called back and did as I was asked(missed opportunity #2). On the day of my appointment I walked in and was greeted by an administrative woman who asked me for my insurance. I told her the same thing I did on the phone only this time it was a more affirmative«we only take VSP(vision service plan).» She offered to check with her provider and asked me for my name, date of birth and last 4 social. I continued to fill out the first time patient form thinking this was going to work out. Nope. Not covered. What would be a $ 10 copay for a basic exam would cost me $ 120. So let me get this straight. In the world of ever-changing insurance providers and plans they never thought to verify coverage on a new patient? When all it took was my name, dob, and last 4 social??? I accept that some of the responsibility falls on me, but when you know for a week and don’t verify, make follow up calls and don’t verify, and say«just come in we will figure it out» you should accept someone may Unilocal a bad review. But here’s the part that really got me. The insurance verification(both theirs and mine), the sorry-for-your-time small talk and who-referred-me with the doctor took about 20 minutes. About 3 blocks away and 25 minutes into my appointment block I called and said I’d like to come back in rather than take off early another day. To my shocking surprise the admin woman came back on the line and said I’d have to reschedule because an eye exam takes an hour. It would’ve gone well over my hour block anyway if I had stayed in the office! A very unproductive, unsatisfying afternoon. At least now I know not to rely on the medical profession to act professionally when it comes to verifying insurance coverage.
