The food is good but the service is better. My friend and I celebrated our birthday brunch there on a gorgeous Saturday seated on the patio. We each got the cutest birthday cards from the restaurant which all the staff had signed. I’m sure they do it for all birthdays but it was such a nice and personal touch. My table loved the Philly cheesesteak rolls and the kale/Brussels salad. Sweet potato fries were awesome dipped in the avocado ranch they make. Great location, right next to the pier and a large patio to enjoy the sunshine!

When my cousin told me about this place, I didn’t know what I was expecting coming here. I’m glad he chose this spot cause simply put, I had an amazing time. We ended up getting great seats outside and a perfect view also. Chase was our waiter and he did a phenomenal job. Gave us many great tips and things to try out since it was my first time. For our drink, we had an old fashioned, and for our appetizer, we had cheesesteak egg rolls which was delicious. We tried the special they had, some type of meal where you get three steaks with some potatoes and different sauces for each one. The price for it was $ 60, but it sure was worth it! Overall we had a great experience and I will be coming back!

We had the best seats in the house for people watching and catching the basketball game while enjoying the best food: ahi tacos were loaded with ahi and avocado, steak salad has the most flavorful and tender steak on a bed of greens, the kids enjoyed the sausage and pepperoni flatbread while hubby ordered the prime steak so juicy and tender

Came here to eat breakfast with my family. It was an unusual chilly morning, but despite that we enjoyed a nice toasty meal sitting outside with the heater next to us. Very friendly service; place is VERY clean and pleasing. Crabcake Benedict was our favorite. Price averages to be around $ 15 – 20

I’ve been to other locations around the country and was not overly impressed… But this del frisco exceeded all my expectations. the steak flight entrée… Brilliant! The servers had a great attitude. We made a mistake on our reservations and the hostess accommodated us without a hassle. It was incredibly busy but the food, drinks and service was great. We’ll definitely be back!

Excellent cheeseburgers and fish. Service is very good. The only reason it did not get five stars is because there were several families in here with small children that were very disruptive. Not the restaurant to be bringing small kids too.

Great restaurant. We had a nice girl serving us(with a color spot in one of her eyes. In case the manager that will read this would like to know) So here is what happened: First, we ordered drinks. Drinks come and the glass are a little dirty but, you know, it’s okay it happen. We don’t complain about it because we don’t want to be those kind of people. And then we order food and the food come for two of us but the 3rd plate did not come until we were pretty much done with our meal. Even though, it was a simple cesar salad! Again, it’s okay, we don’t complain about it because, as a server myself, I know what happens and it’s usually the kitchen that gets very busy. Then we ask for the check. I think in total we may have left $ 4 dollars tips on a $ 84 check. My friend apologizes to the waitress for the tips amount because she’s a little is poor right now. And then the waitress mumble something under her breath, obviously letting us no know that she’s not happy about the low tips amount. After thinking about it for a while, I decided to leave a note for our waitress. Then, the waitress comes by and said I didn’t need to leave a note, so I decided to tell her what I was writing in the note. I told her that it is not okay for her to show her unhappiness about the tips amount and that as a server, she should not expect tips. And she replied that we all order mix drink so we obviously had money. Her telling the costumer, me, that she thinks we should leave more tips for her service is NOTOKAY. Her arguing with the costumer, me, about whether or not we are poor is NOTOKAY. I understand that in California tips are very important but as a server you can’t get mad at the customer when they leave a small tip or no tip at all because of their financial situation in life. Because it will usually end up as a bad review on Unilocal

If your looking for good food I would say go cause the food is great but the reason I put 2 stars is cause I feel ripped off. Me and my boyfriend went here and it was nice and the waitress explained to us what’s specials they had and we ordered. My boyfriend got a stake and we were told it was $ 49 and once we got the check it said $ 89 and when we asked the waitress said no that was a $ 89 stake now being told $ 49 and getting and having to pay $ 89 is a different thing. I had the chicken and I have to say it was nothing exciting it tastes very plain it was a regular grilled chocked unsalted and no taste at all. But the VIP drink was delicious. Now if your going here just make sure you pay what your told cause they tell you one thing then you get billed something else which was a huge disappointment for us.

Took a trip to Santa Monica with my wife and two kids, along with my brother-in law. Their favorite sandwich was no longer on the menus so we had to branch out. Pro’s: — plenty of seating — hostess allowed us to choose where we sat. — heaters were working to keep the chill away — great atmosphere Cons: — waiter was a little new and didn’t know everything. — took a while to get some questions answered but I think it was because he was new. Food: Amazing and I definitely would go back. — Fish tacos with that sauce they have was amazing. Probably he best fish tacos I’ve had in a while. — appetizing — Philly cheese egg roles were out of this would. Great sauce. I’d come back for sure. Great ocean view!

