I brought my daughter in for air plants, as we called ahead to make sure they carried them. They had about 3 different kinds — all completely dried out, neglected and talk about over priced! I think the cheapest plant alone, 2in x 2in was $ 11.00 … But it was dead. I’ll try elsewhere next time. Nice staff though.

I have always had very good experience at this nursery, whenever I either needed plants or simply had questions. In fact, we bought all our veggie plants from this nursery and they are doing wonderful! I keep coming back and am puzzled to see some 1 star reviews(?) Thank you Summerwinds Nursery, we hope to enjoy yummy cucumbers, tomatoes, and zucchinis this summery!

Terrible customer service… Actually NO customer service. Don’t come here if you have questions, or need anything… I left here with no plants and none of my questions being answered… not happy

All 5 stars goes to a very outstanding employee who hosts a WEALTH of knowledge and never tires with all my dumb gardening questions. She has helped me for the past several years. From veggies to landscaping idea’s. This person should be a landscapes architect. Seriously she’s phenomenal. THANKYOU, Jackie. Now the cats let out of the bag and everyone will flock to see her. And they should!!!

Excellent service! We bought some dwarf trees. Lemon and lime and some more small flowers to our patio from this nursery. They had great quality in their plants and the service was excellent. We will return!

They tried to triple charge me twice because they are so disorganized. Do not trust. Staff is very rude. Go to another location because this is the worst one around!

Went here a week ago to get a Christmas tree with my family. We have been coming to SummerWinds for a few years now for our holiday tree. Used to go to the location nearer to our house on Wolfe and El Camino, but that one has closed. The Christmas trees at SummerWinds are fresh, green, and really well taken care of, and their staff is friendly and knowledgeable, but they won’t chase you down when it’s obvious that you’re just looking around, which is nice. Once we got our tree, the man who helped us had it wrapped up, cut the bottom and then we were on our way in no time. The plants all look very happy and well-tended. They have a huge indoor store as well. Tons of pots, indoor plants, potting tools and a huge wall of seeds. My daughter loved the old Tomcat that haunts the place. A worker said that they’ve adopted him(or maybe it’s the other way around), as he lives in one of the houses behind the nursery. My daughter kept walking behind him until he loudly protested and then jumped on the roof of one of the sheds by the fence near the back of the place to get away from her. Good parking, easy to find location.

Not much inventory, was looking for a cactus and there was not much. I like other nurseries better.

All roses I bought from here are more expensive than Home Depot, however, it lasted longer and it keeps blooming much more. It’s high quality, therefore it’s more expensive. Other roses from other places look sad now. I want to go back for more.

I really like Summer Winds but I’m bummed that their customer service is just so bad. They usually have a nice selection, so I went there to check out their vegetable plants. I couldn’t find the price for their eggplant and bell peppers, so I asked one of the workers if he could tell me the price. He scanned one of the plants and told me they were $ 2.99. I even asked if they were all that price, just to confirm, and he said yes. I thought it was such a good price that I decided to wait in line and buy 2 of them. When I finally got to the front of the line, the lady at the register said they were $ 4.99. I told her what had happened and she didn’t seem to believe me. I still bought them since I had waited in line so long. I just feel that they shouldn’t be misleading their customers that way. I probably will not go back to SummerWinds after that.

I’ve bought all my house plants from Summer Winds, given it’s convenient proximity to my home. I’m a rookie gardener, so I won’t blame them for the lavender plant I killed, but lately I acquired a spider plant that hasn’t been doing well at all, so I’m wondering if it is the quality of the plant, because it’s really hard to kill one of that variety. I did go back, and found someone to help me. I was offered a new plant in exchange, so props for that. The staff is usually knowledgeable and helpful when they’re not super busy, so I would feel comfortable going back. But to be honest, I’ll also be keeping an eye out for other nurseries to see what they’ve got to offer, in terms of variety, plant health and competitive prices.

What a wonderful shopping experience I had at Summer winds in Santa Clara. I was looking for a plant that I did not know the name of and was getting quite frustrated with myself. An employee, a tall young man with auburn hair seemed to sense my frustration and began to ask me some questions. I told him I only knew what it looked like. He spent some time with me and he was very professional and patient with me. Low and behold I found what I was looking for and purchased 4 plants, thanks to him. My hats off to this young man, I think his name on his shirt was Jon. Good job Summer winds for hiring young people who care! Hope you reward your staff!

I realize that getting somebody to open a business on a beautiful Sunday morning must be tough… and it shows. I was looking for a hot lips salvia plant and drove by the the storefront wondering if they were open. The sign IN front of the store(with removable placards) was missing the OPEN section. I drove to the side where I saw that they opened at 8:30AM. Good … It was 8:32AM so I went in to find one worker muddling about and told her that the open sign in front was missing. She mumbled something and I then asked her where the salvia plants were. She pointed«over there», pointing vaguely south. I asked«over there as in Campbell or over there as in Santa Cruz». Near the fence was her curt reply. Well, along the fence were roses I eventually did find the salvia plants, and yes, they were indeed in the ‘over there’ direction. It would have been nice to get more attention since it was empty. In any case I left empty handed since they did not have the hot lips variety I was looking for. I decided to go ‘over there’ to a competitor in Cupertino. They had what I needed AND good service as well.

Great new location! The staff was extremely friendly today and they gave my dog a few treats before we left. I am glad they opened up another location. The other locations sell out of popular plants and flowers quickly so more locations means more plants to go around.
