Found this hole in wall after an all day craving of a fresh sandwich. Super friendly owner! My sandwich was delicious, very flavorful. Love the seasoning and oil the add, fresh and yummy. Price are a lil high but i enjoyed mine, thank you!

This place used to be good. Now it takes over 40 minutes to have a sandwich made. Many of the wrong sandwiches were made and a constant stream of «Sorry» as an excuse. Looks like most of the other people waiting here upset as well. I think this place is done for. I know I won’t be coming back. Now we’ve been waiting for one hour for my friends sandwich… And more errors on other orders. And more sorry…

I hate to write bad reviews and I am usually an optimistic person but unfortunately, going to this place was a horrible experience. The service was extremely slow and disorganized. It took over 35 minutes to get one meatball sub after they accidentally gave my sub away to someone else! There was at least 10 other disgruntled patrons waiting for over 20 min. each for their food as well. The sandwich itself was mediocre and could have been better… There is a few other mom & pop sandwich shops in the area, so I would pass on this place and go somewhere else.

Love Carols. I eat here every week. My only issue is that the pastrami is mostly bread. If you want to get full do the cold subs and easy mayo unless you love mayo and you will love this place

I have to say that I disagree with most of those who reviewed this café. I found it to be precisely average. I’ve eaten at many sandwich shops like this… they can be found in most businesses parks. Carol’s Café is in no way exceptional. My Classic Italian Sub was neither classic nor very Italian. It was made the same way as any others sandwich, with plenty of mayonnaise. I found the price a bit high for the standard sandwich that I received.

Best neighbor you can ask for =D Our company orders from Carol’s all the time, like literally multiple orders a week every single week and we are always met with the best quality of ingredients and warmest hospitality and service from Carol and her family. We understand she runs the business with a skeleton crew, so we put our company orders in well in advance and pick up according to her estimate. My favorite is the #9 the Ham, Roast Beef, Turkey & Provolone sandwich. I get mine on french roll, and you absolutely MUST get it with onions. They’re delightful! When I’m there, I hear people order all the time and tell her to leave the onions out, but they’re pickled/cured red onion so they don’t have that super strong raw onion-y bite to them. If you start to come frequently, you can count on Carol to remember your name and the latest gossip you might have divulged from your last few visits. She carries conversation with a refreshing sing-song charm not uncharacteristic of first generation immigrants. And, don’t be afraid to ask for something different or extra or custom-made. She will always be honest if she can or cannot do something, but she prides herself on customer service and will do her best to tailor-make your meal to your liking. If you’re surprised at what comes out, or if something doesn’t meet your expectations, LETHERKNOW! She appreciates the feedback and will honestly use your critique to make the food better because she sincerely wants to see you happy. They keep this sandwich shop open to support their kids’ schooling and their grand kids too, so despite their small facility and humble appearance, there’s a ton of love coming out of this shop. Support a local, family-owned place and eat at Carol’s!

I was in the area and looking for a good place for sandwiches. So I decided to Unilocal.I found a lot of great reviews from my fellow Unilocalers. So I gave it a go. I ordered turkey with rost beef. The condiments and the meat was on point but the bread has to go. So all in all I had better sandwiches for a $ 10 meal.

This place does not hold up to the reviews below. Not impressed with the portion of meat and sandwich had so much mayo it was unbeatable. I took both halves and transferred all meat to one sandwich. Also scrapped tons of mayo off the bread and meat to make one eatable sandwich. Staff was very sweet, but sandwich is not recommendable.

Such a friendly place with delicious, fresh food. I had the roast beef sub and it was a generous amount of meat and veggies. My husband had the pastrami melt and remarked on the excellent quality of the meat-not fatty. Great food, service with a smile!

Decided to try a sandwich spot near my job and went here. My goodness how delicious their Turkey, Bacon, and Avocado sandwich was. Think I found my usual lunch spot. Will definitely be returning to this place. Oh and the lady she was very helpful. I truly appreciate her help in getting the best sandwich

Love the sandwiches! This place is way better than subway! The bread is so fresh and delicious! I highly recommend the turkey bacon avocado!

I got the turkey bacon avocado sandwich on french and I have to say I’m pretty disappointed… The bread is pretty dry and doesn’t taste fresh, there’s hardly an avocado, and what little bacon and turkey there is is massively overshadowed by the mass of shredded iceberg(the only thing of abundance in my sandwich)… Yes, the sandwich did cost me only $ 6, but I can get the same thing at subway and perhaps that would have been more satisfying because at least the bread is toasted… Nothing atrocious, just a plain sandwich that doesn’t stand out in any single way… Definitely not worth coming back.

Just took my first trip to «Carol’s Café» and have to say,…I am pleasantly surprised! This quaint sandwich shop has good prices, and the food to match. I had the Chinese Chicken Salad and it didn’t disappoint. With a generous amount of lettuce and other greens, it’s just right for lunch. If you’re in the SFS area, stop by!

After reading the reviews I figured I would give this place a try — after all, I prefer to give our money to local businesses. This has to be one of the most tastiest sandwich shops I’ve visited. I had the Turkey, Avocado, Bacon sandwich and my husband had the sausage with marinara sauce and cheese sandwich — they were both DELICIOUS! The bread is so soft and all the ingredients had a great taste to them. The smaller sandwich was more than enough for us — we got so full. It is a small simple café — to us what matters most is the quality of food and service and this place has both! We will definitely be coming back.

Carol’s Café is small, hidden, and worth the short walk from my work! The bread is soft and fresh, smells like heaven! The sandwiches are priced about $ 7 for a large(large doesn’t really describe it… More like HUGE!) and she has lays or kettle chips as well as coke, Pepsi, snapple, and Arizona iced tea in cans for drinks. The vegetarian is loaded with avocado, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and cucumbers! So tasty! All of it is so fresh and great! She serves with a smile and doesn’t rush to get your order, which as a new comer I appreciated. As we left she cutely asked us(my husband and I) to come back soon, seeing how great her prices and food is and that she’s only a couple hundred feet from the office? We will be back!

I would honestly come here just for Carol’s service itself. She is always so upbeat and lively. I was next door fulfilling an internship, and would go to Carol’s often, and seeing how young I looked, Carol asked why I was there, since the resturant isn’t located in a busy place. I told her I was there for an internship, and she even brought up the internship the next time I went. I’ve been getting the pastrami and Swiss sandwich and I absolutely love it! The regular is around 5 bucks, and for an extra 2 bucks, you can get a large, which is twice the size, twice the deliciousness. I will definitely come here as much as possible!