I had the steak sandwich with regular fries. The horseradish that came with it was excellent. The au jus and bread were also good, but for the price, I suppose I expected a bit more. My friends and family enjoyed their food, the wait staff was friendly and the location was great. It was my girl friends parents 35th anniversary and the waitress hooked us up with a GIANT piece of lemon cake, which was excellent, and the Nutella bread pudding was amazing. It came with a scoop of coffee ice cream. I’m normally not a huge fan of desert, but I was impressed. A bit touristy? Yes, but overall I have no complaints.

Right at the Santa Monica pier this is very nice place for brunch and sunny afternoon. Got a place ASAP on a Friday afternoon. Ordered the Ahi Tacos($ 17), MeatLoaf($ 19) and thechicken avocado wrap($ 15). The Ahi Tacos were amazing although a little expensive. The wrap was really good! Meatloaf — average.

Great ambiance and location, unimpressed with the food and service. We dropped in after walking from the pier and got a table outside without a reservation so that was good. After being seated a waitress suggested grabbing water for the table and proceeded to disappear for what seemed like 30 mins. Eventually, we were switched over to another waitress and finally ordered food but was never asked about drinks. I guess we’re all drinking water since no one wants to wait an hour just to get drinks. Appetizers: Asian Street Bao Buns This was a travesty to actual char siu bao. If you’ve actually had Chinese pork buns before, prepare to be disappointed. The shredded pork tasted like it came from the freezer aisle of your local grocery store. And the pillowy-soft steamed buns you expect with bao were rigid and hard. The sickly-sweet American style BBQ also didn’t go with the pseudo-generic Asian ingredients. They probably should just scrap this from the menu all together. Trying to serve Asian appetizers at a place that labels itself«modern American» bar and grill just seems like a bad idea. I admit I take some of the blame for even ordering this dish, not one of my finer moments. Fire-Roasted Artichoke This was pretty tasty. Not sure there’s much to say it was grilled artichoke seasoned well. Lamb Burger This burger was decent but ultimately a bit bland. It came with a tzatziki aioli that I was excited to taste but there wasn’t much flavor there. That being said the burger was cooked perfectly and the buns were nicely soft and fresh. Think this burger has a lot of potential just didn’t deliver with the flavor. Spent about $ 100 for 3 people(mind you without drinks) so moderately priced given the location. That being said, there are plenty of better options to go to around the area. Probably wouldn’t stop here again. Their great location right across from the pier is probably the only reason they’re so busy. It’s not the food or the service.

I definitely recommend the VIPDRINK it’s very good

So, This is our new Sunday spot! Start to finish was just incredible. The path is puppy friendly and welcoming. There are subtle TV’s that aren’t distracting to conversation but available for Sunday sports fans. sitting outside you will have a nice view of the Santa Monica Pier. They also have heaters that keep the cool ocean breeze comfortable. We started with drinks, a jalapeño margarita and the white sangria. The white sangria was scrumptious, I especially like the option to order by the glass or carafe. and there is a popsicle floating in it! We were planning on getting an appetizer but the Bananas foster french toast jumped out at us. SO glad we ordered this. I only wish it was made on sour dough bread. the candied bacon that was served as garnish was just divine! Best french toast I’ve had in awhile. For our entrees we ordered the ahi tacos and steak sandwich. Ahi Tacos are cute, love the idea. they were tasty and easy to eat. Steak sandwich was bomb! I loved the horseradish and ordered extra on the side it was so good. This is a hearty sandwich with a whole lotta meat, I hope your hungry! We decided to add a fried egg to ours, taking it to the net level. worth it! Everything was so delicious we didn’t want to stop. so we asked for the desert menu. Ever selection sounded amazing it was her to choose. so we settled on the Salted Butterscotch Pudding and Coconut Cream Pie. Both were phenomenal. not a word I use lightly while describing my deserts. The coconut cream pietas beautifully presented and was probably enough for 3 – 4 people to share. The crust was like sandy crumbles that was effortless to cut into. the white chocolate shavings and fresh whipped cream on top was perfection. did I detect a bit of Speculoos cookie butter in the crumble? order this! The Butterscotch pudding, may be the best taste I’ve had in my mouth ever. the carmel floating in top just added to the experience. Texture, flavor, appearance were all 10⁄10. I would love to taste this colder, almost in frozen custard format. I will be coming back her again and again.

This is not a bad place. I had quite a few of the mixed drinks here and they were all excellent. Our waitress was fantastic as well. The only thing I wasn’t too huge a fan of were their chips and guacamole. The chips were pretty oily, but I guess the good news is that they are made in-house. Perhaps if I were to order them again they wouldn’t be as bad. The best part about this place though is the view of the pier entrance! We sat outside one evening and just people-watched(which is fascinating in Santa Monica, as we all know…). I’d definitely return.

