Service is always a little slow but the fries and shakes are super good, as well as the veggie burgers

Another year, another lost star from a weekly fan. The burgers will still be your best bet. They no longer serve cole slaw or the pulled pork. New menus come out next week. so they say. Turkey plate? hit or miss. more miss as of late sadly. Nachos are a soggy mess not worthy of anyone’s attention– kitchen has become sloppy. Servers are hit or miss. front heater along wall outside patio non operational yet the doors are open for winter dining-C’mon management we want to support you, but the quality has taken a dive and I eat out weekly… I’ll take it elsewhere

Hey Betty, what happened to you? With 5 Guys moving in across the street, you better step up your game or it’s going to be game over. We just got home with our take-out order. We had asked for a Biddy Betty with Tomato, Cheddar cheese, and lube, but no lettuce, no onions, no pickle. We were quite explicit, and the two folks at the POS were visibly and audibly careful in entering the order exactly as ordered. Arrive home only to find no tomato, tons of lettuce, and a bun that looks as if someone had been sitting on it all day. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but it shows that the kitchen staff doesn’t care. And BTW, the place was practically empty, so it’s not as if the kitchen was busy. Hope this is just a one-off, we love Betty’s and want you to continue to be the best burger in town.

The food was just okay. Ordered the fried chicken and they brought 2 thighs and a drumstick, should have been a breast, thigh, leg. You couldn’t really differentiate because of all the breading. After commenting to the waitress that it we got two thighs, she said she couldn’t tell when she brought the food. She offered to bring a breast after we were finished, but really? Get your act together… we don’t want more food, we just want to get what we ordered!

I’ve been to Betty’s Burgers in Seabright before, so I thought this location would be only burgers as well. I was surprised when we sat down and there was a full menu with salad, burger, sandwich, and plate options. They had milkshakes(of course), but also had«adult» milkshakes(with a touch of liquid courage). I ordered a Tracks in the Grass veggie burger on a whole wheat bun(which I ordered without pickles but I found them lurking in my burger anyway…). It was pretty tasty and the veggie patty had a good texture. Not dry at all like other poorly made patties. A friend got an order of fries which were cut very thin but were actually pretty perfectly fried. I would’ve expected them to burn easily but they were quite delicious! My boyfriend got the Lucky Lady 8″ hot dog. For $ 4.95, I wasn’t expecting much, but this thing looked pretty disappointing. It was literally just the hot dog in the bun. ZERO toppings… And the waitress didn’t bother to ask if he wanted any until we requested it. Flavor-wise, it was a little salty. Not the best thing to order…

Nothing special. Go to in and out or 5 guys if you want a good burger. I was not impressed. We ordered the homemade chips but she brought potato skins instead — eventually brought the chips. The alcohol mixed drinks lack alcohol so I suggest you order water instead. It was nice to sit outside by the heater. Restrooms require a code to get in.

Definitely a must try. But for a must come back, I’ll leave it up to you… The Burgers are delicious! hands down. Full of flavor and very fulfilling. i got the Point Grinder burger and yes that blue cheese adds that extra to it. Great salty goodness to that fatty baconess. Try it for yourself. The Potato Skins are bland. Nothing to rave about. I’m sure your average joe can make them at home. Possibly even better. The string fries… let me just say i was like waynes world. «We’re not worthy» they crisp them perfectly and the inside is soft. Perfection to french fries. My Wow! factor came from the Adult Shake… The«King» YES!!! A perfectly made concoction that has exactly what anyone would like for a chill drink. You can taste the alcohol just enough to satisfy you but not overpower the ice cream. The ice cream is a great flavorful sweet pastry that to be honest is a perfect blend of booze and dessert. Overall the food is great. The service is common to your average diner. The drop in the star was due to a $ 50 tag on two burgers, a basket of string fries, potatoe skins, and an Adult Shake. In my opinion burgers should come with fries and I shouldn’t have to flag my waiter down for my tab.

This place has fantastic hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, turkey burgers and of course vegetarian options(hey, it’s Santa Cruz). Not a lot to add, like everyone else we also enjoyed the sweet potato fries. I’ve been able to eat here a couple of times, it’s always been very tasty, all the people working here are super friendly and to top it off the food came out fast, even on a busy Friday night. Top notch burger joint.

Really bummed with this place because when my spouse and I have had late lunch or early dinner here its been great. I think the service has usually been slow but the food has always been great. So for my birthday, when asked where I wanted my family to take me it was hands down this place. It’s just embarrassing when you take first timers here and the service, food and overall feel of the place is a total flop. We made a reservation just to be safe and arrived early. The place was really not busy so they sat us. Then, the waiting. And waiting. And waiting. I looked around and nothing was happening, it was pretty dead overall. Finally our drink orders were taken. Then more waiting. They come back and get our app orders and got it wrong. Our server says, oh I was on vacation so I’m a little slow today… ookay. That really made me nervous that more was gonna go wrong. And it did. He forgot some drink orders and when my plate came out(chicken parmegian) it was burnt. Burnt to a crisp. I could not eat it. My whole family felt awful and awkward since it was my birthday and I raved about this place. They took my meal off the bill and never asked me if I wanted something else. I wanted to cry and was really hungry afterward. Thank goodness my family wanted to make it right and bought me some Pizza My Heart from down the street. I didn’t want my meal to be removed I just wanted someone to care or ask how to make it right. Nobody did, just a shrug and that was it. Yeah. You lost a customer. And the family that came with… just terrible.