With its proximity to the pier and third street, it’s easy to write off Del Frisco’s as a tourist trap. I know I did. But I admit when I am wrong and this is one of those(rare) times. Beautiful ambience, great food and drinks, and good service. That does not a tourist trap make. AMBIENCE: Must sit outside! Beautiful ocean view and breeze. They are nice enough to specify your preference on your reservation and accommodate you. If you do sit inside, the inside is nicely decorated. FOOD: We loved: Ahi tuna tacos Artichoke Ahi tuna salad Salmon(comes with a delicious side of quinoa salad! The fish was a bit too salty but overall tasty enough to overlook that) Not fans of: Kale salad(absolutely drenched in dressing and chicken too chewy. Would’ve preferred to spend those calories on mac and cheese). DRINKS: Great list of cocktails and they can make any drink you want, exactly to your specifications. We got(and loved): VIP martini– on the sweeter side and citrusy Youth serum martini– not sweet at all and very refreshing. I love cucumber drinks! SERVICE: Very friendly and attentive, although a bit slow at times but they were busy. Overall, not my favorite of the restaurants on Ocean, but a good choice!

The steak salad tastes so good, it make you wanna slap yo mama! We had an amazing dinner here. A group of 6 and on a Saturday evening after spending all day on the beach. We were seated after a 15 minute wait. It took a while for our waitress to arrive, but that was okay. She brought waters and took our drink orders. We had Chips and Guac to start off with and went straight for our main course. The wait wasn’t very long even though they were pretty busy. I gave this place 4 stars instead of 5 because they were cheap with the greens. I ordered a salad, which came with very little greens. I would imagine that the steak costs much more than leaves. That was very disappointing. My friends even offered to give me some of their salads because mine didn’t have much. One of them had the same dish, with 4 – 5 times the greens. Parking’s not easy in the area. No such thing as free parking either. Most garages charge at least $ 14 for the entire day. Definitely worth checking out though.

Stopped here on the road to Coachella for some lunch. The place was pretty empty, so I had low expectations, but it ended up being pretty tasty! I had the combo fish tacos and house salad. The fish was well-seasoned and crispy, and I loved the corn-jicama salsa! My friends had the veggie burger and sweet potato fries which they raved about. Also ordered the white sangria. Sangria was okay, but it also came with a strawberry Popsicle which was amazing and refreshing. Service was great, too. I would probably try another spot if I’m ever back in Santa Monica, but it was a good experience for anyone looking for a quick and tasty bite!

Walking towards Santa Monica Pier we stumped into this place that reminded me of Yard House from Vegas. This is really a beautiful restaurant right by the beach. I ordered a Green Chili Burger that I devoured! I usually don’t finish my burgers but this one in particular had no issues getting in my tummy. They have little tiny ketchup bottles that come with the fries that U can just individually squirt which is such a good idea so you won’t waste it plus it’s cleaner. I asked for side of ranch and they brought out avocado ranch. That was extremely unique. It’s just ranch but it’s green so it might freak some people out but I loved it. We also got deviled eggs for appetizer. Only thing I wish about that is that i wish it came out with more than just 4! It came out with some green chili drizzle on top which was different and it was Delish. I got a white sangria which was really good. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal. The waiter was delightful, even cracked jokes. Good guy.

We came here with a group of friends to try De Frisco’s DineLA Menu and enjoyed a very good time. The DineLA Lunch menu was $ 20 for picking 2 courses out of the following 3 categories: A. 3 types of starters(grille salad, wedge salad, cheeseteak eggrolls), B. 4 types of entrée(roasted chicken, wild salmon, grille prime cheeseburger, prime beef short rib stroganoff), and C. 3 types of dessert(nutella bread pudding, chocolate molten cake, and cheesecake) Since we had a group of 5, we were able to mix and match starters and desserts and still have each person order his/her own entrée(definitely recommend coming here as a group). The waitress gave a wonderful sale’s pitch for The VIP $ 12. It’s flavorful but not that strong. I do really enjoy the tang from the pineapple flavor but it just felt a bit water down… Grille salad(crisp mixed greens, carrot, bacon, vinaigrette) — very flavorful and includes 2 pieces of bacon… we all know that bacon makes everything taste better so it’s kind of like cheating. Prime beef short rib stroganoff comes with Pappardelle noodles. Is it just me or the dish is kind of like Taiwanese beef stew noodle without the soup? The meat was tender and juicy but I kept thinking about having some soup with it. The roasted chicken was a bit dry and not really worth trying. Nutella Bread Pudding with Coffee Ice Cream was amazing! The view is excellent as the restaurant is situated in one of the busiest corner in Santa Monica by the ocean. For Dinela menu, I’m a fan all the way but if I had to pay full price for each dish… then it’s A-OK. You’ll be paying not just for the meal but the view as well.