The service is hit or miss. BUT last night our server, Alexandria I think? Was amazing. Very sweet and personable. She was very pleasant and engaged with my son about baseball. My tri-tip sandwhich was on point and we were served up quickly. The Wedge and Point Grinder are other faves of mine. I have had not so great experiences in the past which is why I hive it a 4 star. Betty’s is kind of our go-to when we are downtown so we come here often. Food is good, sitting outside is fun too if you like to people watch.

Taking into account how their burgers taste and how much they cost, it’s definitely worth a visit. Good size, good quality, and good price. I like the casual vibe of this place and the way it’s decorated inside. Service is alright and the fries could be better

Such a fun environment! I really enjoyed the food and our server was really nice and attentive. I had the veggie burger and it was delish! I am not a huge fan of mayonnaise so that is the only reason for the four star and plus I did not realize the«lube» was mayonnaise-based. I like that they offer lettuce as an alternative to buns as well as gluten-free buns. I definitely will come back when I visit my sister!!!

Probably the worse burger I’ve eaten in a very long time. Very dry and couldn’t swallow without drinking fluids with every bite. I ordered it with a gluten free bun. It was missing half of the top part of the bun. I ordered it to go and didn’t realize it till I got home. Seriously, I’ll take no bum instead of part of one.

Betty’s is another popular burger joint in Santa Cruz. Every time I go here the food and service is good. The burgers are apparently made with pasture-raised beef with no unnatural antibiotics/hormones added which is great! Overall although the burgers are good, they don’t taste mindblowing to me, even with their«lube»(aka the mayonnaise-based sauces on the burgers). The fries are also too skinny and lack flavor for my taste. Still this place is one of the standout, affordable spots in the Santa Cruz downtown for sure, and the inside of the restaurant is clean and comes with a classic, burger joint/diner sorta feel which is nice. There is a Betty Burgers on Seabright which serves just as good food as this place, just this one covers the downtown area is all.

Completely adorable and overflowing with joy and happiness; this place is perfect! I ordered the Chick-a-Dee while my boyfriend took on the Texas Two Step and our friends each grabbed a Basic Betty(all accompanied by a side of fries of course). Each burger was cooked perfectly/melt in your mouth delicious, and the Chick-a-Dee was huge, juicy, and dare I say it, AMAZING — especially since all were accompanied by Betty’s infamous«lube». The fries are super tiny in size but came in a large portion enough for one basket to fill up the four of us! Water is served only upon request now that the drought has settled in, and depending on the restaurant this can sometimes be a real issue. Luckily the customer service team here has it down; no matter how many refills were requested or by who or at what time they were all dealt with to no delay! Service was top notch, setting is inviting and adorable with inside and outside seating, food is gracious and menu is everything you could ask for. What are you waiting for? GETTOBETTY’S.

Let me begin with saying — They make fresh burgers which are big and good. We had two burgers 1) Big Betty with additions as Pepper Kack and Sauted Mushrooms and Chick-A-Dee with additions as Pepper Jack and Mushrooms. We had also ordered small portion of fries and drinks. Burgers were juicy and the patty in Chick-A-Dee was melting in mouth. At $ 38 for two with drink and gratuity it is definitely not cheap. My recommendation: If you are in Santa Cruz downtown and you are here for a few meals, this one is surely and option :)

Came in here for a Saturday Mother’s Day lunch on our trip to Santa Cruz. It was a nice surprise. Place had a nice décor and feel to it. The service was great, came in during lunch hour and they were super friendly. Didn’t get to order too many things on the menu(I usually do when it’s a new place), the kids had lunch already. My wife just had some shoestring fries and a bowl of their Chicken noodle soup. Fries were good, nothing super special, could’ve been better. Chicken noodle soup was on-point. It’s a little different than the traditional diner out of a can version. They use mac as the noodles, pretty fresh veggies and chunky chicken. The soup itself was different, it had a little thai curry flavor to it. Very good and will come back for more. I had just the Shrimp Po-girl, which is just their version of the fried shrimp sandwich. Really good, great sauce, good bread, little shrimps were falling out everywhere(could’ve been solve by using slightly bigger shrimp), but very good other than that. The chips that came with the sandwich was not good though, so one star off. Fresh fried potato chips were not hot and a little stale and a side of burned.

Betty, you did me right! That patty melt of yours tasted OHHHHSOOOGOOOD. But the waitress? Not so much. Yes, she did greet us nicely, bring our food out in a timely manner but I wanted a shake? Why couldn’t you get a shake might you ask? People arriving at the door & your waitress decided, lets get more people in & the ones with their food out as quickly as possible. «So heres your check sir. Take your time» as I take my second bite into my food. Seriously? Try it out, the foods good. But also expensive. Fries are additional even after you pay $ 9.50+ for a burger.

This location has a bigger dining area and maybe more menu options than the other Betty’s. My usual go-to is the bareback salmon burger with added grilled onions and sautéed mushrooms, with sweet potato fries. Decided to try something different here and got the veggie surprise sandwich. All the ingredients were delicious though it was a little hard to eat. The problem with most portobello sandwiches is the mushroom is slippery and oddly shaped so that each bite pushes it right out of the sandwich. Oh well, it just became more of a finger food than a sandwich usually is. If you don’t mind a little work holding it together, this sandwich is delicious. Was not a fan of the water which tastes like tap or an old filter.

Really good and cheap burgers(8 – 10 $). Even the fries are great, especially the thin crusty ones that can be ordered. I d go there any time!
